We can safely say though that cromwell didn't much like the irish. you didnt mention that his actions were in large part a retaliation for the 1641 genocide that i mentioned (historians put the scale of that genocide at 4k to 12k and it most definitely was a genocide by any modern definition of the word) though you can certainly understand that the irish had grounds to be pissed off with the settlers/colonisers...
