highlander723 it's probably true assuming that most people on welfare vote at all. i'm guessing that most of them would rather stay at home then go down to vote.
1
highlander723 i would be willing to bet money that most people on welfare don't vote.
1
they should've sent things that talked positively about life outside of north korea and not sent them inflammatory things trying to provoke them.
1
VICE News was that lucy kanov from RT?
1
they've already covered ebola and will cover it again i'm sure. this story is on the growing pains that west virginia is experiencing in having to transition from a state that depended entirely on coal mining to trying to figure out a new alternative. vice does stories just like this in places that most people never even think of doing. this is actually a typical story for them.
1
Abu Badari what did zarqawi think of shiites?
1
VICE News the UK should have a program where they trap and neuter/spay the foxes and then release them. that would keep the population under control so that the local farmers don't have to worry so much about having their chicken coops raided or their lambs eaten that a ewe just gave birth to. that would be a good compromise that should keep the farmers and the animal rights activists content. if it doesn't then fuck em anyways and go along with the program. also to be honest, you all should've mentioned the utilitarian reasons for why they used to and to a certain extent still do these fox hunts. unless i wasn't paying close enough attention, the girl who did the story didn't mention that but should've.
1
+HyperionNyx i was thinking the same thing. i'm not sure if it was such a good idea to let algerian immigrants into france considering the fact that the algerians had a revolution against the french colonizers in the 50s and 60s. there would bound to be some resentment on both sides that would be fueled by them mixing together in the french homeland.
1
Patriot2452 even worse then hoover and bush jr? have you studied history or learned how to look at bush jr in an objective light yet? i'll bet a lot of your complaints about obama are things where he is just continuing the policies of bush jr and you didn't know about it. i want to test you and see if you are following the right wing propaganda indoctrination or if you really know what's going on.
1
***** muslims worship the same god too. technically most jews in the world are atheists on a side note.
1
***** yes they do. allah is another word for god or yahweh. actually if you want to get philosophical about it, everybody creates their own image of god in their own heads and so no one worships the same god no matter what religion or denomination within the religion they choose to belong to.
1
***** who knows what the fractional percentages are. on a side note, have you ever heard of the talmud? it is like the new teatament for jews. there are parts o it that say 100x nastier things about jesus and christians in it then you will find in the koran. i remember one part that said that jesus was spending the afterlife in boiling feces. i can't remember the website but i have no doubt that it is easy to look up. the reason why i mentioned this is because i don't think that there are any jews out there that look at christians or jesus today like that. with muslims, it's pretty much the same way. there might be a few although most of them are against western nations for past actions and don't correlate it with christianity. some might correlate it with zionism but even that is a political movement and not a religious one.
1
Seiyu Call where do you hear this bullshit? this would be the no#1 story all over the world and the american and british presses would be gloating and more than eager to do these stories. fox news would've done a 24 hour breaking news story on this one if it were true. they do more than enough bogus stories as it is and for them to pass up on a story like that indicates to me that there is no truth to anything that you have to say.
1
***** out here fascism is defined as a merger between the corporation and the state. if that is happening then we all have elements of fascism in our countries.
1
CovjekXX we need to all quit falling for the tricks of the nationalist propagandists and quit arguing with each other over which leader is better or more powerful. they are all corrupt, power hungry people out to achieve what they perceive glory for themselves. it has always been that way and it still is that way today. as simple peasants/citizens would should refrain from falling for these tricks that have been played for thousands of years and protest them by all of us being civil and friendly with each other. that will scare all of the world leaders that are power hungry.
1
Samdo123 why can't RT be a state run propaganda channel if it has headquarters in berlin and DC? that makes no sense at all. who owns it? putin owns it therefore that is who controls the media there. where they have expanded their headquarters doesn't matter one bit.
1
Joseph Griveas what do you think of vice's coverage of the conflict in ukraine?
1
Jacob Carey or you could piss them off, encourage more growth and make them stronger by killing their leader.
1
Brian Busch if obama did that then that would be a huge mistake though. obama is doing what he is supposed to do and that is provide airstrikes while letting the iraqi shiite militia deal with ISIS on the ground. if obama sent troops in then that would inspire more kids to come and join ISIS.
1
Marco Torres bush would've attacked and almost the entire country would've been pissed off at him for doing it too.
1
DSkehan2004 i don't understand that logic. bush got us into iraq on either lies or faulty logic. obama got us out. that alone trumps all other comparisons. obama>bush.
1
Turφ ¼²° rand paul sold out and is just another bribe taking politician. besides he would never get elected because he wears a toupee. that would be embarrassing watching him sitting with other world leaders at a g- summit with that rug on top of his bald head.
1
Vinnytsia could you all click on the translate button for us. most of us don't know cryllic.
1
+wigster600 the southern states wanted there independence in order to preserve their economic system that included slavery. why do you guys even bother trying that mental gymnastics on us all? is is some kind of brainwashing scheme?
1
***** there were an awful lot of people that he killed for russian people to just gloss over and forget about. i believe it was in the several millions as a matter of fact.
1
Ptiza Govorun i think that you are ignoring the fact the gulags were death camps designed to work the prisoners to death. often times the crimes were petty and understandable too. a farmer grows a seasonal harvest, he and his family are starving and the stalinist government gives the farmer five years in the gulag for "stealing" a little bit of the crops that he grew in the first place. that's one of the fucked up things that stalin used to do to the people. the comparison game over who is worse is only an attempt to deflect attention off of the evil things that stalin did.
