  2. how did they do this since Dodi changed his plans frequently tht night, refused to use his normal driver or have his 2 bodyguars with him. He used a different car and went a different route to the one that he would be expected to take, so how would anyone set up an assassintion>

He was tough on Charles because C was the heir and was different to himself and he thought that by shouting and being tough, he could make charles into a different person. He was not affectionate in general, because it wasn't his way. He certainly wasn't happy with Andrew's behaviour in the past year...

  27. Not true. Charles was free to remarry once he and Diana were divorced but the odds were that he would wait a few years. And in the end he waited until after the QM died. By then the boys were grown up and the queen was ok wiht it

  35.  @ctgctg1  He didn't treat her badly an more than ANYONE in a bad marriage behaves. People have their bad days and snap at their partners even in a good happy marriage and when 2 people are tied together and unhappy, they are both going to be difficult and bad tempered. Charles did his best to look after Diana in the early years but she was ill and unhappy and he cold not treat her bulimia. Did he shout at her sometimes? yes and she shouted at him. But did he keep her locked up, refuse to allow her servants and money ? No. Did he take away her children or refuse to let her go out? No.

  36.  @ctgctg1  Of course the monarchy will back the heir.. but Diana had her own power, which she used very well in some ways, to win public attention. She was young beautiful and photogenic. So she courted the press and tried to get them on her side. However, she did not seem to realise that the press were not on her side because they loved her but because she was a good story.

  42.  @MsVivi-bq8zn  that was because he worked for the Met, and one of the big no nos, is having an affair with the person you are hired to protect. If Manakee was indiscreet, EVEN if they didnt have a full blown affair, then he would be transferred if not outright fired. The RF did not intervene, as far as I know, and they never ddi anything about her other affairs. She was free to get along with them as long as she was moderately discreet and did not sleep with someone who was working in the police for her. She was aware of hte risks of pregnancy, and too precautions
