@stevejones9290 Most people tend to be more comfortable around people like themselves. Even if they are not racist. Our loyalties are still Family, Clan, Tribe and then maybe something else. Only today Clan and Tribe have been replaced by Protected Classes and one Religion.

@EllieMaes-Grandad Once Islam gains a firm enough foothold that it can dominate elections even though it is not a majority. Then you can expect to see an increase in conversions from people who want to be on the winning side. IMO this is how Islam spread so rapidly in the 1st Millennium. Islam has built in policies that can be used to actively discriminate against non Muslims.

@lolitapitpong3826 There was major immigration of European Jews out of Central and Eastern Europe at the time. Can you blame them for wanting to leave.
17
Great work if you can get it. 😅 In other uses of language it is called grifting, working the system or BS's your way to the top.

Use non numerical figures for her pay statement. That will teach her

Do you mean illegally? Legal immigrants can make for very good citizens. Note l said CAN. The problem l see from the US is you are gaining an excess of young men illegally immigrating into Britain not because they see a better future but because they see suckers who will take care of them. IMO certain questions need to be asked. 1) Just who is paying for all the nice Zodiacs they drive up onto the beaches of southern England. Along with their uniformly all the same life jackets and the 100 hp outboard motors from Yamaha, Honda or Mercury. 2) What happens to the Zodiacs? Do they get off the beach and go back for another load? Do they get seized? 3) How are these "asylum seekers" getting to France in the first place? None of them look under nourished. They all seem to have the latest cell phones. 4) From the reports l see the UK has. Housing crisis. UK residents are waiting lists for government owned housing. Who gets preference. And when are the residents of the UK saying enough.
14
They will be allowed to vote,,,as long as it's for Labour
13
As someone who lives in that city l for one will never forget.

One of the few land borders that can be seen from orbit
11
The idiocy of todays world never fails to astonish does it.
10
And all the recent "asylum seekers" will of course have no interest period.
9
Can't you have the police arrest them for "offensive behavior"?
9
I used to subscribe to National Geographic, Scientific American and read Nature at the local library. Quit subscribing over 20 years ago. You could see the trend then.

@GilbertdeClare0704 Anytime you hear "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you" run like the blazes.

Britian as a nation has its share of history that is shameful. What nation doesn't. It also has a more as a nation and as a people it can and should be proud of.
8
All the effort that Ireland has put into restoring Gaelic will go for nought when it is replaced by Urdu, Arabic or Pushtu.

I didn't move mine and now I'm a zillionaire with a bigger willy. First liar never wins. 😊

@mannylikestoanimate No. We know there was an English seaman who got shipwrecked in Japan. It makes an interesting story and TV show. But we know he didn't change Japan. Both he and the black individual were mere blips in the history of Japan. About as significant as Henry VIII's trumpet player.

@Winstonsmithsalias Depending on the species of Wisteria it can collapse arbors and fences. Thankfully l don't live in the botanical range of Kudzu. Although we have Wild Cucumber. Which while it can be pretty will grow over and choke out just about anything. When it floors it looks like the supporting plant or structure has frosting spread over it.
7
@wjf0ne But l thought all those African immigrants were doctors, engineers and other educated professionals.

Insurance companies have far more power to punish you than the state does.

Yes the RAF was attacking military targets pre Blitz. Plus pre Blitz the Luftwaffe was attacking Chain Home radar stations and airfields on the South Coast. What is known as the Blitz started when Geman bombers attacking the docks in the East End missed their target and hit a residential area. Churchill ordered the RAF to attack Berlin. Then the Germans switched to hitting civilian centers. One thing the Poles were not is stupid. They knew they were next on the list. Of course they were stationing troops along the frontier with Germany. I remember a quote from a Polish leader being caught between Germany and the Soviets. On one hand we will lose our freedom. On the other we will lose our souls. Another thing that often gets forgotten about is the Kyten (sp) Massacre when the Soviets executed thousands of Polish officers.

@mrbenn1489 There is an old joke. "How to keep a (insert ethnic, religious, racial identity here) occupied for hours." The joke consists of a sheet of paper with the instructions "See other side" printed on both sides.

