  21. @michaelsteane9926  Well.. The only thing I remember reading, is that during the 18th/early 19th century, the Bengalis were the best weavers in the world. And that was one thing that brought them great wealth. Apparently the British stole some of their techniques/designs. (The Paisley pattern is one of those: you can blame a Scotswoman for that! 😏) Plus, "Clive of India" stole much of their treasury.
