baasmans you are confusing AI with humans. AI works in logic. No one really knows what the outcome is gonna be. But it sure is not gonna care about our own survival. We are irrelevant to them
1
baasmans the problem is in your question "why would AI want to do anything in the first place". This is not a human brain that requires motivation. Its simple as that.
1
baasmans you misunderstood, it's exactly this uncertainty why we should be scared. It could be good for us, it could be bad, but because we are not even in the equation and also not in control of it, we are most likely going to perish. Something as powerful as an AI, would no question going to impact us in a direct way. You need to understand first I think what it's capable of, if you did, you would not be even questioning why we should be worried.
1
baasmans I stopped reading your comment when you said AI will only do what we tell it to do. This is not AI, this is computer programming you're talking about. Our conversation ends here. You have no idea what you're talking about. Read up on AI, or general intelligence. Thanks for wasting my time
1
baasmans It took time because I have important things to do, I don't look at my phone all day. But every now and then I check comments to make people look stupid, Good day
1
Bebopity it amazes me more than people think our brains can't be replicated, having the technology and knowledge, anything can be replicated. If something exists and we know the physics and the technology then we can create it again. Only people I find who believe otherwise are the Catholics
1
if you worry too much about what other people are saying, you will never get anywhere. stop complaining.
1
Dennis Gaffney if fiat is backed by gold and bitcoin is backed by blockchain. His point was, blockchain is not a value in itself, you cant chop it up and distribute it to people to sell, its value is the infastructure and the value that people set on that infastructure but not in itself. Anyone can just make their own blockchain, thats not the value.
1
GalacticPopulators there is already a foundation out there, the name escapes me. It's an organisation that is taking in donations and talent to set up precautions to make sure that any potential development of Ai will be monitored and possibly intervene of the risks are too high.
1
Upful Soul yep, survival of the odds game
1
This guy just laid out the future. And i believe his arguments.
1
@Ginger_Hrn Cure malaria and you will get you a Nobel prize. They dont just give those things away because you invented something cool.
1
What you are basically saying in a long version is that if you are that man, you would do what that man would do. Well I dont think anyone would argue with that.
1
The point was the idea was arbitrary and not non existent.
1
Wade Wilson feelings do not lead to truths. Its a human flaw. If were Smart enough we use logic, but feeling is important for the survival of the species, which is not line with AI motives
1
any decent scientist would tell you this problem of conforming to the present scientific knowledge (e.g, Feynman), the biggest ones are evolution and gravity, but there are also other smaller scoped theories. The problem is when they see some incongruity they call it an "anomaly" and instead of following up on that anomaly, they look for ways to disprove it. "progress" does not have any merit if its for the sake of progress.
1
although it seems rational, its very illogical. its like Lance Armstrong saying "this is what I've accomplished with cancer, imagine what else I could have done without it" I dont have anything against this guy, but I thought you needed to understand the difference.
1
I hate people who look for things to complain about, I hate them more when they complain about things that are not there. its retarded, stop it.
1
who taught you hexagon!
1
the moment he said "we dont need animal products" is where he lost credibility and the moment I stopped watching. just another hippie dressed in a suite.
1
Also, when I refer to "plants" i refer to everything thats not meat for simplicity. To make it clearer for you: Im not saying that we should only eat meat, but eating a well balanced meal is the ideal meal, and meat is a part of it.
1
portal is more like doing puzzle games than the visual attentiveness, I don't think you listened to the lecture.
1
Everything is a hallucination, humans are subjective data encryptors because everything is filtered through your perception.
1
@Ali Miakhil Well, if what she says is true, then yes you can increase your IQ. IQ is simply working memory.
1
when people became selfish and the world cynical. but the thing is, if everyone changed their perspective, so would the worlds`. just as it changed to what it currently is.
1
Hard work alone would get you in a good position in a company, but we’re talking about start ups here
1
ofcourse you dont see thats an idiom, otherwise you would pick up on it, so you were stating the obvious there, this wasnt a debate, this was more of me hammering into your head simple ideas. doesnt work so please troll somewhere else, youve wasted enough of my time. and dont bother to reply as it will be deleted immediately you stubborn little kid.
1
the right and left brain compensates for each other. we never truly see the world as is because of our senses. it twists our perception to adjust to the real world.
1
@Mornys Wrong, it actually detected both his shoes as the actual skateboard, just pause it at the right millisecond. A Pose alone wouldnt assume one is on a skateboard.
1
I guess you dont know that the best way for humans to absorb controversial information is to present it as a joke. thats why a lot of TED talks have humor in it. because people let their guard down. otherwise he would come off as preaching and narcissistic.
1
@asganaway You cant expect politicians to convince people that putting money on something that hasnt happened yet is a very good idea, unless you have the luck of a lottery winner and dont want to get re-elected.
1
@asganaway Everything makes sense in hindsight. If a Politician told you to vote for him because there will be a killer virus thats about to come in 2020, people would think you are nuts. Kind of like Al Gore but worst.
1
@JenniferDaniels909 Response team to go to China? You cant really contain this thing, we dont even really completely know what it is.
1
@JenniferDaniels909 True, we could have minised the damage, but we would not have stopped the spread. Scientists still havent figured out everything about it and how to cure it. We wouldnt have had the technology to a more efficient way of detecting it, also detecting it earlier. The only way we could have stopped it is if we closed the borders to everybody.
1
@ajanderson6841 And how does that help you stop the spreading and how would that have helped stop the spreading if you knew about the nature of the virus a few weeks earlier?
1
@ephalanx1 ofcourse you can treat everyone, do you not have hospitals? I mean you can quarantine people, thats not hard.
1
@ephalanx1 Yeah there are a lot of other things going on, Corona isnt the only thing contagious that people get. why discriminate? Corona doesnt increase the traffic in hospitals as there isny as many cases at a time. Your problem is the hospital then not the virus.
1
@ephalanx1 I just said we shouldnt discriminate. You should actually read properly what I said.
1
a simple google search will do buddy, its not controversial. Im not sure why you make such a big deal out of it, its not even up for debate. now if you cant even research then I cant help you. but now back to the more important matter of: should we stop eating meat because there is a lesser alternative.
1
well, that's an ambitious point, which can neither be proved or disproved. I cant really argue with a "theory". if you are right though, then life is more wonderful than we think.
1
yea it was about your brain using it's visuals, army simulated action games because of the fast paced, chaos everywhere, working in a team, kill or be killed scenarios. that's the essence of why it re-trains your eyes, or you will lose. My question is how do manage to trace all this back to portal? I apologize if i said you didnt listen to the lecture, you actually did listen to it, but never understood it.
1
the idiom i was speaking of was "sarcasm doesn't exist on the internet" wow you really are stupid. are you following our conversation at all. i dont know why I even bother with you
1
being a smart ass wont save you this time. no really, you are an idiot. the phrase that I mentioned was an idiom, but you took it in a literal sense, is this making sense in that little head of yours? I feel stupid just trying to explain this to you. you shouldn't talk in public its dangerous.
1
its called the sun, and we absorb it on earth, go outside and look up, you will see it.
1
Its not what you do it's "why" you do it. So, WHY did you record this with a potato camera?
1
Lol
1
I played portal, you use your cognitive skills, cause and effect. multi tasking is doing multiple things at once (simultaneously). the process of portal includes a series of steps to get to the end. hardly a multitasking game. its not hard to grasp what im trying to say.
1
And you l watched it YouTube algo: Fuckin dumbasses
1
Silly, its not about what it sounds like, rather its the correct frequency. Did you even watch the video?
1
Pretty much every ted talk.
