Denis was beaten or almost beaten by plenty of people. Even in his prime on the right arm he would have no chance against Levan.

@ John Brzenk beat Denis as well and even Michael Todd had close wars with Denis. That is plenty of people compared to prime Levan who had just crushed everyone and never been pinned. They aren’t even close.

@ yes arm wrestling has evolved. That only points further to my point that Prime Denis wouldn’t touch prime Levan. Levan crushes everyone where as Denis had rivals in an era that was weaker. It is obvious that arm wrestling has leveled up. I think Denis wouldn’t touch prime struggle to break the top 5 in today’s arm wrestling landscape let alone touch Levan.

@ the conversation was about wether Denis could be current Levan. The answer is no. Denis was the strongest in his prime but not by much at all. SHW are stronger than ever yet Levan is head and shoulders above everyone else. You can disagree if you want.

@ you are the one isn’t seems is changing it. If you are now asking if Denis has a better chance than anyone from the past to beat Levan then I would agree with you. But that doesn’t mean he would beat him. His chance would be very low. I didn’t say that Denis for sure wouldn’t be in the top 5 today. I said I was unsure. I think prime Denis would likely be beaten by Ermes and Devon on the right arm. And possibly Vitaly as well but it would be very close matches, it’s hard to say. The level is very high right now in the supers.

@ Levan hasn’t been pinned in like 6 or 7 years. He’s had a way longer streak than Denis without having any true rivals.

@zuja666 he crushed all these guys he beat 4-0 and beat Ermes much more convincingly than Levan. And he was clearly stronger than Genadi that day. The bias reffing played a factor. Which is why since that match the refs was changed by Engin.

@blazze8870 all I know is Travis is an absolute beast. He already made Derek Smith look like a complete amateur. If he is truly motivated again I don’t see anyone outside of Levan and Vitaly Even slowing him down on the left. But that’s just my opinion.

@tomhaslimitshall2375 first off he’s not a bum if he is literally getting payed to arm wrestle on the left on the biggest arm wrestling stage out there. And he knows how to arm wrestle he is top 20 on the right I believe currently. Who are you to call someone a bum? Have you been offered a match at East vs West? I doubt it. Secondly it’s not just the fact that he beat him but the way that he beat him it looked like the old Travis. The real tests will come though.

@brenogustavo292 he was a high level basketball player, a high level judo competitor and special forces in the military. He has won iron man competitions and used to bench press 365lbs. He has been in tons of gyms most of his life. It was only the last 5 years or so that he started pumpkin training. He was a well rounded athlete and went to the gym a lot in the past. He says he never purchased a gym membership because in school you have gym access and in the military you get free gym access with high quality equipment, plus he has had a home gym as well.

It can very much be improved with practice. I know many slow arm wrestlers who got quicker and it doesn’t matter if you are so strong. Levan is slow but he destroys everyone. Strength trumps speed especially in the heavier weight classes. A 150lbs speed puller won’t touch him ever. Plus supermatch pulling speed matters less this isn’t a tournament just learn to load and apply back pressure and speed is negated pretty much after round 1 or 2.

Brian has never performed a strict curl lol so you have no way of knowing that. He has said he has done reps with 315 on cheat curls though besides Leonidas is a bodybuilder and bench presses and does curls all the time. Brian also has way longer arms which are a disadvantage at both those lifts but on the arm wrestling table are an advantage. Brian is way stronger overall than Leonidas and it’s not even close really. Carl M the man who holds almost every grip world record right now who is 6’10” even said recently when asked if he had the strongest grip in the world that Brian Shaw may have a stronger grip, he just doesn’t compete in grip events. That is crazy. Brian Shaw has WAY more arm wrestling strength and potential than Leonidas and it’s not close.
