Even Finland, which has had border disputes with Russia in the past, has had decades of peaceful relations with Russia. Sweden has been well served by its neutrality for a very long time.   45. Eric Von — They had to go back to their hotel (which was nearby) to get ready to leave in a hurry. They needed to change clothes, book a flight, pack, and go. They needed to hide the evidence just well enough to get out of the country. It would have been better to ditch the knife in the river, but that would take too long. Dumping it in the neighborhood would have been only slightly better because they had not planned for it by finding a place. It would have been found any way and the clothes were as incriminating as the knife. When one commits a reckless, impulsive act, there is no plan and therefore no good way to cover up the crime, at least when one is in a heavily populated area and in a big hurry to get away.
