The North American Coral snake Pfizer Laboratory antivenin can be flown by Plane or helicopter from the Venom Response Emergency Rescue Unit Miami Dade County Florida to hospitals who don't stock up antivenin for Coral snakes.

Snakes are venomous not poisonous. If it bites you and you die that's venom, if you bite it and you die that's poison. TOXINOLOGY101
1
Akistrodon pisivorous AKA Cottonmouths and Watermoccasins the hook tooth fish eater chases after fish not humans 😅
1
@Phat Ho Kum Snakes are in general venomous not poisonous.Venom is injected into the bloodstream from fangs in the snakes mouth.Poison has to come into contact with skin or be ingested to have a deadly effect.Only the Asian tiger keelback snake has the ability to use both as a means of defense and catching prey. The keelback stores poison in glands on the back of it's neck that it obtains from salamanders and toads that it consumed. It also has rear fangs to inject venom from glands located behind the eyes.If you bite it and you die that's poison if it bites you and you die thats venom.Venomous snake bites are treated with antivenin and poisoning is treated with activated charcoal. Knowing the difference can save lives. Toxinology101☣️

@Phat Ho Kum The Catahoula Leopard Dog named after Catahoula Parrish is an excellent climber of trees and do so when hunting raccoons in the swamps of Louisiana. Cats have the same larynx trachea and diaphragms as dogs and make barking sounds when stalking prey. Akistrodon piscivorus is the hook toothed fish eater which hunt and bite fish in water also underwater so they can bite humans that are wading in water just as well. According to the University of Florida Gainesville herpetology research most cottonmouth bites occur in water on humans lower extremities when they're not wearing shoes in rivers.Alays be aware of your surroundings and wear protective clothes when in their habitat to keep from being bitten by a venomous snake.🤔
1
It depends on how much venom the snake injects and if you get a allergic reaction to the venom causing Anaphylaxis. Five people are listed on the North American snake bite registry who have died from copperhead bites since 2004.
1
Inland Taipan ld 50 00.25 mgkg SC is the most toxic venomous snake in the world with its presynatic and postsynatic neurotoxic venom capable of delivering 44mg to 119mg in a single bite the Dubois Sea snake ld 50 00.44 mgkg SC is the most toxic venomous snake in the ocean and the 2nd most toxic venomous snake in the world with its neurotoxic venom.

You see that all your comments are repeating the same thing that are filled with fear and misunderstanding of one particular species of venomous snake. When are going to provide evidence of a cottonmouth behavior being aggressive not defensive its the same in every state they will open their mouth wide open exposing the white interior, vibrate their tails and emit a foul smelly musk when trying to escape from being captured or killed by any predators or persons. The young biologist in this video is from NC perhaps he found a docile Cottonmouth like that other biologist found in South Florida.

Approximately fourteen people have been documented from the bites of a Inland Taipan without any fatalities. Joe Bredyl father of the Barefoot Bushman survived the bites of a Inland Taipan without antivenom before the development of CSL Taipan antivenom. Rob ( Robbo ) Robinson survived the bites of a Inland Taipan without antivenom because he didn't want to take the side effects of the CSL Taipan monovalent antivenom. 1.Inland Taipan ld 50 00.25 mgkg SC 2.Dubois sea snake ld 50 00.44 mgkg SC 3.Eastern Brown snake ld 50 00.53 mgkg SC 4.Yellow Bellied Sea Snake ld 50 00.67 mgkg SC 5.Western Desert Taipan ld 50 00.75 mgkg SC 6.Perons Sea Snake ld 50 00.79 mgkg SC 7.Many Banded Krait ld 50 0.09 mgkg IV 8.Coastal Taipan ld 50 00.99 mgkg SC 9.Black Banded Sea Krait ld 50 0.111 mgkg SC 10.Beaked Sea Snake ld 50 0.1125 mgkg SC The top ten most toxic venomous snakes land and sea.
1
King Brown aka Mulga snake venom has evolved to be effective killing other reptiles including the Inland Taipan not for killing humans. The last recorded fatal bite from a King Brown snake was in 1969.

