@David-yn3kq the same reason why people wished France and England interveened after the ansluss, before ww2. it's not about Taiwan, it's about preventing China from making claims elswhere of which there are many.

@David-yn3kq what are you talking about? wars and military actions happen all the time without declaring war, it's weird how you would even consider that not the case. as for Taiwan, the USA has been making moves to recognize Taiwan as an independent nation and the Taiwan people are moving to that as well, the problem is that China does not recognize it and as a permanent member of the UN security council they can veto all changes to that. basically the only thing keeping the China out is the military of Taiwan and the rest of the world that does not want to hand the country to a totalitarian dictatorship like China and the UN should probably be abolished as an organisation if they did.

It depends on how m.a.d breaks down, two major nations go to war over X nation, they use conventional weapons, both refuse to use nukes, then one side loses controle, then the victor might decide total destruction to ensure victory or demand denuclearisation, the demand would weaken the loser beyond acceptable levels and might decide to use nukes to spite the enemy.

@russianpower4252 well the CCP is most certainly going to try and invade it again to enslave the population to make it a part of China, the question is, will the rest of the world allow it? or will they stand up to another dictatorship? we all know what happened after Hitler took Austria so we basically already knows what will happen if they take it.
