it's being attacked from all sides and has major demografic problems, the USA wants to isolate, starve and at some point dismantle the Russian state, while the EU wants to westernize and cooporate with Russia to their own intrests which no longer alines with US intrest.

I can explain partly, Turkey needs allies because they are enemies of the west and Russia needs allies because the west has aggresion towards them, it's not a real alliance as more of a enemy of my enemy situation, if the west tried to be more friedly with Russia they could block turkish shared intrest with Russia.

I agree, the amount of hatred people seem to have and especial media towards Russia is insane but I can see why it's in US intrest to keep the conflict going, the USA has shown itself esspecialy lately that it does not care for our intrests what it cares about is US intrest and the potential of a stable Europe working together with Russia is probably their biggest fear if you see how much conflict they want with Russia. I keep seeing things like ''but Russia invaded georgia!'' ''Russia annexed cremea'' which is such simplistic bumber sticker logic that it fails to understand the history of these places and to understand Russia. Putin is a hardline leader and a somewhat authoritarian but he is acting in the intrest of his nation which works diffrently from how the west works, Russia does not want to invade Europe it wants to trade, nordsteam 1 and 2 is proof of that but the USA does not like the concept of peace and trade if they can't controle the outcome in their favor. peace between Russia and Europe will come, all of this are just minor setbacks by the USA and bad policy makers who's time will come at some point, then we can start a new chapter, though Russia does have problems, as does the west.

@Kauppi2 if Russia realy wanted to subvert the European nations it would support the parties i mentioned, you don't engage with that because it's accurate and illogical for Russia to actualy do that, in fact Russia has been trying to raise their birthrates for some time now to prevent that muslim colonization, I wished we in the west did the same.

I live in the Netherlands I understand how the EU works, it's benefits and problems, I understand the economy and history of Russia, I also understand how Erdogan has turned turkey into an enemy of the west and a real thorn in the side of NATO, the fact that Turkey still is in NATO is a real problem, it's only part of NATO because of their military which the USA has propped up and causing problems for us here in Europe, which is why we need to work with Russia and build up our own forces to block them and their hostile acts because the USA aint going to do it so someone els will.

Correct me if im wrong but Eastern European state invested 100 billion euro's in the project. Funds needed 570 billion euro's USA investment in the project 1 billion dollars How is this USA throwing it's political weight around? It's barely anything compared to what's needed.

I don't think they like USA so much as they like NATO which is led by the USA, NATO is important for their national security and the EU right now does not have a real standing army and the other nations of Europe have neglected their militaries for a long time now, partly due to US intrest and support of future enemies like Turkey but still that's starting to change. I think they distrust Germany because of Nordstream 1 and 2, clearly Germany wants to trade with Russia but if Germany and the rest of Europe had a stronger military they would side with Germany over the USA.

@sahhaf1234 yeah I agree, the USA has lost it's ways, ever since the cold war ended they threw out any ideas of peace and prosperity for all out the window it seems and now they are largely run by globalists, same as with the EU, Russia is also somewhat of a globalist state ignoring partly the demografic problems they face and cathering to their islamic population, though like you sayd Russia is fighting for it's survival. the EU has always been a work in progress but it's goal still is European unification, however that being sayd what kind of unification? that's where you see all these diffrent groups pull and twist on what intrests to follow and some are just subversive towards the very end goal like with the waves of migration and lack of natalist policies within it, that's slowly changing however as the Eurocrats realise they can bend or break, Brexit was a clear sign of what happens when they ignore their own best intrests.

@sahhaf1234 the USA does not want to rule like the UK did, they are like the Roman empire, they want client states who ''need'' their ''protection'' while maintaining their own prosperity. but like the roman empire they are very corrupt and ignoring their true enemies while being dragged into expensive wars that only further divide their allies. Russia poses a threat to the USA in that if they can't maintain conflict between east and west, NATO is done for.

