  1. Really, the 2nd and 3rd shouldn't have been made. They each moved farther away from original. With Keanu not valuing money, I was mildly curious if the script maybe was decent. Ouch. Definitely not. Why be part of this, Keanu? Critical Drinker is the best channel for saving me from disappointment and doing it in an entertaining way. This review makes me want to watch the first installment, which actually had a solid ending.

  2. 4:32 this image sums up post-Endgame MCU. This video is prophetic in light of female Thor and Disney not wanting Spider-Man in the MCU. Brie Larson has maybe 2 movies before The Wall runs her over. Female Thor actress, Natalie Portman, has been valiantly fighting off The Wall, but has enough gas left in the tank for only one movie. Heck, even a well liked character, Black Widow is slated to have the now-older Johansson playing her you character in a prequel. Non cgi makeup can only take that train so far down that track. MCU is dead-ending.

  4. Writer /Director is always a red flag and almost always a bad idea. They are 2 different jobs requiring 2 different sets of talents. Even George Lucas' Episode IV was only the success it was because he had close friends able to tell him "no, there's a better way to do this." Taika Waititi should've immediately been pulled from Lady Thor when he said "the audience doesn't know what it wants until I give it to them." Translated, he's saying, "I'm such an egotistical narcissist that I don't care to understand what the customer wants." If you don't know what your customer wants, it's blind luck if you make the right product. You're throwing darts blindfolded after being spun in a few circles and just hoping you hit the wall the board is on, never mind the dartboard or actual bullseye. What I like most about Critical Drinker's reviews is that he squeezes more entertainment and information into a product that has 5% of the viewer's time requirement compared to what he's reviewing. The Drinker understands what his audience wants, humor (entertainment) and information, and he provides it in a concise, useful format that respects his audience's time. As it is, I was never going to watch Lady Thor. I can't stand the hypocrite Natalie Portman, the narcissist Taika Waititi, or the Abrams-esque over the top effects used to hide lack of story. I would like to thank the Drinker for valuing my time and confirming that this is a movie I didn't need to see and wouldn't have enjoyed.

At 679,723 views (at the time of my comment), The Critical Drinker's review has cost this movie about $11,000,000 dollars in lost box office gross (figuring average ticket price of just $8 and assuming that each person who watched would have had an accompanying friend or date). Good job saving us money, Drinker! Thank you!!

Banks is Bosley?! /facepalm If anything this movie is good because it gives unknown creative screenwriters hope that they might actually find someone to give them money to make their movie. I feel bad for Picard. Taking this terrible role and the new Picard role. He's a knight fer Chrisakes. The only reason the first movies didn't fail was the cast were well known and the movies didn't take themselves seriously. I'll admit I enjoyed watching Banks in "Walk of Shame." it was a pleasant popcorn movie. Banks was attractive enough and the film had a few laughs. I'll pass on anything else written or directed by the actress, though. These days, I'm crossing off woke, propaganda pushers from my list of entertainment I'll pay to see. I do find it ironic that actresses like Banks and Portman are making this kind of "stand" after blatantly using their looks and sexuality to get where they are. It's a bit like a Hispanic person who's made it to the US and earned citizenship then saying, "Build the wall! Close the gates! I'm already here." Ya, that's really helpful for all those trying to get get where you are.

Further, 8:55 9:16 established characters have been completely reworked into something completely unlike the character of the SOURCE MATERIAL. /PicardFacepalm

  9. The ONLY complaint I have with this show is that they OBVIOUSLY wanted Bradley Cooper for the role of Homelander. When they couldn't get him, instead of changing the character to fit the actual actor, they just did up the actor to look like Cooper. It's so obviously miscast that it's annoying to watch scenes with Homelander. Like season 2 of "The Orville", this series gets better with each episode. Here, that's because the characters evolve and the story develops in an organic way.

  10. I had no interest in Lady Ghostbusters. So, I never paid attention to any of its marketing. I had no idea it was a straight up gender switch with the exact same cast setup (right down to the odd-man-out black character) doing the same movie as Ghostbusters. Wow. Lady Thor must be proud of these four brave women trailblazing a path for new, creative female characters in their own well conceived and executed films. (Learn from a true master, sarcasm I do.)

  11.  Jack Strawb  - the first thing I saw her in was The Perfect Score. Her character was very similar to Black Widow, now that I think about it. A capable, but sexy female who isn't JUST attractive, but who is very aware that being attractive is a tool in her toolbox (double entendre intended).

  16. Great review. I never saw Lady Ghostbusters. However, after this review, I have a desire to...re-watch the original. Fun fact: one upside of a remake this bad is that if you mention the movie "Ghostbusters" , nobody is going to ask if you mean the remake or original. I find it odd that the director kept the structure of the movie and characters, but exercised his "creativity" to remove all the good bits. If he had just done a straight 1:1 gender swap, with competent actresses, the movie may have worked out OK.

  28. And Kathleen Kennedy killed it. I haven't seen the movie where Rey ripped off Luke's legacy. After Rian Johnson made some random Sci Fi movie with a "Star Wars" label slapped on it, I swore I'd not have anything you do with SW until Kennedy was completely gone from Lucasfilm and Disney altogether. She's a failed cameraman dressed up as a CEO. I haven't seen any of the shows since either. I'll continue to stay away from SW until Kennedy is gone and Disney takes the IP back to what made it great. Incidentally, Han Solo ALREADY had a back story that the Solo failure attempted to retcon. Seeing that the books were more popular and financially successful than the movie, I'll consider Han's dignity and past intact.

  50. The kids thing has worked before Stranger Things. Goonies, ET, Explorers of my childhood are films that I still like as an adult. I'm sure there are more recent examples. It can work if script and director are on point and there's something besides nostalgia to lean on. One thing that makes kids a good choice is that, unless they're Gary Stus, like Wesley Crusher, everyone can relate to them even adults, because we all have someone who doesn't listen to us when we're right in our lives and that's usually a part of kids in movies.
