in theory it sounds benign. like communism, in practice it leads to disaster. the ones who embrace nationalism seem to go overboard with patriotism, exceptionalism, racism, xenophobia, censoring of information, etc. it seems to be the pattern that i see everywhere with people who embrace nationalism.

there are cleaner forms of energy to use besides coal. look what coal did to west virginia in the long run.
1
SickenedSparrow i should start that business. i'll be a millionaire in no time. lol
1
Max Gosselin its still art and its the new and most chosen art form that artists want to do in modern times right now.
1
Jason Taylor the reason why george bush sr. didn't get sadaam in the original persian gulf war was because his intelligence report said that what would happen is exactly what did happen after we went in the 2nd time and did get sadaam. i don't know if the bush jr. administration wrongfully deemed that bullshit and ended up covered in mud because of it or the conspiracy was real. either way, there were people warning the about what would probably happen and they chose not to listen to them.
1
Eternal Sunshine i don't think that i would go that far. i think that they were really that stupid of ideologues who thought that they could "liberate" countries in the middle-east and the people there would like them and they would be able to install their puppet leaders and be able to do all sorts of deals to make everybody richer than before.
1
Eternal Sunshine yeah but didn't they figure that all of that would go smoothly and they would have their puppet leaders installed there with the leaders that they didn't like ousted with no real opposition from the people and mostly cheers instead?
1
Eternal Sunshine i'm not sure how usa politicians have benefited from the state that libya is in. they sure haven't benefited from the state that syria or iraq is in. i don't really get the point of wanting to destabilize that entire region. i don't see them gaining anything from that. if anything it has cost the usa trillions of dollars and counting so far.
1
Der Dudelino the bush administration might have grossly under estimated the cost. besides that certain members of the administration were profiting from the invasion. the were operating under the old "mafia doctrine" that the CIA has always operated from.
1
tiron er if obama was really a dictator then everybody at fox news would be dead or in jail along with all of those tea party fascists. can you define a dictator for me?
1
tiron er you aren't making your country look very good by showing how completely and totally ignorant you are.
1
tiron er why did you say that he was a dictator earlier in the thread?
1
tiron er no i didn't say that obama was a dictator.
1
+Danchik k i have a question for everybody on the thread. what would you do to try to eliminate the massive amounts of corruption in russia and it's neighboring countries? so far i have yet to read any comments addressing that topic which was really what the video was about.
1
Gio Iberi what did georgia do specifically to clean up their country?
1
Jacob Lewis not in my old neighborhood and i'm white. there were cops that would pull over and verbally harass law abiding citizens in order to bait them into retaliating in some way.
1
Jacob Lewis O-o ever hear of a thing called a kangaroo court? have you not heard of the over 1000 inmates serving long prison sentences who have been cleared for release because DNA evidence showed that they were innocent of the crimes that they were accused of committing? have you ever seen video evidence of cops sprinkling crack cocaine on motorists who they dragged out of their cars and beat them up for literally nothing? what the fuck is your problem dude and why do you choose to be so blind to reality?