1
Foerdi94 a critical thinker will stick to the topic and not try to change the discussion. everybody knows about the usa's dirt. we also know plenty of stalin's dirt too. trying to deflect by playing the game of "oh yeah, well what about what these guys over their did" shows an uneducated person who doesn't know how to debate.
1
Foerdi94 no wonder putin hates the internet. lol
1
***** i didn't say that he banned it. i said that he hates the internet. i suppose that there are too many ideas floating around that he doesn't want russian people to hear about. still i wouldn't be surprised if in the future you find that there have been more restrictions put on your internet usage and then later even more restrictions until you can no longer talk to or anybody or download anything outside of russia.
1
***** i suppose so but still i don't think putin wants you all to start getting ideas that are opposed to his own ideas. you all could learn a few things and start to develop opinions that go against his plans for russia. i think that this is why he doesn't like the internet.
1
***** that's good. i don't think that putin really likes that very much though. i think that he would like to narrow the range of opinions in russia.
1
***** putin has been making some stances lately that most of the world doesn't like. i don't want to debate whether he is right or wrong because it seems to be a lot more complicated then what the presses all over the world are saying. still nevertheless he made a decision knowing full well that most of the world wouldn't back him.
1
Ptiza Govorun the truth is that stalin was a mass murderer of his own people and i'm assuming that you are part of the people that he was mass murdering. also the west has a whole array of different kinds of people with different kinds of opinions and ways of living. what people in the west take pride in is "living and let living" or at least that is the ideal that most of us try to live by and look down at fellow people in the west who seem to not want to live that way.
1
Ptiza Govorun the idea of praising a psychopathic despot like stalin is disturbing to many of us out west and i would think that it would be a lot more disturbing to russians and people in CIS countries. its like you all haven't heard the real history and for people who at least believe in the ideals of freedom of information and want to know the truth about history, its disturbing just from a human being's point of view who values freedom. you are talking about police shootings as though this was what happens everyday in every city in the usa. the policemen who do these things are bad people who probably snapped under the presure of being a policeman. its still better than being a journalist who has to worry about being murdered for writing an article criticizing putin for something that he did or said. also i am curious about what freedoms you would like stripped away from yourself and your fellow citizens?
1
***** it would be something to think about for russians to try to prevent another person like stalin to rise up and do the bad things that stalin did. you can compare it to whoever your leaders are and see the patterns. i don't mean to imply that putin is a lot like stalin because i don't think that he is like stalin but it is still important to know about him so you all won't be fooled in the future. "those who don't know their history are doomed to repeat it" i'm not sure who said that but it is a common phrase that educated people tend to have memorized.
1
***** "who controls the present now controls the past. who controls the past controls the future."-george orwell from his book "1984" which gives the classic look at totalitarian dictatorships and how they retain their power over the people. part of the propaganda that is used is controlling the press and writing the history books in ways where lies and coverups are used. if the putin government wants to rewrite the history books and not give the facts then i would say that they are looking awfully suspicious to me.
1
***** i know that there is no such thing as an unbiased history book but some things are just too big to cover up like the mass murders and purges that stalin would do. even out here in the usa back when i was a teenager in high school, i still learned about the genocide of the native americans and the evils of slavery and the evil of interning japanese during ww2 in class and in the textbooks. there are some smaller details that were omitted but at that level they were supposed to keep it very rudimentary.
1
Ryan b what is basically the dunning-kruger effect?
1
Ryan b that sounds like most people.
1
Wu Tang Forever why don't they go and protest outside the mafia bosses houses who are behind all of this corruption? that sounds like it would be more effective then trying to stop this expo.
1
Paul Raver you are describing ways that the democratic republic has been corrupted. you can use the same kind of logic to say that any country's form of government isn't what they really practice.
1
pseudocomrade09 i'm a progressive and i have no idea what you are talking about.
1
richard salvator democracy works if you give local and state officials more autonomy to counter-balance the federal government.
1
Paul Jacobs a journalist has to have proof of something before they can come right out and say something. hard evidence isn't enough. at least that's how journalist ethics is like in the usa even though many people in the mainstream press have broken that rule in the past.
1
Paul Jacobs i suppose so. news stations were always getting sued with their local reports and so the general rule became for journalists to be careful with what you say, how you word it and don't jump to any conclusions without proof. that kind of thing is ingrained in their heads when they are studying journalism.
1
Paul Jacobs i suppose so. maybe simon is still a little scared of the pro-russian forces. you know that they are watching these videos right and he is obviously right there.
1
Carlos Manuel Pineda Troncoso i wish that they could just respectfully separate into their own independent countries but most of them don't seem to want to do that. the usa-eu side as well as the russian side don't seem to want that either.
1
Paul Jacobs it sounds similar to when texas declared it's independence from mexico. nevertheless, the ethnic makeup is what it is in these regions. the best way for them all to make peace would be to let the people in each region decide for themselves in a fair and unrigged vote. it's either that or see an escalation of the war that is already happening now.
1
Paul Jacobs hmmm, they made monumental strides when it came to space exploration just like the usa. other than that, nothing else that i can think of.
1
Reg Varney everybody's coverage of this has been tainted with extreme bias. nobody's coverage of this has been great at all.
