Imagine living in a world where 80%+ of jobs are either ghost jobs or scams and the other 20% have bosses that have ATS and just normally auto reject all but the mythical unicorns, the same people who then cry how "nobody wants to work" What a time to be alive

@XYZ-qt5rn Or it could just be that the world is going to shit and that's what we young people have to look forward to. Working multiple jobs to make ends meet, renting a 10x10 box, renting a car, eating garbage food and having to compete with everybody just for a chance to survive. Feels like we've gone backwards a few centuries, except for the evolving technology

Every day I ask myself: is money really all there is to life? that's all people talk and care about, while I literally cannot care less about it
92
I'm the exact same way and to be honest I feel like it's probably just us coping with the trauma of being ostrocized, bullied and in a toxic family situation. At this point if I didn't need to work to survive I'd probably have no issues spending whatever there's left of my life by myself, at home on the internet
57
Based. Let the house of cards fall so we can build something that's actually solid and not utter dogshit like this modern era
53
@jip230 Brother this is 2024. Making new connections is impossible so if you don't already have somebody that could hook you up then you're left to dry
49
Employers in 2024: Flipping burgers? Best I can do is a bachelors and 10 years of experience
45
The modern world wasn't made with normal human beings in mind. Only billionaires and eventually robots
42
In the end it's all mostly a societal issue to begin with. It should always be approached with the mindset of "treat the cause, not the effect". You can't help "incels" by judging and ridiculing them, you can't help an alcoholic by shouting at them, you can't help a depressed person by telling them that they're too soft and should man up, the same way you can't help a kid that's being bullied by telling them "at least people don't ignore you" and turn a blind eye. The very same way you don't force a person with a broken leg to walk on it, even if it's killing them, like people currently do. When a person has a broken leg you heal it first and then start walking again, it's not the other way around
36
Their yachts are more important than the continued survival of the human race. Duh.
33
Yup. God help young people that didn't have the option to go to college, which is the bare minimum for any job nowadays
33
@lukemustafa6692 Why should you take responsibility for something that you have nothing to do with? Previous generations yeeted the ladder into the stratosphere yet we're supposed to just take responsibility for the fact that the planet and society is currently self-destructing because of wealth inequality? Don't you think that's a tad too much blame shifting?
31
@merrymachiavelli2041 So the sheep are screwed either way. Might as well screw the wolves too I suppose
27
I can't even imagine what being interested in a hobby would look like. Screens are so much better to the point where choosing them is a no-brainer
26
Work can be an issue. There is a lot of bs "busywork" nowadays
25
Nah, it's got nothing to do with personality or them liking you, just have a parent or friend that can get you the position. If you don't then that's just a skill issue 😂.
25
True, but I feel like we'd probably be better off with a system that punishes greed, or at the very least doesn't incentivise it, like Capitalism
24
Nobody cares. We're born alone, we live alone and we die alone. The only reason somebody would at least pretend to care is if you have something they want
21
@da_copreee9929 Because we didn't. Billionaires are the new nobility, your average guy is the peasant. That's it.
19
@AronJF Yup, it's not that nobody wants to work anymore, it's just that nobody wants to give fair compensation for working anymore
19
ARE YOU HAPPY YET 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥?!
17
@barondino4628 Found the delusional boomer 😂
17
@jip230 It's possible if you're handsome or have lots of money but that's about it
16
@DonnePlummer69 roll up your sleaves and work aka keep making money for your employer, which you'll never see again. Your dollar is my cent
14
If people didn't need to work 16 hours a day then maybe there would have been some time to mate. Either that or just increase the hours in a day I suppose 😂
14
Nihilism has entered the chat
11
0:43 Of you don't know what true love is then you'll be miserable... But you'll also be miserable if you do know what true love is. Cool 👍
11
I've never been able to find any. Either they're super fake or we don't share similar interests, so can't form any kind of bond besides acquaintances
11
@exposingtruth600 It sucks when you just want to be friends with somebody but they already have their own friend group so you're just left to dry
9
Guilty until proven innocent
8
@MaxP_88 Economic growth won't matter if only the owning class gets to benefit from it. Production keeps increasing while wages keep going down. Somebody is stealing the money that workers should be receiving
8
Hey, at least you got to college. My experience seems pretty similar to yours but due to depression and what I assume is ADD I barely managed to get by in High School and there was just no possible way for me to attend college, not that I would have any direction to go with it in the first place though. Logically I know that I need a career, and I know that getting into tech would be something that would suit me, but I feel like I'm just too dead inside at this point to care. I seem to have found some vague resemblance of a path inside this thick jungle of life, but now I face the problem of not having the will to walk down the only path I see :/
7
Lol meanwhile I swore I'd never use Tiktok, only stuff like Youtube and Reddit but then caved in and started using it just so I wouldn't be that one guy not using it 😂
6
I think it has more to do with awareness than with intelligence to be honest. Surely a "dumb" person could also see it if they opened their eyes
6
Meanwhile all I want is to love, but I can't find anybody worth it
6
We just need to cut down on our luxuries like: checks list Food? Shelter? Healthcare?
6
10 years of no friends and still going strong 💪. It's not as much as not knowing their stories, as the fact that most people's stories just bore me. I still haven't even heard of a single non-fictional character that I would actually be interested in learning more about, but that's most likely because life itself is extremely boring to begin with
5
@henrym5889 What do you mean it'll happen. This has been the case since at least 2022-2023
5
@lg330 "My anecdotal experience is different than yours so you're clearly wrong and I'm right, even thought 8 billion people would agree with you and not with me"
5
@nonyabiziness You're only talking about a small percentage of people. A lot of people struggle to make ends meet while living frugally. The main issue is the cost of necessities as well as the lack of wage increases for decades now, not iphones or $120 plans
4
Final chapter of Capitalism for sure. Humanity will survive one way or another
4
Ok but what about just not doing the acts of evil? It seems like the best outcome to me
4
Same. Everything else has always been boring to me. Best I can do is an activity to pass the time, not something to enjoy. About profession I'd just pick something that makes sense or connects to what I'm already doing. It's like you go to a giant ice cream shop and every single box is bloody vanilla
4
Love is real in the sense that you can love somebody, but it's not real in the sense of being loved
4
If I had to be irrational in order to exist as a human being then I'd much rather not be a human being at all. The goal should be to transcend humanity, not to keep being shackled by it like we have been since the first breath of this species. If being alone/being a piano key is the price then it's a small one to pay
4
A partner in 2025? Bruh
4
Some guy: I'm gonna achieve all my dreams and become a gigachad human being! Nihilism: Look at this dude... OH no no no no... PFFBWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 😕
4
People tend to trust the "fool" more easily than the "serious" or however you want to say it
3
I'm early 20s and I used Facebook for a little bit when I was younger, mostly to play the games that were on there, nowadays the only social platforms I use are YouTube, Discord, a bit of Reddit and sometimes Twitch. Social media feels kind of pointless in general tbh
3
They're never the root cause of the problem, but like with Capitalism, not only does it not aim to alleviate said problem, it actively encourages and helps it. There are plenty of things it should condemn but does not and also plenty of things it shouldn't condemn but it does
