Today, the Philippine looks like an "outcast" in Asean. Its mouthpiece on foreign policy is a mouthpiece of its old grand master (the USA). No country in Asean has foreign military basses except the Philippines. When a country has foreign military bases, like the Philippines has, it has already given up its sovereignty rights to function as a sovereign country. Still living in the 50's ,60's, 70's mindset. It believes so strongly in colonialism and neocolonialism. And expect other Asean countries to follow blindly its colonialism and neocolonialism step path.

That 2003 1raq leader talk about NOT using US dollar , you knew what happen right after that ....

😅DW setup by Washington "contractor" since day 1 to keep German inline.

U$A has framed international politics as a struggle between democracies and autocracies. Divide the world into two competing ideological blocs: democratic nations in one camp and the rest in another. This mindset revives an unhelpful Cold War-era framework that split nations into rival groups on Manichean terms, usually preventing cooperation across a range of vital issues.
7
Again, History is repeating... 😂 During the 70's 80's .. U$A to EU : We should not invest in China, the system(commuxxx) is bad and needs to be punished. EU : OK , agree But after that, it was U$A companies that flooded into China to make huge profits, the EU so dxmb.🤣

U$ have NO obligation to defend the dispute maritime areas. Document 578 of American Foreign Policy Basic Documents 1977-1980 is a 1979 letter to then-Philippine Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Romulo, in which Vance further clarified the U.S. legal interpretation of the MDT. He declared that armed attack under the MDT refers to external armed aggression against any part of Philippine metropolitan territory as defined by the 1898 Treaty of Paris between Spain and the U.S. and the 1900 Treaty of Washington between Great Britain and the U.S. (amended in 1930), as well as island territories in the Pacific that are under Philippine jurisdiction. Moreover, “armed attack on any Philippine armed forces, public vessels or aircraft in the Pacific would not have to occur within the Philippine metropolitan territory or island territory under its jurisdiction in the Pacific in order to come within the definition of Pacific Area in Article V.” Thus, armed attack on said forces or vessels taking place in undisputed maritime areas in the South China Sea would fall within the scope of the MDT.

February 24, 1948, Declassified U.S. Foreign Policy: Furthermore, we have about 50% of the world’s wealth but only 6.3% of its population. This disparity is particularly great as between ourselves and the peoples of Asia. In this situation, we cannot fail to be the object of envy and resentment. Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security. ... that Japan and the Philippines will be found to be the corner-stones of such a Pacific security system and that if we can contrive to retain effective control over these areas there can be no serious threat to our security from the East within our time. Taiwan was added to the Pacific security system after Chiang's army retreated to the island of Taiwan in 1949. South Korea was added after the Korean War in 1953. The attempt with Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia was abandoned in 1975.

@LiamCamilleri-q1w The line draw/acknowledge by U$ to China after WW2. "The Philippines gained independence in 1946, but when nationalists within the Philippine government wanted to claim the Spratlys, their American advisors discouraged them. The Spanish-American treaty of 1898 made it clear that the western limit of the Philippine islands did not include the Spratlys, and the United States was not keen to carry the cost of a Philippine irredentist adventure that might bring conflict with Chiang Kai-shek's regime in China" Page 11 , War Or Peace in the South China Sea? edited by Timo Kivimäki. Contributor: Nordic Institute of Asian Studies (NIAS) 2002.

Distance from Falkland Islands to United Kingdom is 12,955 kilometers. This air travel distance is equal to 8,050 miles. The islands are located in the South Atlantic Ocean, on the Patagonian Shelf, about 300 mi (480 km) east of Patagonia in southern Argentina. Argentina says it has a right to the islands, which it calls the Malvinas, because it inherited them from the Spanish crown in the early 1800s.

@obccy22 nope . I am talking about the empireU$
2
@obccy22 true, but is-ree1 , empireU$ w0rst.. On May 12, 1996, on a 60 Minutes segment . "We've heard that a half-a-milion children have died in [Iraq due to sanctions following the 1991 Gulf War]. And that's more children than that died in Hiroshima. And..and... you know...is the price worth it?" Albright: "I think it's a very hard choice, but we think, we think the price is worth it." Still blows my mind how the American govt and vassal can criticize any country while they still have these same people walking around in office to this day.
