@ultrahighgain412 Pvt. Snowball probably became a lifer and a drill instructor as well.

Murder Hobbits is a good band name.
1
I really want to watch this but I don't subscribe to HBO.
1
Wow, kind of like President Teddy Roosevelt who got shot by a wannabe assassin and finished his speech before accepting medical attention.
1
Trailer for the first Joker was also top notch.
1
@c3bhm After that he becomes the next Shepard Book, since Book is heavily implied to have once been an operative himself before quitting and turning to faith. The comics later dive into this more, but the comics aren't needed to figure it out, the show drops enough hints.

I remember when Episode 1 was coming out and I was so pumped. A new Star Wars movie! Awesome! And then...it sucked. And the next one sucked. And so on. With the lone exception of Rogue One, every Star Wars film or project since 1983 just sucks harder than the last one. I saw the first Star Wars film in the theater as a little kid, and after The Last Jedi I walked away, totally done with all this. Now I want Disney to keep making these things and wasting their money, because I get joy from watching Drinker and Nerdrotic's reviews of films I will never spend my money or time on.

Making Japan the potential adversary in the Pacific instead of the ch1n3se c0mmun1sts is such a loser move. Reminds me the Red Dawn remake, or the Sum of All Fears, where they changed the bad guys to make it more p0lit1cally correct.

You know when you go to a museum, and you see a display with a button that starts a 2-minute narration of the subject? This is the kind of thing those buttons are made for. Not full length feature films.
1
That's the saddest "Go away now" I've ever heard on this channel. Loved Firefly. At least we got a decent movie to wrap it up, better than dragging the show out for years until the writing gets stale and the actors start quitting I guess.
1
This video is brutal and so on the dot.
1
"Because I'm too heavy sir." "Because you are a disgusting fatbody!"
1
So it sounds like an average 80s flick. Which makes it above average by today's standards.
1
@airhammer6203 I have the DVD, and of course they're in order there.
1
@JohnSmith-eo5sp Defense noted.
1
Why did they remake this? Dunno. Why did they remake Roadhouse? And is this really worse than NuRoadhouse?
1
Immediately established Dredd's character. A guy with whom you do not fuck.

RIP Columbia

"Losers always whine about their best." I don't like The Rock that much, but I did love Connery's performance in it.
1
Absolute savage comment.
1
He'd be a miniature poodle, yapping away in Freddy's mom's pocketbook.

"The girl with the surgical tattoo" LMAO

I'm one of those older fans you mentioned who stopped giving a shit after Jar Jar Abrams's lousy 2009 film, and like you said, I didn't even know most of these shows even existed. A friend told me to watch Picard season 3, and while it was nice for the 'member berries it had its flaws, too, and in any case wasn't enough for me to start caring. I grew up watching TOS reruns on UHF TV channels, and while I liked TNG, DS9, and even Voyager, as far as I'm concerned everything after Wrath of Khan is fanfic.

Happy 249th birthday, Marines! BTW, at the USMC museum in Virginia there is a photo exhibit by Matthew Modine. Kubrick let him shoot still photos with a twin lens reflex camera in between shooting scenes and the photos are amazing.
1
Nothing of substance has changed.
1
The only one I disagree with here is Die Hard 2. All the rest I loved. Predator 2 especially got a bad rap for no good reason. I was glad Arnold wasn't in it; that made the movie about the Predator instead of the leading man.
1
Plot twist: the invasion succeeded a long time ago and none of us are real humans, we are all just descendants of pod people.
1
Showrunner: "Go watch something else" Me: Okay.
1
"I am so sorry I made this film! Boo hoo hoo!"
1
Unless I hear from friends that this film is really, actually, good, I have no plans to see it. Sorry, but I grew up watching Christopher Reeve* in Superman: The Movie and 98% of all recent movies suck anyway, so if the studio wants my money, they're going to have to work hard for it.
1
@chiefscheider I always get that wrong, sorry.
1
This show, these characters, and whatever it was it spun off from, I've never heard of any of this shit. Doesn't look like I'm missing anything.
1
I love the Drinker and all his fans in the comment section. Makes me feel there is yet hope.
1
As if anything's really going to change. Cue the next woke movie ruiner.
1
Dr. Emil Schaffhausen pay you a visit?
1
"Scalpal McDoctorface" I'm dyin' over here.
1
The first one back in the 90s was the only one worth watching in a movie theater. I quit watching halfway through the second film and never looked back. But if it makes them money, good on them I guess.
1
So when I don't go see this, will that make me racist? Misogynist? Which kind of "toxic" fan will I be this time for staying home and rewatching a Sergio Leone film?
1
@chrishoppner150Oh yeah, and Charlize Theron was not only super hot, she was also unhinged crazy evil as the Queen. That mirror was lying to her. She carried that film for sure.
1
@jwst8 Along with the fact that they shadow censor every other comment. Remember when we were told a good society believes in freedom of speech?
1
If it weren't for these reviews like Drinker and Nerdrotic, I'd never even know these shows exist. I quit caring about Star Wars after episode 8. Aside from Rogue One, there hasn't been anything Star Wars worth a damn since 1983.
1
So if you can't train sharks, how do you get them to use the frikkin' lasers?
