Ford really nailed those 69/70 Mustangs. Growing up a friend’s brother had a Mach one in dark green: still one of my favorite cars. This Boss 302 is a real treat. Thanks Tedward❤

The Veglia gauges are all so beautiful they look like custom jewelry. Compared to modern Ferraris, I think with all of the computers, turbos, I think they lost the plot. Thanks Ted.❤

I have a regular C6 and agree that it is just a gorgeous design. This 427 one in blue is lovely. I’m also glad that you noticed the heavy clutch: my car’s clutch is also heavy.

Lovely car, Ted. To me this era is right before everything went turbo/infotainment crazy, and I prefer the analog nature of the DB9. It just looks right.❤

@devn3813 Like how much are they saving by not just putting a 2.2 4 cylinder in this thing? That three cylinder is going to become legendary for grenading.💥
22
VW/Audi always do such a nice job on interiors. Have a good weekend, Ted.

This one brings back the memories. I had a 300ce for a short time (a careless girl backed into it full speed and totaled it).😢. It was red and beige interior with amg wheels. I got constant compliments even though it was elderly at that point. Later, I got a modern E350 and hated it immensely. It was so blah…. This 500E has way more character. You pick the best cars to review, Ted.👍

Amazing review Ted. A nearly 60 year old car that drives well in modern traffic, and looks stunning🥰♥️.
17
Mercedes & BMWs of that era were so much more solid and yet characterful than today’s rolling turbo computers. Quality. Btw: I like the fancy camera work, Ted. It’s nice to see you enjoying the car.❤
17
I love these old Ferraris (and indeed Italian cars in general) because it sounds like a wild animal lives beneath the hood. Ted is so right: modern cars are rolling mega computers. The polished rawness is just amazing. Ted: hope your drama subsides in a positive way. ❤

Good video, Ted. It’s beautiful and fast, but I kind of miss the elegant, analog controls, the theatrics of the NA engine, real exhaust noise over fake, and the beautiful gated manual transmissions. I guess I prefer vintage Ferrari to new.
13
GM turbo 3 cylinder = Scary proposition. Toyota turbo 3 cylinder = Sign me up.😂😂
13
Cool little car! My MS Lesbian gym teacher had a 914, likely a 4 cylinder and it really stood out in the 80s. I didn’t know anything about cars then and thought it looked like a toy. Hers was like a light blue with orange.
12
Another good video Ted. I own a C6 (among other weird items) and it would be easy to put it into a hillside on cold tires.😂😂 (don’t ask me how I know). I think you are right, the C8 is not really a beautiful work of art, but it is a statement that GM can play with the world class sports cars. I also like how they made it a live-able car. But I also noticed the paddle shifters, and thought there goes the infamous bean counters. Some aluminum shift paddles couldn’t have added but a few more dollars and greatly added to the experience. Truthfully when I upgrade my Vette it will likely be a high spec 3lt push-rod. This car is just way too fast for my driving skills and wallet.
12
You are such a nice guy, Ted.❤ You are also very brave. I would be terrified to drive one of those cars. Absent minded people like me are safer in hoopties.😂😂
12
Well, that v8 really fixed the TR6. I remember writing after you last drove one that the engine was uninspiring or something similar. The v8 completely changes the equation. The color is very pretty as well.
11
It is a looker. The color combo is pretty.🥰 I like that it’s not all crazy looking like a Lambo.
10
Ted, your Lexus is so calm and refined you would never know if has any relationship whatsoever to my coarse old 4 Runner winter buster.😂😂😂
10
That car is an eyesore. The old 1 series is cute.
10
@2easy007 They could have upgraded the Hemi like GM/Ford do with their v8s.

Tedward: Amazing job. You are the man🏆. Not only interviewing, but driving smoothly. If that was me I would have been nervous and crashed that big tank within three minutes.😂😂😂😂😂

I would love to buy an Arnage from this era which I could afford except for two factors. First, I am Community College professor, and people will generically think I am getting rich off public funds which is not the case at all. But appearances matter. Most folks don’t realize that Depreciation is what makes an Arnage in the same price category as far more humble cars. 2. If something breaks that is really bespoke Bentley, the parts cost scares me: my husband can do the mechanicals on most stuff, but it’s a risk. For now, I’ll watch Ted❤

Wow, that little 356 drives so nicely for being 70 years old. Just think: someone in the 50s comparing a 356 with an MG TF or something similar. No comparison. ❤
8
Lovey autumn drive, Ted. The Pagoda is so pretty, glamorous and elegant all at once. I can imagine Elizabeth Taylor and Monty Clift driving one laughing as they gossip. ❤

