If those countries get caught and it's highly likely they will then they'd be sanctioned, remember all parts are individually numbered
2
@spongebubatz no you have not addressed the point raised by the original comment, neither the name or history of the airline have any bearing whatsoever in this case
2
Mayak no I'm very familiar, I also know that Putin litterly had to order Aeroflot to buy the SSJ-100. Outside of Russia there's literally just a handful of airlines operating these none of which are from China
2
Mayak No it is natural for Aeroflot to buy the best aircraft. China buys western aircraft but not Russian, why is that? What I said about Putin ordering Aeroflot to buy domestic aircraft can easily be verified, you're obviously frightened to do so
2
@zvakanaka2000 you really don't know anything about the aircraft industry do you? Ok if a western manufactured aircraft crashes in a third party country do you even know what happens? I'm guessing not, a team of engineers from the country where the aircraft was manufactured are sent to take part in the investigation. Now what do you think is going to happen if they find parts on a Russian aircraft that shouldn't be there? Again why should a company or an airline risk destroying their business just for Russia? Ok another example? Iran can't buy the SSJ-100 because of the sanctions on Iran, so your theory regarding sanctions obviously isn't true. Sanctions work, the current sanctions are far worse than those in 2014 and believe me they had a serious effect on the economy back then, the currency is still half its value than before 2014
2
@HATCH5T promised but still not delivered, why is that?
2
yes but can Boeing afford the delays and redesigns
2
It was a failure, it just couldn't compete with western aircraft
2
the aircraft has been stolen by the Russian goverment, so we see your happy to help a thief this has been noted
1
The major systems on the SSJ-100 are western and I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened with the MC-21
1
@heidirabenau511 Il-96 didn't sell the first time
1
I'm fairly sure Transaero didn't operate the 777
1
@nickolliver3021 you seem to be living in an alternative universe if you can't see it. Confidence in Boeing just isn't there anymore the only thing they've got going for them is Airbus just can't keep up with existing orders
1
But were they any good is the question
1
@derek20la never been to Russia have you
1
@shilenb wow you've got a short memory
1
@PNWElevatorAviation despite the fact that they tried to cover up problems with the MAX?
1
@CodyOnTheGo official investigations say otherwise
1
@declannewton2556 you've left out the fact that the SSJ-100 uses mainly western systems and was jointly designed by Boeing
1
@declannewton2556 we're not just talking about a few components, it has been built using sophisticated western technology because Russia lacks that technology. You're living in a fantasy world if you think we're going to see any significant changes. Putin litterly had to order Aeroflot to buy the SSJ-100 and that's the only way the MC-21 will also.
1
@НиколайЗинин-п1х The SSJ-100 is a commercial failure, you're right Aeroflot doesn't need this aircraft but they were ordered to buy it by Putin. As for Azimuth a tiny insignificant airline, the point being only a handful of non-Russian airlines have bought the SSJ-100, Azimuth have placed orders for the Airbus 220, a far superior aircraft. Russia is constantly making claims regarding their aviation industry, it however rarely delivers on these promises. The only thing keeping the SSJ-100 project alive is Russian airlines such as Aeroflot forced by the Kremlin the buy this. Of course the great ally of Russia China couldn't be convinced to buy it. Delays are typical with Russian aircraft because they lack the ability to produce large numbers, it has nothing to do with the the pandemic.
1
@declannewton2556 Dude? Have you even reached pubity? There's monumental difference between outsourcing components and being reliant on foreign technologies. I seriously doubt you have even been to Russia let alone flown on the SSJ-100.... you're clueless when it comes to Russia
1
@НиколайЗинин-п1х I suggest you visit the Aeroflot website where you will see that Aeroflot still has the SSJ-100 in its fleet, you can also visit websites that track aircraft where you will see Aeroflot using the SSJ-100 on its routes. Pobeda is the budget shot haul subsidiary of Aeroflot but it exclusively uses the 737. In any case even if another subsidiary of Aeroflot now has most of the the SSJ-100 aircraft, it is still an Aeroflot company. The pandemic only affected passenger numbers not the ability of manufacturers to produce aircraft. It can only affect the willingness of airlines to accept new aircraft.
1
@randomnyem there's far more foreign parts on a SSJ-100 than just the engines. The Il-96 didn't sell the first time around
1
@samuelscheffer3178 I think they're arguing about who supplies what and where they are manufactured
1
I'm sure Aeroflot had a similar policy regarding weight several years ago
1
As with most I hope they're successful but I have my doubts
1
@ThirdEngr Russia will struggle just to manufacture the volumes being talked about here
1
Sanctions related?
