You are overestimating pro russian count in eastern Ukraine. Even back in 2014 regions you listed (that you think could be meeting russia with flowers) fought of russian aggression. Anyone who was being actively pro russian was harassed, egged and put down. Simply put, they couldn't raise their head even in 2014. Today Ukraine is on a whole different level anti-russia wise. Most of the military personal fighting russians is originally from earthen Ukraine
15
1. Too late... Look back at 2014. There were no red or even yellow lines crossed. 2. Putin literally said they have the right to "move red lines". 3. Ukrainian people want integration with Europe, period. No one in Ukraine gives a F about some russian red lines
12
@Fauzanarief-n7i Nonsense. There's no such thing as "buffer" in today's age. Buffer for what??? By the way, Ukraine didn't even mention NATO in 2014. In fact, being a member of NATO would have saved Ukraine and Ukrainians in 2014
11
Turkey already big Ukrainian ally. Can't thank them enough for selling Bayraktar drones to Ukraine
9
Clearly you are Russian. That's what you want but you'll never see.
8
@xerogue Lol. Ukraine doesn't need any "boots on the ground" help from USA or NATO. Ukraine has enough combat ready, motivated personal. About 300k actually. And now more than ever modern military technologies (thanks to allies). Russia can't do shaite to Ukraine anymore. Sorry but you can only dream about this in your wet dreams
7
@xerogue Russia occupied parts of Ukraine when Ukraine had no commander in chief, no moderns weapons and only about 2000 (yes two thousand) combat ready soldiers. And back then Ukrainians could not imagine shooting at russians because what took place was unthinkable. Today it's 200k+100k in reserves and all have some sort of combat experience. Turkish Bayraktars (proven themselves against latest Russian equipment in other wars), Javelins, etc etc. And most importantly - motivation to kill russian occupants. And no one is "crying". It's only logical to gather coalition against a lunatic bully.
7
Why? Because they are chauvinist imperialists. Been this way for centuries and nothing has changed. You can ask the same question any empire and to you it may not make sense but it doesn't have to.
7
@haggismcbaggis9485 You clearly aren't familiar with russians and their government and opinion leaders. Top level officials and opinion leaders literally, and I mean literally, are calling to erase Ukrainian nation and hang those that fight back on lamp posts (that is a quote from Deputy Chairman of Duma). War is in their culture because they are imperialists
7
Empires in modern world only crumble. You'll be really disappointed
6
1. Budapest memorandum. 2. If Ukraine is occupied or there are no warnings from USA and allies then Russia will feel empowered to keep going
6
1. Yes Russian speaking, and? I'm Russian speaking Ukrainian and loath Russia. Most of the soldiers on the front lines are Russian speaking too. 2. Just stupid false propaganda. "Ukraine" has been on European maps for many centuries before even "Russia" appeared in today's region. 3. Who's asking you to die for Ukraine????
6
@xerogue By the way "all USA can do" is force oil embargo and watch russian economy crumble. "All USA can do" is freeze trillion $ of top russians. Yes, these crooks keep their money in USA/UK
5
Yes. Turkey and UK 2 biggest allies after USA
5
@Fauzanarief-n7i Why did Russia want to join NATO then? In any case, Russia is doing an excellent job attracting NATO to neighboring countries. Ukraine was a neutral country at the moment of invasion and didn't even mention NATO. Now, naturally and logically, NATO path is written in constitution.
4
Cry about it
4
@G_Signer Huh? I don't give a F what russia thinks of me. I'm Ukrainian and want nothing to do with russia. Ukraine surely existed before 1991 and if you aren't educated or curious enough it's only your problem. People like you is literally one main reasons for this conflict
4
@G_Signer This is commie fake stats. Reality? Before 1991 people were standing in queues to buy food. Putin hyilo
4
@G_Signer You know what really is funny? Ukrainian minimum wage is higher than in Russia. Ukrainian medium wage is just a couple hundred $ less than in Russia. And this is when Russia has unlimited natural resources it is selling for trillions of $$
4
@G_Signer Moron, many centuries ago Ukraine was on maps just as any other entity that existed at that time. Crimea will be back just as Baltic states were released from USSR. Only you see someone "flexing" in your wet dreams.
