You only need to look at US trade data over the the last year to see talk of decoupling from China is BS, imports are still up around all time highs. Factories open and close in China all the time, so these videos are hardly evidence of anything.

You mean Tesla built in China?

11 dead they must be facking jokeing.

If you look at recent months US/China trade stats, imports into the US from China are still around all time highs. Nothing in trade data backs up any of these click bait $$ videos, businesses start up and fail every day, this looks like very weak circumstantial evidence to me. If I see actual trade falling then I might start believing the context of these videos.
1
If you look at US trade data imports from China, its back to pre Covid 2019 levels, so its not exactly a huge collapse either, regardless of how much we want to believe channels like this one.
1
That really hasn't happened, the world economy in general is slowing which accounts for most of these falls.

oooch seeing that 41 year old C# programmer, I would love to be 41 again :P

So the CCP is now forcing the kids to effectively eat McDonald's :P

@fitzwilliamdarcy3328 Fair point, I am not really sure that is significant given the US weaker economy, and then there was some post Covid demand still in early 2022 which is problematic to quantify.

@fitzwilliamdarcy3328 Again I am looking at US import data from China not Chinese data. Chinese data is in no way trustworthy and not worth discussing.
1
@Fleshox19-uz3qt The fact remains the US is importing goods from China still up around all time highs in recent months and that's using US data, it's just reliable data there is no room here for debate.

US trade data (not Chinese) shows imports from China are still very strong. I am not convinced by these videos until we start seeing Chinese imports tangibly fall.
1
@InformedKiwi Maybe but people are also possibly buying too much into popular click bait $$ negativity on China and of course we see a similar playbook used on Russia. I agree China faces a demographic issue and economic data is likely worse than the CCP release, but none of the US data supports it being anywhere near as bad as these video's. I don't like propaganda ours or theirs.
