However, they all seem to subscribe to various conspiracy theories, and believe that they have been lied to all their lives. In relation to the ground on which the plane rests, its velocity is zero. If you want to specify some other frame of reference, have at it. BTW, it is upon this particular rock that so many flattards founder. For instance, so many of them seem to believe that they should be able to rise vertically in a helicopter a few thousand feet and wait for the other side of the country/ocean to arrive below them. So many of them are so fixated on a flat and motionless Earth that it impedes their grasp of the bloody obvious.
