@mimiace9361 Charles??? He was not a playboy or a party lover. He had a social life, as you'd expect but he was much more into playing sports or dinner parties than wild partrying and he certainly wasn't a drinker or falling out of nightclubs like Harry.
5
its not all that surprising. Both parents IMO spoiled him, like a lot of divorced parents do. And I think that Harry was always flakey but for years, he kept within certain boundaries and the RF covered up some of his wobbly behaviour.. but Meghan encouraged him to burst out of the royal bounds
5
@Raim M. No, I'm not wrong. the monarchy is not show business. THe queen is the most important person followed by Charles. Diana didn't mean to cut him out at first but later she did use her charm to work against him. And she certainly wasn't the best of people. She was well meaning but she could be a very angry person, lashing out at people. Even her friends said that she fell out with most of them at times,
5
She didn't sacrifice her life at all. She died from an accident...
5
@CocoaPuff01 charles was nowhere near his 40s. He was 32. And Im sure Diana knew of his affair wth Camilla well before they got married
5
How did he desert them? Diana was the one who started to look for a divorce... she wanted out of hte marriage, at least in some of her moods. Charles did not desert his sons
5
@krystynadey7801 dont talk nonsense
5
Only because George was so much hated. Caroline was no heroine...
5
@mona2242 You're kidding? Diana was having an affair with a married man, and when he went back to his wife and then broke off the affair, she went on phoning him and his wife, till the police were called in. She did not apologise and call it quits at all....
5
@rosytheriveter2538 She does about the same amount of work.. Diana didn't have a very full programme of engagement in her first couple of years of marriage. Kate was part time becuase William was not then a full time royal...
5
@tessdurberville711 well yes. Why would anyone do anything so silly and dramatic as to walk out at a wedding. the sort of thing they do in sit coms. If Diana really felt unhappy about marrying Charles, she should have broken off the engagment in its early stages, whihc would not have been easy... but would have been better than some silly walk out
5
what people?
5
@queenashantee1957 Had she?
5
@lickmypickle922 if they didn't' love each other and the marriage was planned, how was she following her heart?
5
@lesleymcshanemitchell9651 No, the Spencer girls had the usual kind of debby jobs.. in offices. I believe Sarah worked with Vogue for a time. They did not work in the queens offices.. Jane married Robin Fellowes who DID work for the queen, but she married and was a housewife and mother. Sarah married too within a few years. I woud not say that Charles and DI were ever VERY happy, even in the first year, Diana was ill with bulimia and then with post natal depression.. and I think that even though Charles did stay away from Camilla, Diana imagined he was still seeing her. Then according to herself when they had Harry which was in 1984.. the marriage went completely pear shaped and was not at all happy.
5
@patriciashenk8287 no, she was not pregnant, she was not murdered. It was an accident.. caused by Dodi messing around with everything..
5
@syedrehazbaji5170 They didn't force her. She said that she told her sister shortly before the marriage that she didn't want to go through with it and her sisters dissuaded her. But the night before the wedding one of the royal staff met her and they had a drink and she took his bicycle and rode it round the corridor singing "Im going to marry the POW tomorrow". If she did say something to her sisters, it was probably pre wedding nerves. If she had really really changed her mind, she would have gone to her mother, or ot the queen...
5
@user-gr8ii8jr9o Diana was adulterous so I presume she was a big joke
5
she was still a commoner. Only peers and royals are not commoners.
5
why could they not cry?
5
so why marry Chares if she knew he cared more for another woman than for her?
5
@sherrildawson9698 dont say such idiiotic things, He could marry the day after the divorce, if he had wished. So could Diana
5
what are you on about
4
People are extremely superfficial and dont want to accept that Diana however lovely wasnt at all easy to live with and that sehe wasnt the right woman for Charles.. but a rather plain woman was
4
@pearlmcfarland4920 I certainly dont think that is the case. Many people totally admire and support Diana to the point of claiming that she was a saint.. whereas Charles gets a lot of negativity
4
@deeannhale5327 She did fall in love with James Hewitt but he was not in love with her. She also fell in love with Hasnat Khan but he did not want to marry out of his culture and religion and he knew that Diaana could not adapt to life in somehwere like Pakistan as a doctors wife. Real life is a lot more complciated than movies and being in love does not solve all problems
4
the problem was that if he had to marry a virgin and he was the last royal who had to, he was not likely to find a girl close to him in age who had no past. And at 30 plus, it was probalby time for him to settle down.
4
what nonsense. Charles could not abdicate becuse he was not king. THe RF certainly would not have wanted him to step out of hte succession. @Gaeliclass
4
certianly the RF would not have wanted this, and Camilla herself was in love with her first husband and wanted to be with him, when she and Charles first knew each other. @Gaeliclass
4
@elaineglendinning9297 She did have mental and emotional probelms before she married him.
4
@aileenthorne4656 what nonsense. They are glad to be king and queen
4
@br5854 and why would his sister become queen. If Charles had given up his place in the succession, Andrew would be next in line and hten Edward.
4
@juliawilly9151 She had a right to try and find a man. her boys were growing up and she would nt be the focus of their lives once they started to grow older and start seeing girls
4
@Raim M. That's really not the case. She was not worse or better than most people
4
She was not meant to be the star of the show. A leading support player, yes but not the star
4
dimapez yes it does. People with title have noble rank. Royals have a royal title and rank. Diana was the daughter of an earl and dind't have noble rank
4
He died in hte war... was soemthing of a right wing sympathiser.
4
@lesleymcshanemitchell9651 he was NOT the queens equerry, dolnt make things up. Nobody left her alone at Clarence House, dont taklk such utter nonsense.
4
what cruel behaviour?
4
@ramal5708 have you seen Harry's behavour over teh past couple of years?
4
@CocoaPuff01 no, she didnt. She did sometimes call press favourites, but she did not deal with the sort of people who were papparazzi
4
@monique8641 She did not approve of the affair, and she did not want Charles to marry Camilla, when he got divorced. Over time, she' came to realise that Charles would never be happy witout Cam and he wasnt goting to give her up. and she grew to like her
4
what's odd about it? Grace had a stroke, not a heart attack and lost control of the car.. Dianas driver had been drinking and was speeding.
4
Did Dian show sisterhood to the wives of her lovers?
4
It seems veyr odd she was so happy with a man who was so foolsih that he got them killed, who was seeing his fiancee just before they were courting, and who never paid his bills
4
@girlwtf7616 I think she always loved Charles but not as much at first as she loved her first husband. But her marriage wasn't all that happy in that ANdrew was massively unfaithful and I think she began to appreciate Charles more and grew to love him and they seem very happy now after many years of marriage.
4
@auydithbraham-patterson2411 yes he was drunk a nd had taken Prozac with his booze
4
so why does she continually cling to Andrew's coat tails and complain if she's not invited to royal events?
4
@paytonsteele1775 And just because Diana had a bad marriage did not give her the right to get involved with married men... when she made such a fuss about Camilla stealing HER husband...
4
@rodneyroimatawhanga525 Not true. She had an affair wiht James Hewitt for a few years and she and the boys spent time with him... She also had a longish affair with Hasnat Khan, and the boys met him.
