There has been a serious effort to try to make amends for slavery, and some can argue it is a form of reparations, but it hasn't worked (welfare, affirmative action, DEI, WIC, and many many other programs). And I'm not sure it was even designed to work. I think any attempts where the Federal Government gets involved usually is for their own benefit and power. I don't remember the 11,000 White German Americans that were interned during WWII ever receiving any compensation like the Japanese Americans did. Same goes for the Italian Americans. (But they don't talk about that). I agree that black people got a raw deal. But black people also create many of their own problems. Regardless, I just don't think a large multiracial society will work. It sure seems like it's not working. A country needs a supermajority of one race in order to be stable and prosperous. A little diversity is fine and probably a good thing. Too much diversity brings division and conflict.
