Holding the slide shut with your hand, might damage your hand.

Thank you for the additional information.

Might have been patent issues.
19
He created his own market and brand.
19
He is left handed.
19
You tube no longer allows direct links to gun sellers. Which is actually a bonus for sites like forgotten weapons since it drives web traffic to their pages. Upping the number of views counts. Hopefully increasing revenue.

They made caps in the 1800s with limited industrial capacity. You think we could figure that out. Somebody had to make the first rimfire rounds pretty much by hand
18
@quatro_quatro You forgot the Commander in Chief US Navy before WW2. CINCUS.
18
No they fall down with head wounds.
18
Yes on the military service. There are rather few exemptions.
18
Very cool rifle design. The internal workings are very interesting. Although I am happy that the US military changed the ammunition specs. The M1 Garand of WW2 is a hard rifle to beat in reliabilty and accuracy.

Check out Paul Harrel video. The 110 gr round nosed hollow point round. 4 layers of tshirt on the front, pork steak pectorals, pork ribs, bag of oranges for lung tissue, more pork ribs, 4 layers of tshirt on the back. 50 layers of the New and Improved high tech fleece bullet stop. 4 shots ALL four went through everything.

@Gordonseries385 Apparently much like today from what I have read. Start, stop, each bunch doing different things. At the time nobody knew what a virus was. They had seen bacteria in a microscope but not a virus they are too small. So nobody really knew how the disease spread. The first virus ever seen was in 1941 by a new invention called an electron microscope. Another Youtube channel TheHistoryGuy does a good episode on the 1918 Flu Pandemic.

@freedomvigilant1234 Actually there is at least one case from the late 1980s, where an M16A1 did just that. A US soldier serving in the Sinai peace keeping force. After guard duty and a failing to properly clear his weapon. Went to the guard force barracks. Climbed up on the upper bunk, sitting with his feet hanging down. Rifle across his thighs. Reached for his cleaning kit. The rifle slid off his legs and dropped buttstock first. He reached to grab the weapon and leaned forward. He missed grabbing the weapon. It it hit buttstock first. The rifle discharged, hitting him in the head killing him. Investigation showed that the weapon was on SAFE. I was a unit armorer in the US Army. We were alerted to this problem through our monthly preventative maintenance magazines. In addition, Our unit did retraining on clearing procedures. One of the changes made it mandatory that all weapons clearing was to be overseen by NCOs.

This is very cool. Question if each barrel is slightly different how did the original users make ammo for them?
17
So can I.
17
Very interesting history. Thank you Ian and Max
17
Simon Korneffel Just buy 10 of them because they may end up being single shot single use firearms.
16
Please send me a check so I can send you some gold.
16
@lordhellfire153 send them this video.

Forgotten Weapons Congratulations on getting to do something ypu love. Keep up the good work.

I have a question. Recently a couple in Colorado sued a cake maker, because the cake maker would not make a cake for their wedding. The cake maker objected to the fact that the couple were gay. The courts said the cake maker had to make the cake even though the cake maker objected based on religious grounds. So why cant we sue You tube for violating our Constitutional Rights or legal rights based on federal/ state law. If someone can be forced to make cakes for what they do not believe in why cant You tube be forced to air content? Is it not the same thing? Here is the conclusion “Masterpiece Cakeshop has willfully and repeatedly considered itself above the law when it comes to discriminating against customers, and the state has rightly determined otherwise,” said Sara R. Neel, staff attorney with the ACLU of Colorado. “It’s important for all Coloradans to be treated fairly by every business that is open to the public – that’s good for business and good for the community.”

Well with detachable mags and selective fire an Uzi is a much better choice. If this thing had a detachable magazine and selective fire the difference would be in terminal ballistics. The power of a rifle round over that of a pistol round.
16
Another person Iisten to made a similar observation. No matter where we are from. We the People have more in common with each other than with the people who run our respective countries.
16
@andresmartinezramos7513 i guess i never ran it through an inflation calculator. The 1970 $471 dollars says 3,000 something in 2021 dollars.
16
@Strawberry92fs If he was that he would want 50,000
16
@1r0zz Enough with the pointed sticks. We are going to learn how to defend ourselves from a man armed with a banana.
15
Mike Gee Cant wait for them to come home. Hopefully drive down the idiot prices.
15
Legionitalia Yeah now we use missles to take out city blocks.
15
Very cool. Interesting use for old naval guns. The 5 inch guns that were on Wake Island had previously been mounted on the USS Texas.
15
@80krauser Called them the Radium girls. Some of them went as far as to paint their teeth and go out to clubs with glow in the dark teeth.
15
Very nice looking weapons. Nice collection. Would like to see some video occasionally of the target and bullet impacts.
15
Adjust for inflation $400 dollars in 1986 is $900 dollars today.
15
You should do this on a new firearm also. You never know.
14
Having had the pleasure of getting to shoot an MP5 SD many years ago. The sound you heard was very close to reality. Every weapon and suppresor combo are slightly different. This weapon is the GOLD standard by which others are measured.
14
And now a Llama is charge.
14
@marshaul I would still take one chambered in .45 auto, with suppressor and a passive night vision scope. 21st century sentry removal tool.
14
Right there with ya. But I never bought a Calico. Although now thinking I was an idiot for not buying one.
14
Except it is French.
14
@chintz7428 Floggings will continue until morale improves.
14
I just would want to see if it works once. Neat idea although I agree with Ian not very practical.
14
Yes this works well and makes it more interesting.
13
Very cool. Nice idea to have a portable short range indirect fire weapon with the infantry. No need for radios, or telephones, or to be on waiting list for fire support it is integral to your unit.
13
The training cadre that cleaned and maintained them as well.
13
Nice, never sell it. Buy a couple of parts kits for it. So you have them if you ever need them.
13
@SirPunch2Face No problem. Just had nasty mean people with round brown hats drill it into my head.
13
You know he could possibly be religious or does not want to offend people who are in his audience. Who believe that doing that is a bad thing to do. Probably does not tell yall to stop for the same reason. Knows that it will just get worse.
13
Very cool. Thank you for the history lesson. More indepth than my history teachers ever did.
13
He cannot travel to various countries. Large events have been cancelled out of abundance of caution. Boredom has set in. Good time to watch videos.
13
Never show anybody anything you have that might possibly be illegal. Every story I hear about this ends with the person who had the quasi legal or illegal thing was arrested or the item was confiscated or it was stolen. But since it was quasi legal they cant report it to the police.