1
@chrissimmonds3734 wouldn't be sanctions if not for Putin
1
@chrissimmonds3734 this aircraft contains a lot of critical components from the west and I don't believe Russian claims that they've replaced them with Russian ones
1
@loumcast and yet testing on the aircraft are being carried out using the Pratt and Whitney engines. Rosaviatsia has already granted certification in Russia
1
@007furious according to Russian media they are planning on operating the first four next year assuming that testing goes well this year, but those will be with the Pratt and Whitney engines. The PD-14 engines won't be fitted until 2023 at the earliest, so despite them being shown at MAKS they obviously aren't ready yet.
1
Half Russia aircraft are leased via western companies, they are 100% western manufactured....... No it's not click bait, ridiculous comments
1
I doubt airports are going stop restaurants or bars selling alcohol.... they make to much money. I was on a Brussels Airlines flight once sitting next to a Russian who had obviously just bought two bottles of vodka from the duty free which he then consumed during the flight
1
@macwest6441 no you obviously don't think freely, you think and speak the like a person suffering from paranoia who has latched onto one too many conspiracy theories
1
@macwest6441 nope you have absolutely no sense of reality let alone intellect. You really need get a sense of perspective
1
The SSJ-100 is still heavily relient on the west for parts, the Russian made engines for the MS-21 still aren't ready and the Il-96 barely sold the first time
1
I thought Ryanair owned them now?
1
You must be joking
1
@bilalahmed2123 the Russian government has stolen billions of dollars worth of aircraft, you seriously think there will be a normal again?
1
@jorge8596 really? How have you arrived at that conclusion?
1
@zvakanaka2000 I think life for the Ukrainians would be easier if Putin hadn't invaded their country, started destroying it and murdering them. What would your solution be? Allow Putin to get away with it? Aircraft parts are regulated by the manufacturer, exactly why would a third party risk having their airline industry destroyed just to help Russia? Understand now, sanctions do work!
1
@amityandigeri97 you have a very active imagination, but you clearly have no idea about Ukraine or the situation and how it came about. You're very quick to blame the US but the truth is that Putin started this conflict, he refuses to allow Ukraine to escape his grip and Russian influence, grow a closer relationship with the west. He's has started spending the lie that Ukraine is actually Russia. Why can't the people of Ukraine determine their future, what gives Putin the right to decide? The USSR collapsed because it failed an oppressive system of government badly run for decades. Gorbachev came along to late to save it. By all means though provide some evidence that the US was behind a coup in the Soviet Union, but I know that there is none. Have you ever even spoken to someone who grew up in Soviet Russia? The part you've got right is that Putin went after the oligarchs that did not support him, but he did not get rid of the oligarchs.
1
@amityandigeri97 I would question the regarding Germany blocking Ukrainian membership in 2008 because at the 2008 Bucharest summit it was agreed Ukraine would become a NATO member. There's no way Finland or Sweden applied for membership back then, you only need to listen to the news today and it clearly states that this is the the first time that they have applied prefering in the past to remain neutral. Libya's Gaddafi had sponsoring terrorists in Europe for years he was responsible for the destruction of Pan Am flight 103 destruction over Lockerbie, why should Europe object to NATO attacking Libya? Also Gaddafi was killed by his own people. Bin Laden was responsible for the New York attacks using commercial aircraft, the US asked the Taliban to hand him over they refused. Murdering innocents? So you don't mind terrorists killing people in the west? But it's different when NATO went to war with the Taliban? You seem not to know anything about the collapse of the Soviet Union..... they had no money to pay the wages of the Building Regulations workers, to keep the mines and factories open, the oligarchs provided the money without them things would have been much worse. It's not uncommon for business men to become involved in politics anywhere in the world why should Russia be different?
1
Haven't they started charging for luggage?
1
@pikapikacool so we should just ignore the fact that they invaded Ukraine?
1
@pikapikacool actually the sanctions being imposed on Russia will absolutely effect safety...... they've stolen billions of dollars worth of aircraft you really think we should do nothing?
1
Got on a S7 flight once and was seated to two Russian people who stank of alcohol at 09.00. As the flight progressed out came the vodka, in all fairness they did insist I joined them.
1
@lolcatjunior Russia pulled out of that one, no doubt it will be completely based on stolen technology which is typical of China
