Eastern Diamondback rattlesnakes are protected by law under the endangered species list in North Carolina where only six documented sightings of them have been recorded in Onslow County Camp Lejeune NC . All rattlesnakes are protected by law in North Carolina where habitat destruction and people killing them out of fear has dropped their population dramatically in the past thirty years .

North American Coral snake (Eqine ) - Pfizer Laboratory antivenin has of been in production since 2009 after being purchased from Wyeth Laboratory who halted production in 2003 . The shelf life of 5 years was extended by 12 years during the transition to Pfizer Laboratory antivenin. Pfizer Laboratory halted production in 2019 and the antivenin is available until June expiration date 2024 when it could be extended into the next decade due to the fact that Coral snakes rarely bite humans. Only 1 fatal bite from a Coral snake since the late sixties when Coral snake antivenin was developed by Wyeth Laboratory.

@anonone8954 People are usually bitten by snakes when they are stepped on or touched accidentally by people who are hiking or doing yard work. Wearing shoes and protective clothes when in their habitats will significantly reduce the number of envenomations throughout the world.
2
Cottonmouths have three defensive behaviors they will open their mouth wide open exposing the white interior vibrate their tails and emit a foul smelly musk when trying to escape from being captured or killed.
2
Make a video of one chasing you and put it on YouTube. Wildlife biologist would love to see it.

PNG Taipan Oxyuranous scutellatus canni that lives in Paupua New Guinea kill approximately 65% of the snake bite patients because of the lack of Antivenin/Antivenom. The Government is corrupt and charges outrageous prices for Antivenin/Antivenom. Australia has agreed to help people in Paupua New Guinea hopefully they can help with the problems of venomous snake bites.

A 29 year old male died from a Coral snake bite in 2006 and didn't seek medical attention after he was bitten while trying to kill an Eastern Coral snake in Florida. He became the first person to be killed by a Coral snake since 1967 when North American Coral snakes antivenin was developed by Wyeth Laboratory. @Jennifer Talley They are defensive in their behavior. They will open their mouth and display the white interior vibrate their tails and emit a foul smelly musk. Crofab antivenin is the only treatment for pitvipers bite in the United States 🇺🇸.
2
I saw a Black Rat snake in the chicken coop eating eggs. But have never seen the Akistrodon pisivorous the hook tooth fish eater attacking cows, horses,Pigs 😂. They eat fish and frogs even each other 😮 cannibalism and scavengers eating dead animals 😮.

the venom of the Cottonmouth Agkistrodon picivorous ld 50 25.8 mgkg SC hemotoxic and cytotoxic is among the weakest of the pitvipers in North America but they can deliver 170 mg in a single bite for large specimens enough to be fatal if not treated with Crofab antivenom ASAP.

Snakes are a very important part of controlling the rodents approximately ten million people die each year from diseases caused by rodents without snakes that number would be dramatically increased. Venomous snakes provides valuable venom for the production of antivenin and medical research purposes in treating different diseases.
2
Coral snakes have front fixed fangs and neurotoxic venom capable of delivering a fatal bite 🫦

@Les Sanderfer Copperheads can be more defensive than other species of snakes because they rely on their camouflage for their main defense. People are more likely to step on them or touch them accidentally than other species of snakes that is why so many people are bitten by copperheads. Copperheads also have the ability to survive in many different environments and have the widest range of any venomous snake species. That increases the odds of a human having an interaction with a copperhead.
2
Evolution is a fact Paleontologist who study all forms of fossilized life can give accurate dates going back over three hundred million years ago.
2
Copperheads rely on their camouflage and remain still they only bite people who either step on or touch them. If you try to capture or kill them they will defend themselves.
2
Only 2 people have died from a Cottonmouth bite since 1970. A man who was wading in a river in Missouri was bitten and died after he refused to get medical attention telling his girlfriend he couldn't afford it. He passed away RIP in his sleep after his autopsy revealed that he had a high level of pain medication in his system that contributed to his passing in 2015. Another man who was carrying a sack with Cottonmouths in it was bitten through the sack and died from the bites in Louisiana back in 1971 . What state was your friend from that you claimed that died from a Cottonmouth bite ? He's not listed on the North American snake death bite registy that keeps records of all venomous snake bites deaths in the US.
2

Juvenile snakes are never as dangerous as adult snakes they do not have venom glands as large as adult snakes⚕️
2
On a .02 percent chance of dying from snake bite in the United States with medical treatment and antivenin.
2
Venom is extracted at Serpentarium Laboratories by professionals who specialize in the production of antivenin who have degrees in herpetology research. Crofab antivenin is used for treating all North American pit vipers at a price of 3200 discount 12895 per vial hospital charges. You must be licensed to capture or produce antivenìn from snakes.
2
@Abioticwinter lol🚶🐍🤣
2
Adults have larger venom glands than juvenile snakes which would make them more dangerous.
2
@jackahickmanjr1960 Yes they use their tails to mimic their heads hoping predators will bite the tails instead of heads brilliant defensive tactic.
2
@jackahickmanjr1960 It's a well known fact for people who are experienced with Coral snakes . Most people who get bit by them are either very young and try using the worthless rhyme to identify them or people who own them as pets . They will also when picked up use the tail in a stabbing motion as a defensive tactic if handled roughly . Albino, melanistic and aberrant specimens and different colors in other countries make the rhyme useless that was taught on Milatary bases and in elementary schools back in the fifties . Another defensive behavior is farting instead of musking like a lot of snakes do !
2
North American Coral snake antivenin was developed in the sixties by Wyeth Laboratory and purchased by Pfizer Laboratory in 2009 who stopped producing antivenin in 2019. Those vials are still being used until June expiration date 2024 when it could be extended into the next decade due to the fact that Coral snakes rarely bite humans only 1 person has died from a Coral snake bite since the late sixties.
