The corrupt politicians of Ireland spend a fortune selling it. The corrupt media endorse the EU proposal. The people reject it. Then, the politicians and media talk about reflection and consultation. Then they ask the question again, and spend even more money pumping the people into submission. Keep voting until Brussels gets a satisfactory result. And, everywhere else the people are bypassed.

  49. I have been posting the same essential point in recent days. Pakistan is in an extremely vulnerable position. It is a society with a lot of tension bubbling beneath the surface. There are elements inside society that wish to launch a complete Salafist takeover. There are elements that aspire towards an extreme Salafist takeover. And elements that wish to commence sectarian war against Shia,and other minorities. Balochistan has separatists. The Pashtuns are looking at Afghanistan. And so on. Plus the Army. Plus the ISI which is packed with intrigue. And so on. Imran Khan is about the only individual who is able to prevent an implosion. And Washington got him removed for power. This will NOT end well.
