  22. Every year prospective medical school students have several hurdles to jump. One is their MCat score. Think SAT for med school. The second is their GPA. Every year there's a different GPA required. The third is interviews at prospective schools. Plus there is a financial hurdle. Not the price of tuition. The medical schools charge you a fee to APPLY in the first place. The higher the schools reputation. The higher the fee.

  27. The idea of workplace safety rules is great. Certain practices, lock out tag ought for instance. Crane lifting procedures, sling types, rigging angles (the strength of the lifting device basically decreases by 1 x sin of the angle from the verticle) are only common sense. The biggest safety problem is people how do unsafe things. Use grinders without eye protection etc.

  33. In the Bush ll administration we had Bush Derangement Syndrome. I was with my morning coffee group one day and somebody was complaining about Bush's public speaking and how he sounds like an idiot. My response was if we want somebody who is a glib speaker lets just elect a used car salesman.

I'm all for getting rid of the bad apples. If a law enforcement officer is abusing his or her authority I expect action to be taken. But to expect perfection out of any organization made up of human beings is shear lunacy. I can just I imagine the type of organization that would be setup by some people. It would be staffed with social workers and conflict resolution councilors. If there was an situation that required a response first they would have to meet to reach a consensus.

  35. I agree. This is question of defending sanity vs pushing truely insane ideas. But (theres always a but) we also have to recognize that Gender Dysphoria really does exist. And in some cases the best option for some individuals is truely transition. And in those cases that is a decision best left to an adult after intense therapy. The absolutely last therapy should be the knife. Forcing children onto thus path is child abuse of the first order.

When in reality it All the News They Think You Should Get. I dont object to any news outlet having an opinion on politics. But it belongs in the Editorial Pages.
