  1.  @ytatman3218  Do you like content draught like Warlords of Draenor or Shadowlands? That's what happens when graphics get updated. Graphical fidelity is the reason AAA games cost hundreds of millions to develop nowadays. They take 90-95% of the development resources and time, while being the least important part of a game. They are also the reason AAA games come out so buggy, because graphical assets and animations aren't finished until a few months before release, not allowing developers to properly test and bug-fix the game.

  2.  @ytatman3218  WoW already has AAA graphics by MMO standards, considering how huge WoW is and on how old of an engine it is. Smaller MMOs can have better graphics. You have to realize that better graphics means they have to update EVERYTHING from Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms all the way up to the latest expansion.

I had to self-educate and go to private courses. University was just 5 years of my life wasted because boomers believe in it.

  9.  @Titi-pu2hl  I agree and disagree, I think they should make more serious games without stupid monetization, but keep the graphical fidelity and art style since it's very cheap to produce. Western AAA games cost hundreds of millions to develop because they go for very high graphical fidelity and that's literally the least important part of the game. Realistic graphics =/= better game, only a more expensive one.

They take 90-95% of the development budget and time and are the reason why AAA games come out broken, because graphical assets aren't ready until a few months before release and there is no time for them to test and bug fix the games... It's also the reason that AAA games that aren't CoD and GTA(those that sell under 5 million copies at full price within a quarter) need microtransactions...

  16.  @DeadSnowFynn  They have the money to make it happen, but they'd have to jack up the prices of everything to get back the money they would spend. And nowadays a AAA game is developed for 4-10 years, imagine an MMO with the graphical fidelity you want. WoW is already mostly graphical and visual designers, so imagine if they upgraded the graphics. 99% of the staff would be working on graphics, not because they'd reduce the count of rest of the positions, but because they'd need a truck ton of graphical and visual designers.

  19.  @Gaz_1  Dragonflight is the best expansion to date and has none of the negatives of Shadowlands. Tons of frequent content updates, super alt-friendly, super nice gearing systems, best class design and profession systems. Best expansion to date.

  30. Well they could have shorter expansions or they finally added a 3rd team to WoW's development and are now developing 3x expansions at a time, instead of 2x. Until now they have had 2x teams develop WoW expansions in paralel. That's why Expansions go in pairs => Vanilla + TBC, WotLK + Cata, MoP + WoD, Legion + BFA and only with Shadowlands did they break the pairing due to how poorly it was received.

  36.  @Trebellian  That's not the point. It would cost at least 3x to make WoW in an engine like Unreal, and it will have less content and it will have less content per patch. Unless they increase the price of everything. And then all the bugs and technical problems it will have for at least 1-2 years after release.

  44.  @Crippledsteel  People were negative about epic store before they ever paid a single dev, got a single exclusive or did anything wrong... How do you win then? People will forever just love steam for no other reason that it was the first and they are used to it, unless valve does something horrible, but they won't, since first they have a good track record and I doubt they will break it and two they don't need to, being a private company rocks.
