  5. At the age of six, my son wanted to become a ninja turtle. The surgery wasn't available on the NHS, so we flew to Thailand and paid a lot of money to have a shell grafted to his body. That was eight years ago, and we can't buy a school uniform to fit over his body. Our son is increasingly unhappy. He's resents his parents for permitting him to undergo permanent life-changing surgery based upon a temporary childhood whim. I wonder whether pandering to the wishes of sexual predators who encourage children to adopt homosexuality is something similar.
