Being a pacifist in a warzone is a hell of a brave thing. Stay strong, my dude!

All the building codes against tiny homes across the country are awful. It would solve at least some of the problem.
111
I'm glad this subject isn't being ignored.
71
It's called intimidation. Enforcers of the State have to make sure we know our place is at the bottom of the food chain. Got to collect that revenue for the lords of the land.
65
The only person damaging old Bankrupt Donny is old Bankrupt Donny.
58
It's unfortunate we can't stop being awful to each other.
53
Florida Gov doesn't have his head in the sand - it's firmly stuck up his ass.
52
HISTORY! Never forget!
51
The continuing problems of Australian Aboriginal kids ending up in the state systems is similar to the problems US Native American communities have dealing with the state child welfare services.
44
Trump "I love Wikileaks!" Mexico: "You could pardon Julian Assange and let him come live here." Trump: "What? I can't hear you over the sound of my helicopter."

That footage with the - cop - and the dog left me shaking. Not sure if it's rage or disgust.
38
"Curfew & Cops Are Not Aid for the Poor After Ida" - Hurricane or not, curfews and cops are never an aid for the poor. Haven't we figured that out by now?
36
The Gig economy is just the next scam of the Owners.
32
Having to bribe people to get vaccinated - how embarassing. And always nice to end on a good story. Awesome young woman - good job, mom and dad (and whomever else was a mentor to her).
32
Maybe when the death toll from individual disasters gets up in the four or five digits more people will be willing to acknowledge that there is a problem.

9:46 - I loved hearing Representative McBath making the same point about women who suffer a miscarriages I've been posting about since the anti-Roe memo was leaked. The thought that a woman could be imprisoned for something that happens naturally to a large percentage of women is insane. The fact that it already happens makes me sick. I'm surprised I hadn't heard about this before on Democracy Now (maybe I missed it) but an example is when an "Oklahoma jury convicted a Native American woman of manslaughter for miscarrying a pregnancy after 15-17 gestational weeks. She's one of 57 such cases documented in the state since 2006 — and 1,200 in the United States." The National Advocates of Pregnant Women (NAPW), a pro-choice advocacy group, has recorded 1,600 such cases between 1973 and 2020, with about 1,200 occurring in the last 15 years alone.

It's very sad to see all the Ukrainians fleeing their country but I have been watching people fleeing from their homes for decades now. I'm not sure how or why this is worse than any of those others times.
24
The only winner is the Oligarchy - some things never change (except maybe the branding).

Very concerning how many authoritarian loving people are in the world and how other authoritarian loving people keep putting them into power. It's like there are two kinds of people in the world - one kind that is more liberal and progressive who want to move forward living in peace and harmony with others. And then there are those people who mostly want the same but only for them and those who look and/or think like them and to the detriment of everyone who doesn't. I'm not sure what the solution is or if there even is one, but unless we figure out how to stop doing the same stupid things with the same stupid people we should expect more of the same stupid suffering and misery we've gone through for the last several thousand years. Maybe the mighty post-human Coleopteran beetle civilisation will do a better job after we're gone.

Ed Asner had one of the all-time great "I-don't-have-time-for-this-foolishness" facial expressions.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." -John F. Kennedy

