I went to school in the UK and we were taught about colonisation, slavery and segregation. It wasn't taught to make us feel guilty, it was taught so that we can learn from it and not do the same again

A friend of mine has worked in a studio whilst Kanye was recording. He was not very complimentary of Mr West, suggested he may have smoked too much weed and its melted his brain. Apparently Kanye can throw an enormous tantrum when he doesn't get his way, such as when engineers want to go home after 20 hours straight in the studio because he was too busy smoking to actually record anything.

Same goes for music involving Kid Rock. His song All Summer Long is a rip of of sweet home Alabama and he still managed to get the guitar solo in the wrong key. From a purely musical point of view, it's terrible

A friends brother who I knew for years was always very depressed, for a good 20 years. One day I heard he had gender reassignment following a years long transition. I met her again last year and she's so much more chilled out and happier and more comfortable. If that's the effect it can have on someone then it can only be good. I'm sure it doesn't always go that good but it clearly can.

@markzuckergecko621 private farming regulations only apply to food being grown to sell. It covers small, independent growers who sell at markets (for example) and does not apply to a person growing some fruit and veg in their garden for their own consumption or to gift to a friend or family.

He claims to have an amazing life but can't be with a woman without having to assault and force them. Doesn't seem like a great life to me. I certainly wouldn't swap it for my life
10
That's a slick move

I live in the UK where we have free school meals for kids and universal health care and many other state funded things the US doesn't have. When I take my taxes and compare to the US taxes and a comparable health insurance plus schooling for 2 kids I pay quite a lot less. I also get paid more than the same job I the US plus work less hours and get much more paid vacation. Look outside your own country and see how much better things can be

I went to school in the 80's. We had two brothers in our class who were bullied mercilessly because they had two dads. Maybe if we hadn't seen it as weird then they wouldn't have been treated any differently to anyone else.

This reminds me that I was accused by someone of hating god once. They just wouldn't accept that I can't hate god because I don't believe god exists. I have no feelings towards what isn't there.
8
Just move to almost any first world country except the US and you can do what you want. I'm in the UK and my vasectomy was done under our universal healthcare, they even had Jimi Hendrix on the radio during the procedure.

@Zack-vi7is I know a couple of the engineers from Real World studios where Kanye has recorded. He spends 95% of his time at the studio smoking weed while everyone else makes the music. He then comes in and records his vocals which the engineers then have to grid align in Pro Tools because he was too high to stay on the beat.

He's a great example of everything I never want to be. My main rule in life is don't be a dick. Tate clearly doesn't live by this rule.

As a Brit I find US workers rights shocking. Over here we get so much more and employers generally give more than the minimum to attract the best employees. I'm entitled to 20 days paid vacation (I get 30) Unlimited sick days with statutory pay (I get 4 weeks full pay) I'm entitled to paid leave for medical appointments My employer cannot refuse leave or cancel it once booked. I can't be punished for phoning in sick. I can't be fired without at least two warnings. These rights are the main reasons I would never relocate to the US

The US is going through what happened here in the UK 40 years ago when films were banned for gay scenes or making fun of religion or being anti racist. All they achieved was to make those films more popular. When I was at school, it was easier to get copies of banned films than legal films because everyone wanted to see what they weren't aloud to see.
4
Isn't this how most serial killer films start?
4
Surely ignoring the bad things that happened is cancelling history. We need to learn about the hood and bad people did
4
Wasn't she criticizing liberals who were protesting for defunding the police?

I grew up in England where pantomime dames are a tradition. Middle aged men dressed up as women and parading around on stage being all flamboyant and camp. I don't think any kid who was dragged along to a pantomime (basically every English kid) ever watched it and thought "well that's me turned trans now". In fact the only trans person I've ever met went to a strict Catholic school where that wouldn't have been allowed.