Try converting an empty mosque into a church in Saudi Arabia. I want clean electricity in enough abundance that oil production falls to that only needed for applications where it is not used as fuel. That electricity can be generated by renewables (1), geothermal, nuclear and someday fusion. I really don't care which. Because then the Islamic countries that just happen to be sitting on a sea of oil will have little other income. Let them eat sand. Maybe it's time Western countries nationalize the holdings of certain other countries. It was fine when it happened to the West. 1) Renewables include direct Solar (PV Panels or Heat) or secondary Solar such as wind, wave, ocean thermal and hydroelectric. Another renewable is tidal.

Could part if this have anything to do with the politicians quite simply not giving a rats behind about that segment of society.

A million? Try 5.

Turkeys voting for Thanksgiving.

@SparkyJohn111 Just what is stealthy about it.

@Soulsalivation It be what it be Watson.

In town electric makes more sense. At least in terms of cars. Outside of town. Not so much. At least back then battery fires weren't an issue. One also needs to remember that at this time cars, trucks and buses powered by any of the three were seen as a way to remove horse manure from the streets.
5
That's "fiery but mostly peaceful".
5
Shhhh. Don't tell Jess Philips.
5
@paulie-Gualtieri. Salisbury Plain Training Area?

I'm white and have zero interest in skiing. Does that make me black? If a black* individual is into snowboarding** or skiing does that make them white? * Personally I hate the terms white, black, yellow etc. It smacks of bigoted thinking no matter the source. Just my opinion. ** Break dancers might be really good at snowboarding.
5
@EnyawYorlig I am assuming (yes I know what 'assume' means) he means Simon. Simon from what l can judge is not a fool.
5
Isn't that the way it always works. The policy makers never have live with the results of yheir policies.

@candy-le4nh In some ways l am. But l also realize that entertainment is limited by the tools they have at hand. Personally l have no issue with using black actors in a production of Shakespeare. It's about the language, not the flipping actors anyway. But racial substitution for historical persons just to score points or claiming that X was black, gay, trans or whatever because it makes the backers feel good is horseshit. You may as well cast a Scotsman as Shaka Zulu (1). 1) Tell me the Zulu were not an expansionist imperial state.
4
@crisdeeming2758 When was the last time the UK was food self sufficient? As far back as the American Civil War the UK was importing wheat from the US.
4
Another reason the US decided to take action was the Barbary Pirates, local sultans etc were basically running a protection racket. The European powers at the time had other concerns. A little thing like the Napoleonic Wars for one.
4
@neddyseagoon9601 It's not like Britians or other Europeans invented the written word. Using symbols to convey ideas, concepts, or specific things likely originates in the following areas. The Fertile Crescent, the Yangtze or Yellow River valleys and Mesoamerica. I think there is some question whether Egypt developed the idea completely independently. But use of the written word is an entirely different matter. I remember seeing a statistic concerning the publishing industry from around 2003. Just Spain alone saw more published in that year than the area from Morocco to Pakistan. Granted a large percentage of the books published in Spain might have been trashy fiction. If the supposedly literate swath from Morocco to Pakistan saw that little what does it say about Sub Saharan Africa.

Hunter Gatherers also tend to eat a lot more organ meats than agriculturalists. But if the agriculturalists are also raising livestock they may have a much more reliable source of animal protein.
4
@cardinal-fang Or stupidity.
4
In all likelihood if you were living in a predominantly black or brown country that was seeing unlimited immigration Europe or any day of the Anglo-sphere nations and objected to it the liberals (1) would agree with you. 1) Liberals in the modern sense. Not the classical.
4
Dianne Abbott 2.0?
3
Invading armies? Hordes more likely. Just wait until Clan and Tribal fueds take hold.
3
If it is so cold why are they there?
3
Not too many hockey players, luge riders (can't call them Lugers, it might cause somebody to have the vapors), speedskaters, ice skaters of any type really, ski jumpers, curlers doing curling (not to confused with hurling), cross country skiing or biathlon. Although I remember the US and Jamaican bobsled teams tried using Olympic Class sprinters in the four man bobsled teams. Yah, the Jamaican Olympic bobsled team. Heck they may still be doing it.
3
And high diving. Not a lot of fencers too. And we must do something about th hose white fencing suits.
3
@johnholmes5674 And face it. Electric vehicles will get taxed extra to make up the revenue lost from decreasing tax revenue on liquid fuels. After all your EV is just as damaging to road surfaces. Plus all the other things the money junkies in London, Paris, Berlin, DC and numerous state governments love to spend it on.
3
Prejudice, bigotry and racial hatred are perfectly acceptable when they do it.