There shouldn't be billionaires - probably not millionaires either.
17
How is there not an obvious conflict for a judge ruling about a case focusing on the politician who appointed them? Judicial ethics - one more oxymoron for the list.
17
@robertocortez7034 The only thing Trump reads is a teleprompter and he can't even do that right or without going off script most of the time. Books? I'm sure he doesn't even listen to books on tape.
16
@AriusBLK Thanks for being part of the problem.
16
Any woman not standing with AOC on this is an enabling and broken person.
15
7:44 - Way to go, Sec Haaland! Please do a good job. The Indian Schools are a horrible part of my (and other) countries more recent shameful history and needs to be seriously investigated and the results made very public.
14
"This is the biggest wake up call we could possibly get." Sucks to wake up only t find your whole damn house already on fire. Too late, folks - buckle up 'cause this part of the hell-ride is just getting started.
14
And most of those are among the 1%
13
6:58 - this private citizen would describe the relationship as unsurprisingly corrupt with a double-helping of SSDD.
13
"Jessica comes from a very religious background" - yet again Hitchens was correct when he said "Religion poisons everything".
13
If I get called to jury duty I think I'll try the "I've already made up my mind" argument and see how that goes over.
13
"All my skinfolks ain't kinfolks" Zora Neale Hurston
13
The police won't do anything about this because they are often sympathetic to, in agreement with, and/or among the ranks of the people doing this.
12
I remember this - it was one more example of everything wrong with police.
12
As the world burns my thoughts churn And everyone takes a turn from which we never learn Burn, baby burn.
12
The cop who maced the soldier and threatening him about "riding the lightning" and how he should be afraid needs to be on a permanent no-hire list for any kind of law enforcement or private security jobs and be prohibited from owning a firearm. The best way to do that would be to secure a plea to felonious assault with a sentence to be served in protective custody in a facility where he won't be killed by other inmates. Instead he'll get re-hired in another jurisdiction. The abusive cops and the abusive priests have a lot in common - especially the way they get moved around.

The pushback in the comments about "LatinX" is very interesting.

This video and audio of Philip Brailsford executing another human being should be more than enough to sentence the killer to life in prison without chance of parole - unless Arizona has the Death Penalty in which case that needs to happen. But the Blue Wall strikes again and a thug with a badge and a big gun gets kill someone (a white dude even this time!) without any real consequences. Hell, I'm sure he'll just move across the border to New Mexico or better yet Texas (how'd that be for ironic) where he'll get a new badge and a new big gun and he'll get to do this all over again. It's bad enough we have criminals and bankers and politicians (I know I'm being redundant) constantly trying to fuck us over. But how can a population be expected to support a system that at the very least doesn't protect us from it's own sanctioned law enforcement? Mind you, this isn't anything new for Black America. This has been their normal forever in this country. Why the fuck are any black people still here? Why didn't you all go to Canada or go south and take over a chunk of Mexico when you had the chance? Regardless, Mesa, Arizona becomes one more shit hole with killer cops and complicit judges where decent folk shouldn't go. Is Holbrook in Mesa - Holbrook fucking SUCKS!

They don't work for us. They work for the Owner class and so do the rest of us.
11
The people of Africa are it's greatest resource. If they would join together and stop exploiting and fighting one another for the benefit of other nations Africa could accomplish anything.
11
@tmnt10000 🤡
11
Everyone dumps on everyone - okay Boomer, privileged or stupid Millennials and Gen Z, apathetic Gen X - none of it helps and it would great if ALL of it would stop.
10
No Masks no helmets no condoms - Sturgis bikers are awesome!
10
the police are enforcers of the State. You can't expect a dog that's trained to and rewarded for biting people not to bite people.

7:14 - It's called the Holocene extinction and it's actually the seventh mass extinction as scientists recently discovered a sixth about 260 million years ago. The Holocene extinction started for sure by 2010, but it really goes back to at least the 1970's and could probably even be linked to various points during the Industrial revolution.

Just as the Oligarchy intended. Does anyone really believe the USA was ever a Republic in anything other than name only? Come on now. Our government has always been primarily an authoritarian enforcement agency of the wealthy land and property owners who mostly control the mechanisms by which we get our candidates for governmental leadership. The world is and always has been owned by the powerful and other elite and the rest of us are all little more than, at best, resources to be used and cast aside.
10
If you want to live like a nomad or a gypsy, go for it. But in a country like the United States with all the resources and the number of empty structures in most cities, no one should ever be forced to live on the streets. Especially during the winter months.
10
So let's have a centrally located list of all the guns bought and sold in this country and who owns them. If you don't have anything to hide than no problem, right? It's not like you actually believe that someone is going to come take your guns away, right?

I don't think I've ever heard Juan use it. It should tell them something when their own co-host won't use the word.