@gbw4908 Really. The electric cars don’t sell; there is an ancient power grid that barely handle a hot spell or a cold snap; many, many Americans have classic cars as a hobby. We have a dozen or so (nothing exotic), and in our neighborhood we have 3 model Ts, two Jaguar e types, a Porsche, a Model A, Tr6, and it goes on from there. I don’t see people enthusiastic about the sound and traditions of ICE will ever die. They can keep the dishwashers on wheels.
7
That car seems so calm and autobahn ready. ❤
7
This is such a beautiful car and to my eyes more tasteful and less gaudy than the competition. 👍
6
Amazing condition. Normally I only see 280Z in need of restoration. Someone loved this one.❤
6
Lovely little gem of a car. I really prefer this era of cars even though I was not even alive when they were produced. ❤
6
Ted-my absolute favorite❤. It’s like driving a piece of Art Deco fashion. It amazingly still looks fast to me: sleek, sinister and sassy. I have a Mark 7 the sedan version, but the restoration is stalled while other stuff gets a little love. I agree with you about the upgrades. The antiques can be difficult to drive in modern traffic with 1940s technology and driving speeds. Thanks for this one and Happy Holidays.❤
6
Such a pretty GT. I would never want to go to work: just cruise in the DB7. Thanks Ted.❤
5
@ElliWoelfin It is a Lesbian car! ♥️. Another faculty member, a guy in English, had a mg midget that the boys would pick up and carry off. Sometimes they would put it in a yard 1/2 block away.😂. But they were too afraid of Ms. C to touch the 914😂😂😂👍

I love the styling of just about any Triumph (Michelotti) and especially the Italia which to me looks like a baby Maserati. There is a guy in the NJ/E. PA area that my partner and I see at Carlisle Imports or the Brits on the Beach in Ocean Grove. I just stand around drooling at the Italia. But after seeing your video the engine is pretty non-dramatic compared to say our Fiat Spider (which is laid up long story) where the little twin cam really sings. But this Tr4A is so much sweeter than an MGB in every way. Thanks Ted: always something to learn. Ps. I hope your drama abated. My week was filled with it including a tense Department meeting. ThankGod for weekends, lol.❤
5
Ted: You do such a good job of explaining the antique cars. I really enjoy the old stuff. All of stainless or chrome interior gauges and pieces. Just such a lovely car. ❤
5
I love that this car is not laden with ipads everywhere. It has enough to enjoy the car’s potential, but not enough for distractions. Lovely blue shade as well. ♥️🥰
5
I always thought those Spiders were super slow. Tedward has cured me of this false notion. What a fun little car.
5
It does look amazingly Defenderish from the outside. The interior is 100% Jeep. Not sure if that is good or bad. Neat concept though.
4
Thanks for another amazing video. To me the interior is just spectacular. All of the lovely gages, knobs and the bakelite steering wheel.❤. Just lovely. Such craftsmanship. This SL, the XKs, E-Types, of this era all have such character that seems to be lacking in today’s more computerized cars. Btw. The bearded guy (owner?) has lovely eyes and seems really sweet.
4
That was a fun ride. The tan interior lightened things up just enough. Have a good 4th Tedward🎉🇺🇸
4
Hm…. This 3 cylinder or a used Lexus LS? 😂😂😂. I don’t know why a company known for unreliability and trying to claw back would use a 3 cylinder turbo engine instead of a I4.
4
Your M5 is looking fantastic. I love the BMWs of that era-I have a Z3 2.8 & an earlier e30-the e39 5 series is so classy.
3
That is such a nice vehicle and I’m happy for you, Tedward. The red seats are so pretty and it seems so comfortable. Good choice.❤
3
It is so handsome. My husband threatens divorce if I get one. Afraid he will spend the rest of his life working on it.😂😂😂
3
You nailed it, Ted. BMW’s new turbo monsters are big and fast, but lack the Soul of their earlier cars. The new ones are pretty ugly too with those oversized grills. I have an e30 and Z3 in my little collection and they are fun, relatively simple cars. I wish BMW could get back to this formula.
3
Ted: you nailed the reason why I love the Xks over the E-Type: the XKs look sinister😊💀👍
3
I’m glad they got it sorted for you, Ted. I really like your interior, and it looks like a really peaceful driver. 😊
3
Wow…. I didn’t realize the newer 911s were THAT expensive😮
3
Wow. That Group B must have been wild with this car, Lancia Delta Integrale, GtI, etc. really cool little car. ❤
3
It looks ok, I guess. Why does someone buy this thing over a used Lexus? Or Honda…. Or Mazda…. Or Toyota…😂. I wonder.
3
Tedward is so right about the ipad not hogging up space on the dash. That curved wood is just lovely. That is one beautiful car. Thanks Ted❤
