  1. Batali’s books are still available, used. I don’t have any, but his downfall would not prevent me from buying one if I wanted it. I do have a couple of Frugal Gourmet books. It’s a similar situation, except that Jeff Smith is deceased. I bought one of his books, used, because I wanted a printed copy of one particular recipe of his. I don’t see it as in any way an endorsement of his personal life.
