@MichaelBordenaro I agree with that statement, but here is part of the most recent retail report before the holiday:
-------------------------------------
"For November 2024, the most recent retail data reflects continued strength in the U.S. consumer market. October retail and food services sales reached $718.87 billion, a slight 0.4% increase from September and a 2.85% rise compared to October 2023. Core retail sales (excluding food services) were $621.59 billion, up 0.35% month-over-month and 2.63% year-over-year. Notably, nonstore retail sales, such as e-commerce, grew 7% from the previous year, signaling a strong shift toward online shopping. Food services also saw a robust annual increase of 4.28%
Additionally, e-commerce showed significant growth in Q3 2024, contributing $300.1 billion to total retail sales. This was a 2.6% increase from Q2 and a 7.4% increase year-over-year."
-------------------------------------
A nearly 3% gain year over year tells me things are improving. Again, this doesn't mean we are in the greatest economy every, but the doom and gloom needs some restraining.

The November 2024 retail data shows that the U.S. consumer market is holding strong. In October, retail and food service sales hit $718.87 billion, marking a 0.4% increase from September and a 2.85% rise compared to October 2023. Core retail sales, which exclude food services, were $621.59 billion, up 0.35% month-over-month and 2.63% year-over-year. Notably, nonstore retail sales (like e-commerce) grew by 7% from the previous year, indicating a significant shift towards online shopping. Food services also experienced a solid annual increase of 4.28%.
Furthermore, e-commerce showed impressive growth in Q3 2024, contributing $300.1 billion to total retail sales—a 2.6% increase from Q2 and a 7.4% increase year-over-year. A nearly 3% gain year-over-year suggests that things are on the upswing.

While this doesn't mean we're in an ideal economy, it's clear that the constant negativity needs to be tempered with some perspective.