FCCO the usa isn't sending guns to ISIS. thank you for demonstrating that the world wide press likes to lie and manipulate people as well and its not just the usa press.
1
FCCO it was wealthy sunni elites in the arab gulf region that supplied and created ISIS.
1
FCCO they were the ones supplying ISIS with weapons. the usa did back the rebels but it was the saudis and their neighbors who spearheaded the whole thing and encouraged people to go over there and fight assad.
1
FCCO being betrayed by what you thought was your was your ally and directly and consciously selling or giving weapons to a group like ISIS are two different things. i knew about the iraqi army dropping their weapons and leaving them for ISIS but all of the details of exactly what they got was foggy in my memory banks. if the iraqi army was planning on doing that then i don't think that it would've mattered who the president was when the opportunity for them to do what they did happened not to blame things all on bush. we were not welcome visitors/occupiers when we were there. even the group that benefited a little when we were there don't like us or appreciate it. exactly how did obama blame bush anyways?
1
FCCO that's true but the iraq war had already cost us 4 trillion dollars up to the point where we eventually left not to mention the fact that the iraqi government didn't want to renew the contract to have the usa forces stay any longer. it would be similar to blaming nixon for the usa losing the vietnam war. eventually you have to cut bait. especially when the cat is out of the bag and the world knows that the reasons given to go into iraq were either lies or embarrassingly incompetent intelligence reports. under all of these circumstances, you have to cut bait and let the iraqis deal with or make their own decisions whether or not you like those decisions or not. it would defy all logic to stay there and really it defied logic to go into iraq in the first place considering that there were plenty of alternative intelligence reports out at the time of the iraq invasion predicting exactly what eventually would transpire. i know this for a fact because i remember reading a lot of that before anybody ever talked about going into iraq a 2nd time.
1
FCCO egypt ousted the muslim brotherhood and morsi over a year ago and now a secular general named al sissi is the leader of egypt. also how do you figure that obama had anything to do with morsi ever being elected in egypt in the first place? there are reports that the elections were probably rigged in his favor and that might be true but i still don't see how you can connect obama to that.
1
+IAMdeathblade that flag symbolizes the old jim crow south though.
1
+Uncle Snoop they just did declare war on them.
1
turtlecoal france did declare war on ISIS after this.
1
turtlecoal that seems to be the case although i'm not sure what france did to create ISIS though.
1
Michael Jonnes only a very small percentage of hillbillies in the usa think that the "moozlims are gonna take over." don't group them in with the rest of us normal americans please.
1
Egyptian Space Odin i can't see the world's systems changing that much in the next 100 years. there just might be more people with leaders more globally connected and more metadata being collected and maybe more fun and distracted toys to get people to forget that there are cameras recording where everyone goes wherever you might be.
1
Egyptian Space Odin that's the future world that i envision. more of the same things. hopefully there won't be any more wars or poverty in the world. that would be a nice vision if i could see into the future.
1
C/Gw there will always be an unequal distribution of wealth. what i was thinking was a future world where nobody starves, everybody has a modern style home (plumbing, electricity, etc), access to hospitals and schools, etc.
1
C/Gw i think that its possible but there could be a few more major wars and catastrophes along the way to wake the world up before people are ready to be serious about working towards a world like how i envision it. the world isn't overpopulated yet and climate change is something to get prepared for but really overpopulation isn't a huge concern just yet. that would potentially come way down the road for humanity.
1
C/Gw unfortunately that is true. what motivated you to say this?
1
russia always helped them in the past too. there seems to be a lot more of them becoming neo-nazis though. during ww2, they hated the nazi croats and fought them.
1
***** americans do need to be more concerned about how our government represents us all. he's right on that one. international relations isn't like high school where you are considered cool if you don't care what other people think about you. not caring what other countries or people in other countries think about you can have dire consequences.
1
Andrew Cawley i think that he is blaming our government and not usa citizens personally.
1
Andrew Cawley i've never heard of any republican plan to try to push for a free and independent kurdistan. i think that the most that they could do is vocally promote it here in the states. i think that the kurdistan region in iraq would have to petition to secede, iraq would have to grant permission and then the UN would have to vote on it and approve of the secession. they would have to make some pretty interesting deals in order to get the iraqi government to approve of a secession. the only thing that i can think of that would work would be to go back into iraq and topple the too which isn't going to happen. i don't have a problem with the idea of an independent kurdistan but the timing would be wrong and the usa would have to throw moral scruples out the window in order to successfully manipulate the iraqi government to go along with it. the whole world will see through it and if the original iraqi invasion didn't make the usa government look bad enough, this would be 10x worse as far as the image that our government would be projecting to the world and in the arena of international relations, public image is really very important.

easystreets70 napoleon was always being cuckolded and treated like shit by his mistress/wife. she had him whipped.
1
+eric Stoenescu i heard that they stopped runoff from the sierra mountains to save a fish and save the fishing industry over by the san francisco bay as a reason why the water supply is low right now.
1
most protestant churches are a lot more informal and stress more of a personal, mystical experience and less reliance on the priest. that is a big part of the appeal for american based protestant churches. less ritual, less formality and more hopping up and down and speaking in tongues. its really primitive if you think about it. still it's as american as you can get and that would be what threatens these guys in russia and donetsk i suppose.
1
***** that's not true. there are more sects within protestant christians then i can begin to count and almost none of them pray to mary. you have been misinformed.
1
Black Fox the list would be long and endless when it comes to abuses done either in the name of both religions or more or less endorsed by the leading church leaders of the time though. trying to get into a contest over which religion is better is stupid.
1
Black Fox couldn't you say the same thing about christianity though? it condones and can be said to encourage invasions and genocides (old testament). i see where that debate is going and its the same old redundant thing where everybody brings out verses where violence is encouraged in each others holy books and past abuses and crimes were committed in the name of each others religions.
1
Big Brother it sounds like everybody in the world is uneducated about ukraine and russia. all we get are contradictory stories from all around where one side says its one way and the other side says "no you're wrong. it's the opposite way" and then it keeps going back and forth on practically everything. how are we supposed to be educated on what's currently happening in ukraine when things are like that. i don't know who to believe or if i should bother even having an opinion.
1
***** i thought that yanukovich pilfered it and took it all with him?
1
hookah604 i heard that in the 1930s the federal reserve stole most of the gold out of fort knox and recently the german government asked to see their own gold reserves that they have stored in the federal reserve and they wouldn't let them see it.
1
***** the police were originally formed to protect the rich from being robbed or overthrown french revolution style by the poor. the poor had to sort things out themselves thus the formation of mafia type rule in neighborhoods and the high crime rates.
1
the reason why the catholic church has been so much against all forms of birth control over the years is because in the olden days, famines, plagues diseases, wars, invasions, etc were real fears and the potential of a population being wiped out was something that worried people. they figured that they needed to encourage people to have as many kids as they could even if it meant stretching the truth and saying that this was ordered by god even though the bible doesn't actually say anything about abortion in any direct way. as a matter of fact the bible verses used to condemn abortion don't show any kind of evidence at all. a person would really have to stretch their imagination out in order to read something like that into it.
1
yuubokumin415 vice knows this. they've covered those stories too.
