@annamoon7222 There is no society in which everyone shares the same values. Like Darwinism, some are more prevalent than others but diversity alway exists.
1
@annamoon7222 Yes of course but never a complete closed set of values.
1
@annamoon7222 sorry, I don’t understand what point you are making?

@woodsghost9088 There is no such thing as a “free market”. There cannot be such unless all players are equal and all knowledge is available. That is referred to as the “free market” is a place where the most powerful dominate and set the rules to the disadvantage of all lesser players.
1
@woodsghost9088 while I agree with your description of the problem, your solution don’t fit. It’s not less government we need, but better, more democratic, accountable government, aided by truly independent media (something sorely absent at present). Less governance gives more power to multinationals businesses. Immigration controls are all together another issue.

@michaelbrittain7445 Islam has no interest in your freedom. They would just like to be allowed their own.

It is indeed a very black outlook. England (not Scotland) is now a one party state, and they will do whatever they regard as necessary to make sure it remains so.

Sadly anger, hate sells. We all need to support Lynch and his colleagues.

The peasants revolt was crushed by a lying king. The Diggers were crushed by a lying Parliament. The Jarrow marchers were ignored, like the 2 million in London demanding a second referendum. Nothing has changed. How long before more civil unrest? Violence isn't the way (the nasty guys always win), but social organisation from the bottom might begin to supplant the centrally controlled institutions of the state.

As long as there is no limit to how much your parties can spend on elections, your system will be ruled by money and corporate greed.

I have travelled extensively in Russia. On all but commuter trains, a ticket guarantees you a seat. The trains are clean, comfortable, and punctual. This is achieved by providing sufficient rolling stock and sufficient regular services. My experience of Virgin trains has been that they are often late or cancelled and frequently overcrowded. Booking a seat on Virgin means you might, possibly get one.

50 years ago I pointed out to my economics professor, as you have, that the capitalist system could not possibly continue indefinitely, and he agreed. "But as long as everyone plays, it goes on until it crashes."

Corbyn really gave us hope, real hope! We need him and the likes of him as a fish needs water.
1
At last, a way out! 'taint going to be easy, but there IS a way. This is non-violent revolutionary bottom-up change.

The US, as the more powerful adversary should now begin negotiating an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine followed by negotiations for a resolution in which both sides respect other. This should be the beginning of disarmaments talks aimed at completely illuminating nuclear weapons globally within just a few years.
1
It is the specific plan of Sunak and his chums to destroy any publicly funded service so they can privatise everything. Privatisation is NOT about efficiency, it’s about profit, just profit.
1
The Conservative and Unionist party is completely unsustainable to govern, and should never allowed to govern again. It’s up to us, the ordinary voting citizens to ensure this happens, to condemn the Tories to oblivion, once and for even.
1
This is EXACTLY why Scotland needs to be independent of the neoliberal government of Westminster. We need to be free to develop our own democracy. A small independent country is the best place to start this revolution.
1
Good publicity for Isreal needs good dramatic story. Truth is completely irrelevant, just as with the Nazis in the 1930s, and ignored be western media just as in the 1930s.
1
Anyone who believes in a Tory "fact-checking" website, is choosing to deliberately believe in fairies.

I read “A very British Coup” just before Corbyn became leader. It was inevitable that, like Michael Foot, he would be destroyed by the established powers in this and other countries. He presented an alternative as radical as the overthrow of the Romsnovs in 1917, just without the violence. Power to the ordinary people, Democracy! God forbid!!
1
@fredmercury1314 Your coda “that’s a fact” doesn’t make it so any more than your use of capital letters. The imperialists did indeed unify the subcontinent and added their cultural mark, just as previous dynasties had. Empires are built for extraction, for the benefit of the imperial centre.

@Briselance Crime in the UK has been steadily declining over those 30 years.
1
Tony Blair? Who? Oh, you mean Tory Blair!
1
Alas most people vote without thinking.
1
Corbyn offered a completely different alternative, but he was rubbished by the press, even the guardian. Maybe we will eventually be thankful for this catastrophic government, for showing just how corrupt they really are.

This guy should be PM!