4
@G_Signer It's a fact.. there were queue to buy food or basic household necessities.
4
LoL, as Ukrainian I'm telling you right now - Fk off, we don't need russian "saving"
3
@BrettHar123 What's that garbage you linked?
3
@goldenwarh buffer from what????
3
@95GuitarFan Keep waiting, your decedents will have to wait too
3
Stopped reading after #1. Utter nonsense.
3
@theobrown123 When someone writes a nonsensical essay you expect me to waste my time countering every point? No, I have a life. But if you insisted on a response, I'll give you response to #1... How is Eastern Ukraine absolutely vital for russian survival? This alone is nonsense. Russia has the most nukes in the world to defend itself. Second part of the sentence is even better lol. I don't see any other country in the world moving borders in 21st century and there are countless conflicts in the world.
3
@pawew.6830 Thanks Pawel! Totally agree with you on this. This Volhyn tragedy is always brought up by Russians to start a rift between our nations. As Ukrainian I can tell you that we think of you as our REAL brothers. I know a couple of Ukrainian nationalists and they feel the same way. Heck, I'm somewhat of a nationalist myself. Anyway, Poland, Ukraine and Lithuania must unite armies (like in the past) and Russia won't be able to do anything to us. Ukraine 300k + Poland 300k + Lithuania 100k (with reserve). Russia won't be able to do shaite. Thank you for holding EU border 👍
2
How?
2
@kamilszadkowski8864 Perhaps. But there are enough people in any case to defend Ukraine no matter what. Ukraine existed before russian empire, survived russian empire and will always exist. Russian empire on the other hand is getting smaller and smaller
2
I'm Ukrainian and loath Russia. And in case you didn't know, Ukraine has free elections so people in power have been elected by Ukrainians to represent them
2
@avalen4399 Huh? Your first statement makes no sense. Pro Russian party did not win elections and won't ever win elections again. Crimea doesn't have real elections as Russia does not
2
@MrKakibuy Oh and famous African poet Pushkin also would disagree with you since he talks about "ukraine" in one of his works
2
@theobrown123 What does this have to do with what I said? I'm talking about Ukraine-Turkey relationship
2
@kamilszadkowski8864 Yep, Poland also one of the biggest allies and very grateful to have such a partner
2
@Jafes2011 Here, please don't beg. "We are one people, only problem is scoundrels that unconstitutionally grabbed power. They have to be hanged on light poles. And Ukraine - unquestionably is part of great Russia." -Deputy Chairman of the State Duma. Another: "Kiev is my Russian city." "Ukraine - fake state". "We are discussing problems of Ukraine because it's part of Russia." "Best solution - divide Ukraine into Galicia and Molorosiya." - honorable Deputy Speaker of Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky. Another: "we will drop an atomic bomb on straight of Bosphorus and waters will erase Istambul." "There's no Kazakh language, they never had writting either, there's nothing there." "Nothing will be left of Latvia. Empty space. I promise you. And word "Latvia" and Latvian language will be forgotten." Now give me quotes you are talking about.
2
@Jafes2011 You don't know how to Google? Search for comments by X about X and you'll have links to videos. Obviously you have to search in russian language. I couldn't care less what you think... You russians always say "you are just lying" if presented facts don't match your narrative. But I want other people to see the truth because they are sheltered by their own media from chauvinist russians. This is a big mistake on their part
2
@Jafes2011 Fresh off the presses just for you. Surkov, Putin's top advisor (First Deputy Chief of the Russian Presidential admin) explaining why it's Russian destiny to expand, etc.etc. https://youtu.be/qjt93yUj2OY
2
@Jafes2011 um, I gave you quotes of top gov officials outside of putin. I gave you quotes and even links to opinion leaders (we all know how it works in russia... TV and radio are 99% government message). But yet it's not enough for you lol. Give me a quote (verifiable) of any Ukrainian official that says they want to occupy part of any country to expand. Heck, give me a quote of any Ukrainian opinion leader. By that I mean someone on national TV or radio.