Gadsden flag don't tread on me.

Melanistic and albino specimens in North America the rhyme doesn't matter if your in Central America. 16 species of New World Coral snakes and over sixty species of Old World Coral snakes that have different colors.

Snakes are venomous not poisonous. Venom is injected into the bloodstream from fangs or stingers from snakes, insects and other animals. Poison has to come into contact with skin or be ingested to have a deadly effect on humans. If you are bitten by a venomous snake seek medical care asap to avoid any long term effects of their hemotoxic venom that is injected into the bloodstream. Cutting the bite and trying to suck the venom out does nothing to stop the spreading of the venom into the bloodstream. Those methods are outdated and only used in old western movies.⚕️

@lesliedefilippis2150 The snake in the video is the Sonoran desert Coral snake that lives in Arizona and New Mexico. Three species of Coral snakes Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert Coral snakes. The rhyme is usually for the Eastern Coral snake Micursus fulvius elapid family of snakes with neurotoxins and front fixed fangs just like all other elapids Cobras, Mambas, Taipans and Kraits. The rhyme is not even accurate for identifying them due to melanistic, albino and aberrant specimens of Coral snakes.16 species of new world Coral snakes and over sixty species of old world Coral snakes that come in different colors depending on what countries they live in. North American Coral snake Eqine Pfizer Laboratory antivenin is used when treating all North American Coral snakes Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert Coral snakes effective until June 2024 expiration date.
1
Pfizer laboratory (Eqine) North American Coral snake antivenom is still effective and may be extended into the next decade due to the rarity of Coral snake bites after being purchased from Wyeth laboratory in 2012 and was given a 12 year shelf life during the transition extended from the 5 year shelf life. Only one person has died from a Coral snake bite since the mid sixties and he didn't even seek medical care.
1
What kind of Coral snake live in Wisconsin? Eastern,Western or the Sonoran Desert 🏜 Coral 🪸 snake? There are no Coral snake species in the state of Wisconsin .
1
@Nada Gain Again 150 species of snakes in North America over ninty percent of which are nonvenomous only rattlesnakes, Cottonmouths, copperheads and Coral snakes have evolved with venom that could be fatal to humans.
1
Black rat snakes do not eat copperheads. Black racers eat copperheads! Black rat snakes mainly eat Rodents birds and their eggs.
1
Akistrodon piscivorus Aka cottonmouth watermoccasin rarely bite humans only if they are mishandled or stepped on do they normally bite and envenomate. Most of the time it's a dry bite meaning that no venom was injected only 2 people have died from a cottonmouth bite since the late nineteen sixties. Snakes are defensive not pissed off leave them alone and you won't get bit unless they are defending themselves from being captured or killed.
1
Evolution is a scientific fact based Paleontologist who study all forms of fossilized life can give accurate dates going back over three hundred million years ago.
1
@mulvey0731 Eophis underwoodi a small four legged snake is the oldest snake species that lived 167 million years ago. Approximately 65 million years later snakes evolved with venom but the gene for venom goes back 200 million years ago. Take care and have a wonderful day ☺️.

Largest documented Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake Crotalas admanteus 7.9 ft 34 lbs shot by a hunter named Rutledge in 1946. Unfortunately they don't get that big anymore due to habitat destruction and people killing them out of fear and for trophies.

If your cucumber smells like a copper head throw it away lol🚫🥒
1
In North Carolina we have the northern copper head and the Southern copper head so we just call them the Eastern copper head Lol just to avoid another Civil War.⚕️🇺🇸

The largest copper head on record is 53" Road kill from bolivar Tennessee.
1
@sstrongman Always report any animal you believe to be a record to your State wildlife fish and game division ! Never trust your biology teacher or your taxidermist lol.🐍⚕️

5 people have died from a Copperheads bite since 2004 listed on the North American Snake death bite registry due to a severe allergic reaction resulting in Anaphylaxis or heart attack. Oliver Chum Baker 52 years old from Alabama was the last person who died after he was bitten on Memorial day weekend in Huntsville Alabama 2019 after he was rushed to the Hospital. Each person can react differently to snake venom so it's best to seek medical attention ASAP if you're unfortunately bitten by any venomous snake.
1
Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake Crotalas admanteus live in Southeastern portion of NC and are listed on the endangered species list and protected by law. The Timber rattlesnake Crotalas horridus live in the Piedmont portion and mountains of NC. Only a handful of sightings in Onslow County Camp Lejeune area since the mid nineties of the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake Crotalas admanteus.

