The lead story about the clothes reminds me of when the classified documents problem with Donald Trump, Joe Biden, and Mike Pence (except that clearly the gift of clothes is much less consequential than retaining classified documents). When it was discovered that Biden and Pence had kept documents they shouldn't have along with the rest of the documents from their times in office the documents were returned and mea culpas were offered by both men. But Trump doubled down about how he hadn't done anything wrong, the documents belonged to him, and he proceeded to move additional documents around trying to hide them from the officials tasked with returning the documents to the secure national archives. Much like Joe Biden and Mike Pence, I suspect the Starmers didn't even think about this until after it happened and now they are embarrassed and are trying to make it right. And much like Donald Trump, I suspect Boris and other conservative Tories would still argue they didn't even do anything wrong.

  24. The problem with that is even in a WFH situation you often still have to work a regular schedule of set hours. Like Judy at 19:30 tells James, many people with a disability have better and worse days which is going to make working a fixed schedule impossible without the employer and co-workers being very accommodating about when or if the person works. Most jobs don't offer that degree of flexibility.

The problem is it should always be wrong and inappropriate, but for some women or girls it isn't. And when men and boys see other men and boys being rewarded by women and girls for such behavior then it makes the issue less cut and dry and more problematic.

  45. As an American I fully empathize with and share in the anger that Canadians feel about the US, Donald Trump, JD Vance, the other MAGA politicians and voters. Also with the feelings from any kind and caring, decent person from any other country around the globe. My nation has always had it's problems, but what's happening now is insane. Please remember, there are tens of millions of us who hate what is happening here too. And someone doing something violent to try and stop it would only play into their narrative and make things worse.