No sir

They're pro life unless there's a few dollars to be saved

As a heterosexual man, I really quite enjoy consequence free sex with a woman. It doesn't seem particularly gay to me
3
She would be if she were pretty

I've been an engineer for 30 years and he's talking absolute crap. State inspectors are experienced in their field and have worked in the industry. They aren't just dumb bureaucrats. An intelligent engineer works with regulations not against them. They lead to standardisation which ultimately makes the job easier, especially when repairing or modifying someone else's work because you'll know how things are installed or wired.
3
You want capitalism, well this is it. If you vote for capitalism, don't complain when you get laid off so your boss can make a few more dollars
3
Have these people never enjoyed consequence free sex with a consenting partner? I quite often enjoy a bit of fun with my wife without having to worry about her getting pregnant. There's 8 billion people in the world already and people won't stop horizontal exercise so the last thing we want to do is ban contraception.
3
As a non American, I would say most of the world would rather the US didn't try to lead when it comes to military action because it never ends well when they do.
3
As a mechanical engineer, I always refer to the bible for metallurgy or mechanics information. Only this morning I used it to look up friction head loss equations.
3
Please never mention Petersons spank bank again. I'd prefer to not be reminded that he has genitals and may enjoy special alone time.

I had a couple gay teachers when I was at school, one was really camp and very open about it, an excellent physics teacher as well. I'm not gay and no one in that class back then was either.
2
When everyone is rich then no one is rich

Here in the UK, its illegal for a business to force people to work beyond contracted hours and they cannot contract employees to work more than 48 hours per week. They also have to give you a minimum 20 days per year vacation plus the 8 statutory days and they cannot stop you or punish you for taking every one of those days. I work 40 hours and that's it, not an hour more and I get 42 days a year vacation.
2
That's $35 per month more than any diabetic in the UK pays

She said it'll be for the whole world. Doesn't she realise most of the world doesn't care and will just be pissed their missing Simpsons and the latest episode of Gold Rush? We're more interested in whether Jack Hoffman finds that big nugget or whether Homer gets to Moe's before closing.
2
I sent thoughts and prayers. Thats what they like to receive isn't it?
2
Land of the free my ass. Whatever happened to religious freedom and separation of church and state?

As a Brit I can tell you the unions are definitely demonised here. The TV shows are inviting them on in the hope of making them look foolish but are (fortunately) failing.
2
Hopefully it goes the same way this same fight went in Britain back in the 70's when our unions got us these rights written in to law. Once again the US is half a century behind Europe on rights.
2
Trump's course in Scotland gets regular dirty protests. It's a local sport to "park your breakfast" (take a dump) in the hole without getting caught.
1
It's quite interesting that in the US unions are normal and accepted by the Conservative right but here in the UK despite being pretty much the same, they are seen as far left communists who are only out to cause trouble. Most of the workers rights we have in the UK (and its a lot more rights than US workers have) exist because of the unions fighting for them.
1
Interesting note. Queen Elizabeth has seen a lot of prime ministers and sworn them in to office. She swore in Liz Truss as PM and croaks the following day. That's no coincidence, she didn't want to hang around for the inevitable disaster our female Trump is setting up.
1
As much as I can't stand Chad Kroegers vocals, at least he has some power behind them, this sounds weak. It's more bad emo pop than Nickelback which is bland rock.
1
I just googled Mr Peterson's wife expecting her to be more beautiful than this model. Mr Peterson has no place to speak on this subject. Some of us like a lady with curves more than very slim women.
1
I hear from a friend there is a film of that very situation on a website with a name that rhymes with cornhub
1
These people who are saying this goes against free speech are talking rubbish. If for example I were to insult their mother and they then punched me in the face as a reaction, would that be against my free speech? No, it would be the consequences of my free speech, I was free to insult their mother and they were free to provide the consequences. This is no different.
1
Obviously the left are selecting the opposite gender to what they want for their child and then forcing them to become trans and then aborting them at 12 years old
1
I guarantee she'll be completely against republicans moving to blue states losing the vote for five years
1
I'm not sure whether he's serious or not.
1
@josue24 Trump has been complimenting Putin on his invasion of Ukraine, saying how bigly clever he is. Trump was also very anti NATO. I don't think he'd have done anything to help Ukraine but I don't think he'd help Russia either.
1
Is the US really only 250 years old? My house is at least 150 years older than your country. It's really a young country and I guess right now it's going through a difficult teenage type stage.
