@Emilechen In the later case that is incorrect. There are Native American reservations all across the United States, which are the equivalent of smaller autonomous regions. And by saying that I am not excusing how the Native Americans were treated.

@AutismIsUnstoppable Economically thats undoubtably true. However, if Putin gambles the fighting would be over quickly, and he could install a friendly regime. He might believe he could get away with it, and then weather the sanctions. Trouble is as we found out in Iraq and Afghanistan, it's relatively easy to knock off a less powerful military, it's a lot harder to bring about the postwar conditions you want without a massive investment of time and resources (which Russia does not have as you said).
2
Thanks for your service, but dude you are confusing the shit out of the unwashed masses. You are talking about the characteristics of the M224A1 60mm mortar, while showing video of a pair of M252 81mm mortars firing. Other places you are using video of M120 120mm mortars. Explaining how 60mm mortars are organic to the company level, while 81mm and/or 120mm mortars are organized at the battalion level would also have been helpful.
2
@CedarHunt You mean talking trash.
2
@well-blazeredman6187 L129A1. Great weapon.
2
You forgot to mention the M240L and Mk48. These 7.62mm x 51 NATO weapons are much lighter than the M240B. Mk48 Mod 1 was issued to US Army regular infantry in Afghanistan and performed well by all accounts.
2
@GhostScout42 So 'it goes everywhere' except that poor German farmer's muddy field? Haha. Just kidding. The Stryker and vehicles like it definitely have their place on the battlefield, but as good as they have become, commenters who think they can fully replace tracked vehicles are sorely mistaken.
2
@VacuumJockey Agree. Add the articulated design, to the relatively light weight and wide tracks, and you would be hard pressed to name any other armored vehicle in the world which can match it's mobility.
2
@jPlanerv2 Thats what I thought. Thanks.
2
Keep doing more videos. Thanks.

China's 'Belt and Road Initiative' is becoming a real S & M show.
2
@tomjackson4374 Ukraine might not recover all of their territory, but Russia will not prevail in this conflict.
2
@oviss5946 Funny how everyone overestimated Russia at the beginning of the conflict.
2
WHAT? The AC-130 is a totally different type of attack aircraft. Which is completely incapable of replacing the A-10.
2
@SaultoPaul Because it's implications are to simplistic. I.e. if you believe this, than you must believe all of that. People are more complicated.
2
@onarandomnote25 Wrong. Cappy specifically used the Rorschach analogy in the context of chosing sides, in particular which party is most to blame in the conflict. Although he stated he was not going to reveal his personal view, he nonetheless revealed it when he said he did not believe both parties were equally to blame. A Rorshach test when used properly reveals a complex suite of mental and emotional characteristics and preferences of a given subject, it is not a binary, simplistic query of whose side are on, or who do you think is to blame? If you want to ask that question than do so directly. But don't be surprised if you get some fairly nuanced answers. As for your parting advice, all I can say is you can stuff your condescension up arse bro.
2
@SaultoPaul We are just having a discussion bro. Cheers.
2
If things get hot with China in the Pacific, it's gonna be a naval and air show.
2
PKM is better at squad level, the M240 is better at platoon level.
2
@Brimwald As a guess the Marines think of themselves as riflemen, and maybe the 14.5 inch barrel was just too short, even though some of them had used the M4 in combat.
2
@charlesm.2756 Yeah I have heard the same thing. Grand Thumb has done a really good job on his channel of breaking down the pluses and minuses of modern DI versus piston on the short barreled AR platform. And putting aside their relative qualities in the 2000-2010 time period, the main advantages of a piston gun is just as you said automatic fire and suppressed operation. Even Larry Vickers, one of the originators of what became the HK416, agreed with that conclusion.
2
@bnolsen Let me also say that solutions to make the M4 (and even shorter Mk18) more reliable have been available since 2005. The mid-length gas system is a relative late comer to the game. The first solution was reengineering the bolt carrier group, of which the LMT is the best example https://youtu.be/026BNp0_2T8 This was following by more robust buffer tube springs. These two changes greatly enhanced reliability in the shorter barreled systems.
2
@DefaultProphet Sorry I have to disagree with the Chieftain, active defense systems will become as common place in the future, as reactive armor is today. And it will be absolutely intregal to an AFV's overall protection.
2
Can 50 M2 Bradley's make a difference? In such a large scale conflict...50 of anything is hardly going to make a decisive difference. Well except 50 nuclear weapons.
2
@knoahbody69 Russia has a fuel shortage?
2
Little Green Men 0/US Special Forces 1.
2
@Superior-g4j 🚮
2
@razor1869 That is just it. Even in our modern world, decisions of the greatest gravity, are often made based on emotion and fear. Not on a rigorous and logical evaluation of facts.
2
You seem to overlook the fact that if Latvia is attacked, even by little Putin's little green men------>NATO ARTICLE 5 IS ACTIVATED.
2
Hey Cappy...that tree line to tree line distance better not be much more the 500 meters. Because the weapon is a 5.56mm based carbine. So good luck if it's beyond 500 meters.
2
So what you are saying is Cappy and his fans should copy Prigozhin's and Wagner's actions. Oh boy.
2
What would be the use of Japanese advanced MBT's? Defense of their outer islands from Chinese invasion? Export? No one is invading Japan. And Japan isn't invading any country.
2
The Sahel Region is the most threatened ecoregion in the world by global climate change.
2
@nolongerblocked6210 Actually I was pre-apologizing to anyone else that had said the same thing in the comments before I did. I know Cappy is cool with corrections, because he liked a correction I had made on another video. Classy guy. Have a nice day also.

