So the sweet spot for drone delivery isn't online shopping or food orders, it is for crucial shipments that only drones can perform efficiently. In that sense, this innovation wouldn't be used for convenience, but to save lives in more remote, developing/rural areas.

"Infantries win battles. Logistics win wars." True during WW1, and still true over a century later.

@Zach476 True but Shannon Airport is an international airport that Ireland controls. So not a military base at all.

Reasonable or not, China still broke the system the world relied on. However, it was only a matter of time for China to break it, since the recycling system was turning into an issue of national security. All in all, while it did break the system for the whole world, China was only speeding up the inevitable -- the system always was unsustainable, after all.

F-35 is the most hated fighter in service but it never fails to best reasonable expectations. The hate is not justified.
49
Plus, economies of scale matter. The F-35 has already started to gotten substantially cheaper than when it was first being rolled out.
40
These 8 years went by too fast. It's crazy how much the world has changed since 2015. Even more amazing is how far this channel has grown.
25
His alter ego is hunting Sam down as we speak.
25
@BlackHawkTejas You can stop watching and kick rocks. I won't blame you. It's been so long since you've seen responsible journalism that you can't recognize it.
23
@Fr3nchFlag That is insulting and ahistorical. America has extracted PR for all its worth. Hell, just look at how many Puerto Ricans have served this country, starting from WW1. And what does the island get in return? We treat it like a "floating garbage patch". If Greenland gets annex, it will also be treated like a 19th century colony.
20
It won't go away until lobbying is reformed or banned.
18
He, his channels, his endeavors and his staff are successful and healthy. DON'T let anyone tell you otherwise.
17
From time to time, I go back to watch Eisenhower's Farewell Address on the dangers of the Military-Industrial Complex. After 60+ years, it's still so very relevant.
17
This might just be my favorite logistics/sociology video Wendover has ever produced.
15
@BoleDaPole Sounds like something a warmonger would say.
13
@inkbold8511 That fails to acknowledge that recycling and global climate change are GLOBAL issues. It's either all of us, or none of us.
13
Honestly, Leave No Trace is a useful lesson in the hood, too.
13
This comment says it all.
12
This is April 2025. Americans are being disappeared by our regime and sent to this El Salvadorian torture gulag against the orders of the Judiciary. Bukele and Trump are actually bragging about this concentration camp and want to "5 or 6 more" built. I told you so. I told you so.
12
Pax-Americana is no joke. We have been living in the most stable time period ever. That reality has affected our perception of the world.
10
@mikemartin6748 Well, actually, that's because you only know modern "innocent" Switzerland. Historically, this is exactly how the Swiss acted. In WW2, the shot down both Allied and Nazi planes, while profiting by banking gold stolen from the victims of the Holocaust. During the Cold War, Switzerland was a faithful place for business for the blood money of Soviet/American backed dictators. This is exactly how neutral counties act. (Only Sweden & Ireland are exceptions.)

