  1. Can't wait to hear your analysis on how the economy is "struggling" yet the FED just came out with a hawkish stance meaning they do NOT see a reason to lower rates. In other words, they said the economy is solid and there is no need to stimulate it with lower interest rates. And they indirectly said rates need to remain high because the incoming administration's policies are potentially inflationary: tax cuts, deregulation cuts, tariffs, and more debt. All of that is inflationary. The FED wants to get ahead of it now.

  4. It's always fun hearing a struggling company blame the macro economic environment for its bad management. I remember FEDEX doing that a year or two ago, yet UPS and other major companies continued reporting strong earnings. And Walmart is expecting a strong holiday shopping season.

  8. One thing I never understood about digital currencies that brag about having a limited supply. How do they deal with a global economy that is continuously growing? The limited supply of the currency means deflation is inevitable because there is not enough money to go around. So instead of inflation from excessive money printing, now we have deflation from not enough money out there? Maybe there is a middle ground where the digital money supply can only be increased a certain percentage every 10 years for example? But then the question is.... where does that increased money supply go? Who makes that decision? Hopefully A.I. will be intelligent enough to get humans out of the equation 🙂

It makes sense for them to purchase a new computer now at a lower price on credit, rather than waiting until they have the cash and facing a price increase of $500 or more later. When politicians push for privatizing everything, they're often just creating middlemen who take our money while giving us less in return. Sure, some things like the DMV might benefit from privatization, but crucial services like healthcare and social security? Absolutely not! We need to keep those public to ensure everyone has access and quality care. Let's be smart about who we vote for and protect the services that matter most! Because a few of the places I've been watching haven't reduced their prices and are sitting on the market for 2 months or more. I've contacted a few places and even with a "cash payment" they would not budge more than 2 or 3k.

  20. One thing I noticed when looking for my small "vacation" home is how racially segregated our country is. I got sidetracked and started searching various areas because I saw affordable decent looking homes that were not selling. And when I checked city data in those areas, the homes were not selling because they were located in a city or town that had an "undesirable" racial community. Yea, sorry I didn't know how to phrase that more pleasantly, but you get the idea. Go look up the racial makeup of cities like "East St Louis, IL" and "Macron, GA" and "Ford City, IL" as just a few examples. You'll quickly learn why those homes sit on the market forever no matter how cheap and cute they look.

  23. The good thing about the Pennsylvania location I live in is it's about 25 minutes outside the wealthier "state college" area and considered a community with good growth potential. The area is semi-rural and the homes are much more affordable than the ones in state college. A 25 minute commute is worth the price advantage you get living here. And it has a ton of room to grow. They are already planning a new major highway between my location and state college. I'm looking to sell because I no longer need a larger 3 bedroom 2 bathroom home and there is no property nearby worth buying.

In no particular order here were the ones all three listed: Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, West Virginia, Arkansas, and two of the chatbots listed Florida. Funny how all are in the Southeast except West Virginia. Most of those states have the least deregulation and worst healthcare systems..... go figure.

Do I really need to spell out how student loans were bundled into securities and sold off as guaranteed income, just like mortgages before the 2008 crash? The same government that subsidized those loans also made sure they couldn’t be discharged in bankruptcy. Who did that benefit? Maybe the same banks handing out the loans and the investors raking in risk-free interest. While global rates hovered near zero, student loans stayed at 3% or higher—easy money for years. Michael, do yourself a favor. Learn how the economy actually works and stop regurgitating nonsense about subsidies being the real problem.

A crashing market means the administration can get their tax cuts passed, the FED to lower interest rates, and it gives wealthy people an opportunity to buy stocks and other assets at cheap prices. As a bonus, a market crash means the administration has an excuse to cut social programs because the government revenue is dramatically reduced.

  38. Just wait until the incoming administration tries to privatize the entire Medicare system so it is completely run by private insurance companies. Imagine grandma getting old and needs treatment that keeps getting denied because the insurance companies know she is too frail to fight for her rights. And eventually she passes away without the insurance company paying anything. And if you live in some states, the insurance companies will have immunity from all sorts of lawsuits as long as what they are doing is not blatantly criminal. Good times ahead.

True energy independence is impossible when a few companies and countries control the supply. Whether fossil fuels come from Saudi Arabia or American companies, we remain dependent on them. If the new president genuinely cared about making the country energy independent, he would push for a real "moonshot" in renewable energy. But we all know that’s not his priority.

So if the owner of a home changes the price from $200k to $300k, I won't see the listing anymore. The price being $200k months ago has no bearing on my current search. It will not show up unless it is currently under $250k.

  46. I think some people who own a home with a mortgage just want the cheapest insurance policy available because they are legally required to have it. Most people know the cheaper insurance company is a scam and won't pay out when the time comes. Or best case scenario they'll pay out a small sum so you can't take them to court.

  47. Back in high school, Walmart was my first 'real' job that didn’t involve neighborhood yard work or odd chores. When raise time came around, it was clear—whether you worked like a machine or coasted along, everyone got nearly the same wage increase. Sure, you couldn’t slack too much without consequences, but putting in extra effort? Total waste of energy. I also learned those wage increases were mostly tied to inflation, not true effort.

  50. Not sure the health of the economy has anything to do with these retail stores closing. People changed their buying habits and prefer shopping online because there are a lot more choices. I only go to an actual brick and mortar retail store for food, home repair items, and maybe a carpet for the bathroom.