2
@Jafes2011 Um, you clearly are playing dumb or actually are. Surkov talks about Russian empire starting conflicts outside to curb inside protests. You have nothing else to say about Tolstoy and Zhirinovski. All 3 are top officials. That guy you "don't know about" is on top rated radio channel with top propagandist Soloviev. What the F does this have to do with CNN? And I have never heard CNN guests calling to expand USA territories. Regarding Farion lol... 1. She's literally the definition of marginal. She's no one, does not talk on national channels. 2. She never called to occupy any land. You seem to have problems disgusting cause and effect. This video you provided is literally at the time of bloodiest battles defending Ukrainian land from Russian aggression. I can totally understand even such marginal emotions during such difficult times of occupation.
2
@Jafes2011 What the Ffff are you talking about? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ 1. Red/black flag is an ancient cossack battle flag. It's a fact depicted on old painting called "cossacks writing letter to Turkish sultan". 2. "Glory to Ukraine" is just that. 3. Where did I say that Ukrainians are "better Slavs"??? 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ 4. Russians have countless ethnic groups, it's a fact! Russia is located on lands of countless ethnic groups. How's mentioning this fact somehow xenophobic??? I'm telling you not to be ashamed of this fact and embrace it instead of clinging on to Ukraine claiming it's where your roots are. What about others? What happened to Finno Ugric people? What happened to Tatars? What happened to Mordivians? They aren't your roots? Don't you think THIS is xenophobia??? 5. Zhirinovski comparison to Farion is like comparing water to cats. Zhirinovski was just recently in one of top gov positions and today represents huge part of Russian population.. literally - he's head of one of biggest parties. 6. As I said many times to you - chauvinist imperialist statements are coming from all sources in Russia... From top level officials to top rated radio and tv programs. You come back with a link to some marginal shouting "glory to Ukraine" under ancient cossack battle flags.... DURING RUSSIAN AGGRESSION IN FULL SWING!!! GET THE F OUT! You have nothing else to say so started making up nonsense
2
@95GuitarFan Dude, you are excusing Hitler of 21 century. Bravo 👏 By the way, your Hawaii example goes back to 1800s. At this rate might as well go to middle ages and then any aggression/occupation/murder is A OK
2
@95GuitarFan Huh? Don't put words into my mouth. 1. Both Hitler and Putin move borders. It's a fact. And I'm not going to take out measuring stick to see who killed more any why. Borders are moved on their logic of "historic lands" should come back. Fact, nothing to discuss here. 2. Russia is the only country in 21st century (heck, since WW2) to annex sovereign territory, at least in civilized Europe. Fact. Period. 3. I couldn't care less what USA is doing. This is about Russia here. And USA didn't annex any territories in recent history. Just get lost... You are making a fool out of yourself by justifying what he's doing to Ukraine.
2
@redbull1826 There's was no agreement. Show us the document
2
@toocoolforu Your boilerplate propaganda statements don't work anymore in 2021. Most of the soldiers defending Ukraine against Russia belong to that "minority" you are talking about and speak Russian.
2
Wake up, it's 21st century.
2
1. Ukraine is on European maps going many centuries back. It's a fact that anyone can Google. 2. Modern Ukrainians are descendants of Rusins (with one S), which lived pretty much on the same territories of modern Ukraine. Rusins and russians have very little common. Stopped reading your nonsense after that
1
Agreed. Loved the previous breakdown of Polish border crisis
1
@Jafes2011 There's was no "one nation at the dawn of Rus". In fact, there was literally nothing (no civilization) in the area where today Moscow stands. Back then Novgorod did exist but it has nothing to do with Moscowy and in fact, Novgorod was invaded and natives were slaughtered by Moscowy
1
@Jafes2011 What the F do the cities you mentioned have to do with what I said??? Names you mentioned have nothing to do with the dawn of Rus. Get over it. Rus started from Kiev and as all empires (this term can be applied here) collapsed. Today it's called Ukraine. Ukrainian coat of arms is Rus symbol, Ukrainian currency name is Rus currency name, Ukrainian language is basically a very close descendant of Rus language. What happened in-between is irrelevant in terms of today's internationally recognized borders. Why you russians constantly trying to leach on our history is beyond me. You have your own history, why are you so ashamed of it?