In a way, this is more helpful. Not in the current presidential election, but more in the long term. Currently, many red states have already shifted far-right along with greater GOP and the party's leader. So moderation, especially in Legislature and Congress, is more crucial than ever as we moving forward as nation. After Trump and the old guard are gone, the GOP will be forced to pivot -- hopefully towards a more balanced political spectrum.
10
And the best part is that people are already used to exchanging Euros for Dollars and vice versa.
9
@carlosandleon Anytime is prime time to develop public transport infrastructure. All of America needs it and (minus California's geography) it wouldn't even be that expensive compared to what the US already spends on certain appropriations.
9
@MrWuggles Wendover has always cover geopolitics whenever it intersects with logitisitics, which it often does. After all, this channel is about deep dives that focus on the logistics side of things.
8
@Croz89 See that's the thing. It's about how well a country can adapt. Estonia is probably the most successful because they surpass even Western standards. Many former Soviet Bloc states are now doing much better economically. However, in places with poor governance and high corruption (Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria) you get oligarchy. Same can be said about East Germany. Capitalism is treated like a boogeyman, but corruption and poor policies are brushed aside.
7
Not relatively. The F-35 is most capable fighter in the world. It is a definite success that get way too much unwarranted hate.
7
@fuwa9616 If so-and-so doesn't get due process, then no one gets due process.
7
@appalachiabrauchfrau And don't even get me started on how convenient delivering COVID vaccine supplies to rural hospitals would be. If cool temperatures are maintained, drones could save much more lives w/ much less risk of exposure.
6
@1337w0n Exactly. American politics doesn't even have actual left-wing representation. Even Bernie is really an independent centrist.
6
Yup. In 2022-23, India had a trade surplus of $28 billion with the US making the US economy India's largest trading partner. The US has stepped up in this regard due to Biden's Indo-Pacific Economic Framework. It's basically enhanced economic ties without the political preconditions of a trade deal.
6
Sure. Blame the US for a global problem. As if the US was the only country to industrialize.
5
There just isn't enough liquidity to do business solely in Yuans.
5
Definitely. Most countries that claim to be neutral aren't exactly so. But at least it's better than nothing. In tense geopolitics situation, I'd prefer diplomatics powers over military powers.
5
@shivamsolanke4660 Oversimplified & Lemmino are different. They make long, great documentaries about once a year.
5
I like how this video would have changed depending on the era. Currently, the digital space is one of the most important "fronts" for both current campaigns. Due to Covid, this was also true in 2020. Before that, the internet and meme culture didn't matter as much.
4
@zorod5475 And the fact that he is hawking Bibles and framing himself as "prophet" figure is insult to injury. It's sad how the majority of evangelicals support a false prophet like Trump.
4
EXACTLY! At first, I couldn't believe respected journalists from almost every major news agency were obsessing over 'ordering the same dish'. Like who tf cares? Instead, they could have been reporting on the logistics of Biden's secret trip to Ukraine -- but a guy on the internet decided to do their job for them. I've given up on American News Conglomerates.
4
Well, that's a massive blow to my EV hopes and dreams.
3
This why we love, trust, and respect Wendover Productions. Thank you.

Anti-Mormon Christians: "Let's persecute/exterminate these weird LDS folks so they don't gain substantial political power in this country." Mormons fleeing persecution: Make a home in Utah, & dominate the demographics. End up fielding national level politicians, like Mitt Romney. Anti-Mormon Christians: Surprised Pikachu face Seriously though, more people should learn the history of the Mormons and how they came to be synonymous with Utah.
3
Watch the video before commenting.
3
They also need systemic social and economic transformations or nothing will change.
3
Switching from such unsustainable practices (like only monocropping cash crops and importing all the food) to the sustainable roots of Hawaiian agriculture has been a long time coming. Yet, the damage won't be so easy to heal, especially after all this time.
3
Yeah. As an American, I wouldn't wanna be one their bad side😨😥
3
@LoremasterYnTaris EE isn't as reliable since it is liable to bias and inaccuracy.
3
I was really hoping for an answer or a solution at the end. But the sobering reality is that pessimism, in this case, is warranted.
2
Very true. That's shareholder capitalism for you. All they care about is the bottom line.

Take the People's Republic of China's PLA for instance. Their claim over much of the SCS, the Taiwan Strait, and the 1st Island Chain is mainly backed by the development of their Navy. In sheer quantity, not quality, the Pentagon estimated that the PLA N's brown water ships have already surpassed the US Pacific fleets'. And in the case of war, it is thought that the PLA's advanced hypersonic arsenal might be able to target key facilities in a preemptive strike. However, all of this is HIGHLY dependent on the vulnerable kill chains going off as planned -- which is much easier said than done. With that being said, no near-peer adversary or major ally can realistically rival the United States' Armed Forces' logistical mastery; the key to efficiency in times of peace and war.
2
Iowa, since it's always so important in every presidential election.
