Russia is not the only source of gas of oil in the international markets, if Russia couldn't sell gas it would collapse, its state budget is funded by gas and oil sales, you're living in a fantasy world if you think Russia could cut sales to the west. Without Swift Russia would be isolated there is no alternative and why should other nations support a Russian created system? The interview was about how ineffectual the EU is and where of course the situation with Ukraine and Russia was discussed. Now sanctions have been in place since 2014 but because Russia is an authoritain state they had no effect on policy that doesn't mean however they've had no effect.

I pointed out that to say the Ukranie is wrong in exactly the same way saying the Germany is wrong and let's be clear it was you who first felt the need to try to correct the original comment without even bothering to check the accuracy of what were saying.
