  3. the island is relying heavily on the US. every egg is in that one basket, so if america were to be unavailable, the island is toast. we can reasonably say that the US will not always be-, so china will take the island eventually

  19. i think it's more than just economic sanctions. russia of course can survive the sanctions, but if they make an incorrect move on their part, there will be long-term effects on diplomatic relations and military expeditions

  20. pretty sure russia's ultimate goal is not to annex parts of ukraine and call it a day. annexation of some land might be part of the resolution, but having a ukraine that is within russian influence or out of american hands is the bigger goal if i had to guess
