CancerExl — The stupidity started with looking for drugs on the street, then by arming themselves with a knife (presumably as protection during a confrontation with a drug dealer or his accomplice), finally by using it in a struggle with people claiming to be Carabinieri (or anyone, for that matter). After all that, there was no rational way out. They just had to get away in a hurry without being seen — an impossible problem.