@sahhaf1234 you actualy have two versions of collonialism, biological colonization and resource extraction based colonization, in the later case you are correct and the institutions, roads and education system is largely focused on exclusion, extraction of resources and use of cheap labor (often slaves), worst examples of this was in south america and the Congo. Biological collonialism means having people settle and replace the native population, creating a new society, a new people or a mix of native and non-native settler collonies, the USA is the best example of this, which basicaly through war and colonization still rule the country they have today because they annexed through war and replaced the native population, likewise to a degree this is currently happening in the west and esspecialy Europe which will inevitably lead to the same kind of reactions as the natives did to the USA, though that's more speculation on my part. Europe is actualy very densly populated and there is a need to expand but more economically then traditionally, we actualy want to trade more with eastern Europe and Russia but the USA knows they can't allow that long term so they have to keep conflicts going, refugees are a big problem for the west, few people understand the military industrial complex but it's mostly the USA, France and the UK doing that. We sould do more for the refugees but to do that we first need to be able to stand up to the USA, which we currently Just can't do.

@sahhaf1234 well yes and no, most Europeans are aware of the USA's involvement in the middle-east and some are aware that the major nations, aka UK, France and to a lesser degree Russia, Italy and Germany have a hand in the development there, it's largely been a US led effort so it's easy to just focus on the USA and not see the influence we had in the matter. That being sayd we suffered the most compared to the USA from the fallout of these wars but are unable due to NATO the current issues with Turkey and Russia to deal with the matter effectively, we just don't have the military, the willpower or the influence to change course set by bigger players. The refugees have been largely focused on Turkey, Jordan, Italy and Greece and for a long time the EU had resorted to allowing refugees to come to Europe by influence from Merkel, however after the brexit vote which was largely fueled by fears of migrants and refugees they are now (slowly) realising they need a more direct and militaristic solution to the conflict and the US in these regions. As for why they attacked iraq, Libya, Syria and others is difficult to say, some say the military industrial complex, others to counter Russia, other because of israeli influence through APAC and other lobbies including the saudi lobby, perhaps a combination of all of them? Idk for sure anymore. As for the USA, it's change a lot from it's roots and became very corrupt through banking and corporate power, some of which now have more power then most western nations, which is what fuels anti americanism and anti globalism around the world, that's why you had Donald Trump to begin with he presented himself as an outsider and it got voters, it won't be the first time and seeing their current state, it would not surpise me if they somehow make it so he can run again in 4 years, breaking the 2 limit termship rule in the USA or just becomes a new political dynasty like the bushes and the Clintons.

I don't think the plan is going to work very well, the USA is to busy with other national intrests and Russia is not realy a threat to Europe, in fact Russia has major problems, has lost it's main support in many of it's former regions and is acting not from a position of power but weakness, trying to appear strong when in reality they are much weaker now then before, their military is very good but their economy is largely resourced based and not much els, it has great potential but in it's current state because of sanctions and the demografic problems within Russia they aren't a threat towards the west. in fact it's in US intrest to keep conflict going, to keep pushing Russia back while blocking any improvement between Europe and Russia, their goal is to keep this up as long as they can so as to undermine the long term goals of all these nations.

@ten_tego_teges France is like 7th on world stage in terms of military and Germany is forced to have a limited military by the USA, that's why they want a stronger EU to become strong again, probably to expel the USA and NATO, because NATO is long term more of a burden for Europe. Russia is not a threat but a potential ally

@ten_tego_teges not realy, most of our media is US based not Russian, Russia helps fund some nationalist parties because they want a more independent Europe, they fully support a EU army, they need trade with the west. Truth is Russia needs peace and trade, the USA needs conflict and sanctions. We aren't treating Russia honestly because we can't because of NATO. We are currently in a transition situation where Europe needs a stronger military that's strong enough to repel the USA and Russia, then we could actualy work together, Russia fears NATO, they want to work with the EU. Fake news comes from all sides, mostly the USA, UK and China, Russia only realy has RT, their power is largely overblown and exadurated. What Russia does have is a strong military and rich resources, largest natural gas reserves in the world, 150 million people. They don't threaten us, they threaten the US plans in the middle-east.
