  23. I wish it was the year of the Linux desktop. Not because I love Linux but because I now hate Microsoft as much as I hate Apple. If learning Linux was less of a pain (and there was more compatability with standard distros) I would have started years ago instead of recently. Documentation, tutorials, and "explanations," at least for Debian, is not newbie friendly. It's written for people who already have a good understanding of Linux, at best it has very technical explanations and thus always turn into an extensive wikicrawl to understand the terms used to explain the terms used to explain the terms used to explain the terms used in the explanation of what you need to do. At worst there is no explanation, you're just given a barely memorizable command with half a dozen mystical modifiers. It will usually fix your problem, but you have no idea why and it basically turns into an arcane spell you cast, the components of which you have no idea what they do or why they are there beyond "fix this one problem."

Also, too few choices for text editor, picked notepad because it's the only one I use regularly out of the choices. I use Pulsar (successor to Atom) or an IDE for coding and OpenOffice for basically everything else. (Not that I write much code.)

  32. I've been looking into Linux plenty, as I am in the process of learning (currently Mint, previously Debian), and I've never heard of or seen OpenMandriva mentioned before. Well, I've got a new distro to download and add to the collection. (I've been downloading a lot of distros to try out later at some point. Mostly lightweight ones out of curiosity.)