@kameronjones7139 Simple. Take a standard bunker/pillbox, even one constructed from wood timbers and earth. It might only extend a couple feet above ground level, with an gun embrasure toward the front, and one or two entrance points from a connected trench system. The occupants of said bunker/pillbox are reasonably well protected against most HE fragmentation effects, including loads with tungsten balls. The timber and earthen roof and walls being able to shield from both blast and fragments.* Thermobaric weapons are more effective because their effects can reach down into the interior passages in bunkers/pillboxes. *Of course, if an HE/frag shell, rocket or missile lands on or very near to a bunker/pillbox with an impact or delayed fuze than it's a different story. If it's a proximity fuze, coming in from above on a bunker/pillbox, than it has a chance to survive depending on the bursting height and size of the explosive charge.

@aflyingcowboy31 It doesn't really matter if there are still active groups of fighters? Are kidding? In Operation Iraqi Freedom, V Corps had to call a tactical pause to go after Fedayeen irregulars operating in areas that US forces had already moved through (and which were probably also colored in on maps back at CENTCOM headquarters). There are numerous other examples from military history as well. And yes the red areas on the map are presumably territory that Russian main force elements had pushed through and retain nominally control over. My point was in this kind of fight where the Ukrainians are already using irregular tactics, to assume that the Russians have sufficient forces to occupy and secure every road, every village or every forest in the shaded portion of the map is misleading.
2
@RomanHistoryFan476AD All about a bedrock of professional NCO's.
2
@joshuacampbell1625 In the Battle of Berlin, which took place in a smaller area than Taiwan, there were over 3,000,000 soldiers, 7,500 tanks and armored vehicles, and 50,000 artillery pieces.
2
@Stalkergames916 Go underground my son. Look what it cost the Marines on Iwo Jima. A tiny island.
2
@DerDudelino That weight for that should be placed squarely on the officers who planned and carried the operation.
2
@DerDudelino Very true especially in forested terrain.
2
Good luck with that.
1
@yabutmaybenot.6433 Of course not. But we have tried bringing democracy through military force in that part of the world. And it hasn't worked out too good.
1
I hope there are no high windows in Prigozhin's new Belorussian townhouse.
1
@Sarnar9784 So maybe we are going to see modern combat aircraft in something like the bare metal finish of WWII US fighters and bombers?
1
@The_ZeroLine I said it's rare in the aggregate, not absent. It does seem to be becoming more common in the previous 10 years. Maybe as a result of America's lengthy wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
1
@oscarosullivan4513 It does seem to be a standard theme in World War I films.
1
I'm sorry thats wrong according to our own doctrine--armor and infantry teams work closely together in modern urban operations.
1
@Taskandpurpose Understood. Keep up the great work. Best regards.

They ride on the top of BMP's and BTR's for the scenic views. Duh.
