I am so grateful for you spending hours of your life on this so I only have to spend a few minutes lol.

You are just about to get the launch codes for armageddon when suddenly you hear "British Rail regrets that the 3.35 to Manchester will be delayed for 40 minutes and will no lnger have a buffet car due to equipment shortage. Due to the limited delay no refunds will be available".

Want to drive your enemies crazy ? Wrap an imaginary mystery up in an enigma and let it run for years.

I have been dogged for many years by a high powered female voice. Ah well back to the chores.
86
Just want to say in case events spiral that it has been a pleasure listening to you over the years Lewis.
80
Nothing quite as strange as folk trying to stop others from their legitimate hobby. Sadly the modern day equivalent is easily heard on the airwaves. They say power corrupts - absolutely right . 73

The most important messages are best hidden in plain sight. It is perhaps the simple symbolic sequence and type of content that forms the message ? We live in dangerous times. I sometimes joke about the boredom of number stations but they are no joke I suspect.

I am naturally sceptical about claims that support or pooh pooh concerns and prefer to look at evidence especially any changes in the population that can seen seen over a period of time. In my mind there is a clear correlation between the use of mobile phones and the general increase in stupidity of the population as evidenced over the past two decades. I challenge anyone to dispute this. 73. M7BLC

You are very mistaken - the biggest mystery in Short Wave radio is how I feel compelled to keep spending money on stuff on the off chance I just might need it for my next project (that never materialises !). Come armageddon I might just have the vital bits needed to get in contact with everyone - oh err I think I have just found the flaw in this plan.
29
I have bought a case of Jack Daniels just in case the SHTF. I will be fine.
27
The HF bands are full of weird stuff and it is increasing. That there may be method behind the madness is very concernng as it suggests that things may be coming to a head ?
19
What was once a vitally important piece of technology (to someone) is now just rust. Such is the march of progress. I am sure there is an important lesson to be learnt.
17
Oh dear - I do not have a good feeling about all of this. We should all ask officially for an explanation but I am not sure we will want to hear the answer.
16
The radio broadcasts completely passed me by at the time. I guess I was leading a sheltered life ? Good job we have Lewis to keep us up to speed these days 🙂.
15
Some of us may think that dead air is preferable to some of the rubbish that fills out the programming of some broadcasters ?

In my youth in the 1960's I used to huddle down in my bedroom with my old second hand radio set and listen to radio London and Caroline together with a raft of other stations including Luxenberg (who could forget Mike Raven's Blues show !) as an essential part of my musical education. Medium wave was always best in the daytime - night brought all kinds of interference and noise which my old set succumbed to all too readily. I get pirate radio but sadly my musical tastes are firmly locked back in time .
10
My feet are staying firmly on the ground !

I have started scanning AM CB and Ham frequencies and it is clear that there is still a hardcore of users (over this side of the pond but especailly the US) that love the modulation type and I must admit I am being drawn in too. M7BLC.
9
I have the perfect solution for all of the weird stations - I just don't listen to them. Clearly someone want's to send a message to us. I'm not listening. Good job we have you to do that for us Lewis 🙂.
8
Not much chance of a music copyright strike there !
7
I have no real interest in numbers stations per se but pictures of overflowing steins of beer I greatly approve of and could watch for ages. This perhaps explains why I am totally unsuited to spying .
7
I don't think anyone in ordinary life really understands how close to global conflict and disaster the world is coming to. The circumstantial threads of evidence are all around but overwhelm the senses so that their significance is lost. This is perhaps another clue that we should pay more attention to ?
6
Can they please all stay clear of the ham bands ? Getting fed up of the nuisance. M7BLC.
6
Sad reflection of the world we live in.
6
Is the opening statement a mea culpa ? In which case I own up to being one of those who assiduously watch your videos on the buzzer even though I really don't know why lol.
6
Obviously loved their Hillman Hunters ? Can't be all bad 🙂.
6
Is OFCOM allowing the death of all local radio should be the question. (there is no local radio anymore other than pirate stations).
6
We the public take communication for granted. Lewis provides us with the evidence that we really should not be so complacent. Far more effort goes into it than the public would believe. Excellent work.
6
Yes sounds just like the washing machine I used back then as a student. I always put it down to my self walking socks and dirty underwear arguing and protesting at being washed lol.
5
I will sleep much better tonight knowing that this mystery is now solved. 🙂
5
All passed by my event horizon - must have been down the pub ?
5
As a frequent flyer during the period in question I had no idea this was going on. Ignorance is bliss as they say.
5
As a new ham with only a UV5R at present repeaters are my natural goto for communicating but I have already experienced people keying up over my transmissions with more power to block what I am saying. I have resisted the temptation to lambast but sadly whilst most hams are great people the M7 callsign seems to attract a disgruntled few. 73.
5
Good grief - there is no way you are getting me up in the air on a hang glider just to get a bit of extra distance !!!
5
Blimey and theres me still stuck on classic hits !
4
All kinds of weird stuff on the HF bands these days including me making a 40 m QSO with a YouTuber. As I said - WEIRD STUFF ! M7BLC.
4
I still prefer my long wire antenna 🙂.
4
Just letting the wife they will be home for dinner ?
4
Pirate ? Must have nerves of steel - me I would tremble at every slight noise in the night or person walking behind me in quiet places.
4
Fantastic detail but now just history. The march of time and technology waits for no one.
4
Back in the good old days of 2G I used to insist on holidaying in signal blackspot areas of the country, The instant relief from headaches was unbelievable and created an enormous boost to my health and wellbeing for the period of my holiday. I guess the staff got a reciprocal boost of unpleasant symptoms ?
4
Musical genius - always noticeable by it's absence.
4
I would have loved to listen to this all the way through but I fell asleep soon after starting. I guess number stations have this effect on me ?
4
Interesting but I have enough to get my head around at the moment as a newbie without even more bands lol. Got to stop my brain going blank when the surprise of people actually replying to me on dx happens :-). 73 M7BLC
4
I have the perfect solution - I have no intention of joining meshtastic 🙂.
3
I was rather hoping for a new mystery Russian transmitter . A well .
3
Lifes too short now for me to waste time on other peoples chatter.
3
I have calculated the amount of coax I would need to connect my home qth to Saffron Green's antennas. Sadly it is unaffordable. 73
3
Brilliant photographs - I love these historically important photos which reflect a past that is rapidly becoming obscured by the passage of time.
3
I remember it well. A time of great excitement that rapidly degenerated into all kinds of nonsense that made CB virtually unusable. Strangely it is much better now that few still use it.
