"America" is both North and South America of Anglos' English, and the many many nationalisties within it are divided not by the conventional lines on maps but by dozens of different identities separated by country or region, height above sea level, century of coalesence of the community, and percentage of European and native genetic heritage. The mainstream press' categories do not reflect the reality lived by the "Latins" themselves.

  27.    Making it a state would probably make the people, American citizens all, who live there richer and better educated. That will probably cut their birth rate. In any event, they're going to be voting in Florida and the Carolinas whether Puerto Rico becomes a state or not. If you want to put your thinking cap on, take a look at the Articles under which Texas came into the Union: it has the right to split itself into four states -- and you can bet that it will do so as soon as the Democrats take over the government there. 20332 at the very ver-ree latest!

Then court supervised community service for life -- with no passport, and no contact with Russia. Parenthetically, my friend the excellent Francis A.J. Ianni recently passed away, a great loss. He rather started the last generation's fascination with fact and fiction about the Italian/Sicilian Mafia which he documented in a couple of good books. There may, however, be some room for a small party of conscience: Amash might be a model for that. McCain, Romney, and the mainline Republicans? They're Democrats, and that's that. The left? America has no left. A left starts when you hear somebody ask "Why would we need a fourth carrier task force?" There are currently sixteen or so, with another couple or three in the works... Just craziness.
