@theHighfallen Yes but that is conscious decision you are able to make.

@sinki19841984 In Australia that is illegal. As long as your vehicle is serviced by an accredited mechanic then the warranty still applies.

The right to repair also affects farm machinery and others who wish to repair their own equipment. Do you have any talks with their representatives?

I think it will become a law soon that headphone jacks be excluded from phones. Soon the Governments will wake up that we are rapidly sending our youth to premature loss of hearing through the use of headphones.

non-merchantable quality. You should be able to expect a keyboard to last three or more years. That is language lawyers should be using to Apple.

maybe be think they are disliking what Apples does.

sometimes it helps to rest the pcb so it is off your workbench so as it is not working as a heatsink.

@Holey_Moley One of our production ladies does this. It is impressive.
1
couldn't you just use thermal paste instead?
1
yes given time but how much time do spend before it is not worth it. We do some repairs of equipment that was made by companies that no longer exist. It isn't easy and not always possible.

Interesting that the macbbok didn't need any parts -genuine or not.
1
not sure if these are exactly the same as no one seems to put the extensions to the part numbers on them. ICpart is a Korean site. You should be able to use a translate on Google Chrome.

I am surprised they put the heatsink near the heat!

In Australia a green light means you can go only if it safe to do so.

Similar techniques are going in to cars now. The system checks the serial number of even the instrument cluster on start up and if they don't match then the car won't start.

if you have access to an x-ray you can usually just take an x-ray and get the part number from the wafer - not always o course.
1
@michaelblair5566 more likely it is to take off the date code which would show whether they are recycled or not.
1
@viperwizard491 yeah but how much development went in to it if the circuits came from data sheets from the chip manufacturer. the cost of parts on that would not be USD100 (except for the box) I expect from what i could see and the actual labour involved in building it would not be huge either. I have no problem with people recouping R&D if they don't get grants or tax incentives but this is a bit strong. To me it looks like about a USD2,000 product.

Its so obvious - the fan is for Apple Fanboys!

We use JBC irons. they have been pretty reliable over the six years we have had them. Only use tips.
