The irony of America is that it is a democratic police state with horrible public schools despite paying the most on the education of any developed nation.

Ask the apartheid state.

Imagine having a beautiful piece of land... and wasting it on a suburban hellhole.

The Israeli Supreme Court (the highest civilian court) has long since ruled that the settlements and the actions of the settlers were illegal. But PM Netanyahu (the enforcer of the law) has refused to enforce that decision. He is fundamentally opposed to any 2 State Solution and is pro-annexation of the West Bank and permanent occupation of Gaza, following this conquest.

Thank you so much Ranjani & Vox for this piece of historical investigative journalism. This is history that deserves to be remembered.
3
@giannixx True. I'll still try to do better.
3
@PupcakesDogCare I have multiple ad blocks running.
3
This is honestly the main reason that I hope the AI bubble bursts sooner rather than later.
3
The best way to keep us down is to keep us against each other.
3
Well, we have already found them. They are great for song covers and whatnot. But they are not identical voices.
3
you lack an understanding of left politics.
3
The cycle of violence is vicious.

NO! I want my freedom units!

Free Hong Kong from the CCP. For democracy and freedom.

@KBoon In a conversation about guns, overall homicide rates aren't relevant. Deaths caused by guns do. Better to answer your question: Missouri has 2 of the top 5 US cities with the highest murder per capita rates.
3
@mydeadsaint Agreed. A strong economy usually correlates to a powerful military w/ smart capabilities.
3
Affirmative action is not about equality. It's about equity. That's the heart of this issue. Too few Americans under the difference between equal treatment and equitable balances.
3
For all those that doubted, Im from the future (2021) and POTUS 2020 bihhhh
3
lol like they can ever do things correctly when a major, regional power is involved let alone a world power with a veto seat in the security council.
3
@akkoismydaughter3573 Breonna Taylor was killed by her own govt
3
This is why Shinzo Abe's death was such a shock to me. (May he rest in peace.) Still, that high profile case aside, Japanese people don't have to live in fear due to daily gun violence.
3
We would have won in 2016 if we went with Bernie.
3
@JokeswithMitochondria End both parties and try some new ones, I say.
3
This is what I missed about Vox. This is great reporting. I hope to see more election coverage videos from this channel and not just articles.
3
Your mother would be disappointed in you. Not like you care about a women's opinions anyways.
3
@albavxz Don't put this on Vox. The burden should remain squarely on Delta's shoulders. The company is delegating its obligations.
3
I agree. Learning about Lula's conviction, this was always in the back of my mind. And it might also be one of the things that are holding Lula back from a comfortable victory (especially in the Brazillian Congress).
3
@Zampierre 1. Cap. 2. Did you forget who appointed him and directed his judicial powers against Lula? It was Bolsonaro.
3
@sujac664 Also, Lula just won the election!!! Albeit, only by ~2 million votes or ~2% of the votes. There was a ~80% voter turnout. And with the added caveat that, while the Presidency might be with Lula & his party, Bolsonaro still has influence in the Brazillian Congress because his party won the majority, early this month, in the first round.

To be fair to Utah, one must also factor in that Utah was (amongst other lesser-populated, western states" given the short end of the stick when water rights for the Colorado River were being divided, in an unusually rainy year, a century ago.
3
? Those rly arent or weren't American territories. Occupied during a war doesn't count.
3
@astronotics531 Flight Attendants are required to know medical-level first aid in order to save lives in an emergency. Even during the sexist requirements era, nurse credentials were essential to any flight attendant's resume. No middle schooler can do that.
3
@areeb8297 for real
3
@daindesal GOATED.

I thought this was just going to be about how South Koreans are so tall when in comparing to the 'dwarfing' North Koreans (I say that scientifically, not derogatorily). But, I was surprised to see that this was a thought-evoking analysis to see how height is determined by genetics and historical events/trends. Side Note: Recently, I learned how trauma can be passed down (generational trauma). So I have started to look at human evolution and genetics in a light that looks at both 'nature' and 'nurture'.

The way this video was filmed and directed is pretty cool.

For those wondering: as of Jan. 27, 2021, the third abortion option, which accounts for 98% of abortions in Poland, has been fully banned by the right-wing, anti-democracy party.

True. The algorithm isn't very fond of harder hitters like this.

To be clear, "no-fly zones" (or limited ones) have been established in proxy conflicts involving Russia and U.S. as enemies -- ie: Syrian & Yemeni Civil Wars. The most significant differences, in this case, are: 1) Ukraine is literally on the doorstep of the Russian heartland and a huge part of the strategic European plain. This makes NATO / US involvement here a threat to Russian civilization's national security. 2) Unfortunately, to the International Community, the fact that this war is taking place in Europe makes every "relevant" nation break a sweat. After all, everyone knows that World Wars always start in Europe, and the Ukrainian Conflict is the worst war the continent has seen since the 1940s. 3) Russia -specifically Putin- is and has been growing more and more desperate over the years making him erratic, unreasonable, and stubborn. This desperation might lead the globe into a nuclear crisis more intense than at any point during the Cold War -- and every leader in NATO and beyond knows it.

@mistergibzzz1948 That not how socialism works you donut. In fact, that is the opposite of socialism. Socialism put money in the hands of every person with equity. Capitalism languishes the consumer's money in the hands of the few (rich). When it capitalism meets government, it is called Plutocracy; country ruled by the wealthy: ie billionaires. An example of this is corrupt Federal Russia, and to an extent America too.

Facts. I want to go to Iceland SOOOOO bad.
2
My vote matters less simply because I live in a state that is more populous.
2
Only a psychopath would consider spontaneously combusting vehicles with self trapping doors as "winning".
2
Only for court martialed IDF personnel. For Palestinians civilians under Israeli occupation, it's a fast track to military court where they get a guaranteed conviction with no due process. And we are talking 14,000 Palestinians civilians. That is an apartheid

All debates deal with politics. So all debates should be fact-checked.
2
In this country, the so-called "gun debate" is the most depressing socio-political issue of our time. It is actually the only thing that makes me not want to raise my future children in this country. (Not even bigotry and/or the rise of the far-right does that.)
2
I miss the OG GOP. The current GOP acts like an extreme, insurgent political party. If there ever was another civil war, it would be fought w/in Congress itself.
2
These new pro-Trump; pro-QAnon candidates/politicians ironically call themselves "The Freedom Coalition".
2
During "peace" time, he was not the ideal president the country needed. But to witness a person's true nature, you have to see them backed against a wall with everything they love to lose. For Zelenksyy, it wasn't his seat of power or his selfish need to flee, what he loved were the people he swore to lead and what the presidency symbolized for the country + democracy in Eastern Europe.
