Go look what happened to those currencies versus the dollar over the last hour or two of this post. Seriously, if you trade currencies look up the USD/CAD and USD/MXN.   7. I prefer not to share the three states I'm considering for my move next year, but I'm looking for a 2-bedroom 1 or 2 bathroom home (condo or house). It's surprising how much prices have increased—less than ten years ago, they were often half of what they are now. Well.... none of it is surprising, but I'm not going into that here. Having said that, you couldn't pay me to move back to Florida. That's one state I never want to see again other than in your videos LOL. And based on that map you showed, the area I lived in isn't showing future price decreases. And it was a lower middle class area.

Inflation coming down (under 3% which is lower than in the 80's for example) 7. Consumer confidence improved 8. Wage growth stronger than previous administration 9. Unemployment remains below the historical average 10. Bitcoin near all-time highs Stop trying to make the economy look horrible so the new administration can make excuses for underperforming.

  17. Now that I think about it, if the condo prices become cheap enough in the surrounding Tallahassee area, I might look into that as my "under $100k" small vacation home. Of course, prices include HoA fees, not just the upfront cost. I haven't checked the prices in that general area yet because I've been avoiding the Southeast USA.

  18. Funny thing is this happened to me long long ago when I bought my first new car. Lucky for me it ended up being a lemon. And after two years of fighting it in arbitration, I got my money back plus all the interest and $4,000 in "aggravation" the dealership caused me. My father said keep making the payments and you will win in the end. He was right!

  20. When I left Florida in March 2022, the property taxes on my 3 bdrm 2 bath home built in 1970 were about $4,500 a year. It was in the "nice" area of Pompano Beach, so that probably had a lot to do with it. The same sized house in central Pennsylvania (minus a garage) built in 2018 cost about $1,490 in taxes. And don't get me going on the cost on insuring the houses.....

The wealthy will take full advantage, buying up everything in sight—including homes—pushing prices even higher. In the short term, that’s great for sellers. But long term? More inflation, more debt, and a financial mess that’ll eventually come crashing down. This isn’t good news for the economy. Having said that, just wait until next year after the tax cuts and interest rate reductions before selling. Perhaps the people who removed their home listings were truly the smart ones because they realize waiting until next year is a better opportunity to sell.

Sure, things will look pretty for the financial industry the first year or two, but they always end up eating themselves then beg for a bailout when an economic crash happens.   28. To be fair, many countries are going through the same thing. We are living in the early transition to an A.I. future. A new phase of ultra efficient economic standards. Macy's and Kohl's are the latest casualties that couldn't keep up. Go look at retail sales the last few months. They've been solid. Americans are spending, just not at these "inefficient" companies. Stop trying to turn this into some negative economic policies from the current administration.

  33. I still keep track of homes that sold not to far from where I lived in Florida. I don't think the Florida housing market is going to crash if houses like the one below sell for $600k. Having driven through that area numerous times, I can't fathom why anyone would spend so much on a house like that. It doesn't even have a pool.... 1903 NW 77th Ave Margate, FL 33063 And it has an HoA. And I'm sure the taxes will be about 6k starting next year thanks to the high selling price.

  34. Maybe you might know this or someone who does. I'm not sure how to explain it but here I go. Is there a homeowner's insurance fund similar to a retirement account? You are not paying an insurance company. Instead, you put money into your own homeowner's account each paycheck that builds up over time and is tax free. You can only remove the money tax free if there is major damage to your home or for major healthcare expenses. Otherwise, if you remove it for any other reason the tax penalty kicks in. If you move to a new home, this account moves with you tax free. Kind of like how a 401k retirement account works

  39. No, we do NOT have to change it. We do need to create a wealth tax on assets worth over $10 million dollars whether or not those assets are sold.   41. The economy is doing good but the money is not "trickling down." Not sure why anyone still believes that economic theory. Just about every economic indicator is doing good, but none of those numbers matter if the money isn't being distributed properly. All you have to do is look at assets like Bitcoin, stocks, gold, and other things to see there is plenty of money being spent. It's just not there for the majority of Americans to spend.

  42. Oh god, please stop discussing student loans unless you get to the fundamental reason why they became a burdensome debt issue and so outrageously expensive. It was planned that way from the start, and that's why laws were written to prevent bankruptcy on those loans. Student loans were packaged into securities like mortgages and sold to wealthy people as guaranteed income. And the only way to guarantee it was to prevent bankruptcy on those loans. Sure, there are other reasons, but that is the very fundamental reason they become a massive debt issue for individuals and the country as a whole. Because let's be real. Most of those students are going to die with that debt unpaid and taxpayers are going to eat it anyway. Better to clear the loans now and let those students contribute to society properly.

  43. I'm about 13% below the median for my age group. Not bad. But the good news is I have near zero debt. Granted, this is a 2022 chart, so by 2024 I'd probably be 18% or so below the median. Right now I'm working part-time on the weekends while living on some of my investments. If I worked full-time, I'd probably be above the median for my age group.

  49. It seems the new administration is considering using taxpayer money to create a national Bitcoin reserve. If this goes through, we could witness a major market bubble, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to sell at the peak. What frustrates me is their focus on cutting government spending while also looking to invest our tax dollars in cryptocurrency. This includes a new coin from the president's own digital service company, which I can’t name here but is easy to find online. Given how cheap it is, it might be worth considering a small investment in it. I haven't done that yet because my broker doesn’t offer it right now.
