They have turned east for trade and no longer need the west as that market is declining in wealth and customers. There is no future in the west. China will slow its investments in the unfriendly west. Germany never signed a peace treaty with the US after they were defeated in ww2. This is the reason why Germany is not independent.

You see, the rest of the world is treated as equals by their friend Russia. And the oil embargo is scheduled to begin at the end of the year, because Europe can't let go of Russia's energy right now, so pittiful. Europe is not ready, their reliable energy supply from Russia being stopped, are going to hurt their populations as energy will be rationed in the winter as they try to get new energy suppliers. The Middle Eastern oil producers are not very cooperative and Algeria an oil supplier in north Africa, has beef with Spain. As for as shipping gas and oil by Russia, the Greek shipping magnates will not be denied this lucrative market, there are always work arounds, hence why the sanctioned Iran is still selling it's oil. The fact that Europe has to as you say "search" for other sources of oil, is to their disadvantage at this late stage, winter is here in three months. Russia is patiently letting them cut off their noses. The arrogant Europeans believe they have all the powers and answers, and can dictate when they can do embargoes or create oil purchasing Cartels, as if their supplier Russia, has no say. Remember Europe is resource poor and Russia is resource rich, this will not end well for Europe, woe unto them, the time of Sorrows is near. Of course Russia will be affected but Putin did his homework to lessen the impact to his people by implementation of the five P's: Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance. Global recessions affect rich countries, poor countries will continue as normal as they have been surviving on very little already and is self sufficient in their own way. They have not been part of the Ruling Oligarch's suppressive Globalization, sucking the life blood of the working class.

Even when all of Europe were Roman Catholics, and ruled by the Pope, there were always, deceit, betrayal and endless wars. We live now to see a relative peace for only less than one hundred years in Europe with the exception of Serbia v kosovo and now the Russo-Ukraine war. However, there is still this simmering dislike for one another in the EU. The newly formed EU wants to reignite an empire with a central government, taking away nationalism and culture to facilitate a one Europe. But this is a task that is difficult because people live for their culture, nationalism and independence. It's like herding cats. It's impossible.