@MyWildBackyard Again that's misinformation ! Micrurus Pfizer Laboratory antivenin bought the Wyeth Laboratory antivenin product in 2009 that was halted in 2003 and the shelf life of 5 years was extended by 12 years during the transition to Pfizer Laboratory . You should update your viewers on this subject matter before spreading misinformation on the internet . Keep up the great work and have a great day 😊 👍.

Coral snake antivenom was developed by Wyeth laboratory in the late sixties and is now produced by Pfizer Laboratories effective until June 2024 when it could be extended into the next decade due to Coral snakes rarely bite humans unless handled roughly usually by children using the rhyme to identify them . The one person who died refused treatment and was found deceased the next morning and also had a high level of alcohol in his system .

Commonwealth Serum Laboratory developed Taipan antivenom/antivinin in 1955 because Kevin Budden herpetologist captured the first live Coastal Taipan Oxyuranous scutellatus in 1950 losing his own life in the process. CSL Taipan polyvalent treats all 4 species of Taipans the Inland Taipan Oxyuranous microlepidtos,Coastal Taipan Oxyuranous scutellatus,Paupua New Guinea Taipan Oxyuranous scutellatus canni and the Western Desert Taipan Oxyuranous temporalus aka Central Ranges Taipan. CSL Taipan monovalent antivenom treats bites from the Inland Taipan Oxyuranous microlepidtos if the patient requires it.
1
You definitely would make it out alive from the bite of a copperhead unless you have a severe allergic reaction to the venom and the bite causes anaphylaxis.
1
Sounds more like a typical encounter with the Agkistrodon picivorous aka Cottonmouths and Watermoccasins the hooked tooth fish eater than aggressive behavior. 😊
1
I live in NC where Cottonmouths live in the Coastal plains and swamps, rivers and tributaries throughout the Southeastern portion of the state. One person reported seeing a Cottonmouth at Lake Jordan in the 1980's which is considered the Piedmont portion of the state and out of the typical region of NC where Cottonmouths live but possibly a vagrant Cottonmouth could have been spotted. The Northern Watersnakes Nerodia sipedon are the most common species of snakes in the Lake Jordan region of NC harmless species that will approach canoes, boats and people fishing just like Cottonmouths do they are curious snakes and are attracted to the smell of fish and sea canoes and boats as floating logs where they can rest on while swimming around looking for a meal. 😊

Akistrodon piscivorus or cottonmouth are not found near Carowinds. There is no record of a child being bitten at the park or in the North American snake bite registry .
1
Atropine and medical ventilation machines were used on Milatary bases for Coral snake bites before the development of North American Coral snake antivenin Wyeth Laboratory in the sixties.
1
@jimlasswell4491 He is aware now maybe not when the video was made. Pfizer Laboratory has been producing Micrurus North American antivenin since 2009 after purchasing from Wyeth Laboratory that stopped producing antivenin in 2003. Those vials had a shelf life of 5 years and was extended by 12 years during the transition. Pfizer Laboratory Micursus antivenin is available until June 2024 expiration date. It could possibly get another extension then. It also available from Venom Responce Emergency services Miami Dade County Florida they can fly antivenin by plane or helicopter to hospitals who don't stock up the Coral snake antivenin.
1
Snakes are venomous not poisonous venom is injected into the bloodstream from fangs and poison has to come into contact with skin or be ingested to have a dangerous effect on humans . The rhyme isn't reliable due to aberrant specimens in North America and Coral snakes come in many different colors depending on the country they live in . Sixteen species of new world Coral snakes and over sixty species of old world Coral snakes.
