Southeastern NC is the range ends for the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake Crotalas admanteus where they are protected by Wildlife laws and on the endangered species list only a handful of sightings in Onslow County Camp Lejeune since the mid nineties. Timber /Canebrake rattlesnake Crotalas horridus lives in the state of Maryland.
1
@JayLandon64 There's a possibility of it being an escaped pet or vagrant. No established breeding population in the state of Maryland of the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake Crotalas admanteus.

Coral snakes have front fixed fangs like all Elapids have .
1
Dry bites meaning no venom is injected into the bloodstream from fangs in the snakes head that are connected to the venom glands. If you receive a pitviper envenomation seek medical attention asap to avoid any long term effects of their hemotoxic venom. Crofab antivenin is used when treating the bites of all North American pit vipers and Micrurus Pfizer Laboratory is used for treating all North American Coral snake bites.
1
According to wake medical Raleigh North Carolina during the month of July 2022 37 patients were treated for copperhead bites Patients on average received 8 vials of crofab antivenin. None of the bites resulted in a fatality.⚕️
1
That's common sense the only question I have is how often do juvenile snakes give dry bites meaning no venom is injected into the bloodstream versus adult snakes delivering dry bites. Juvenile Fer de Lance pitvipers in Central and South America have neurotoxins along with hemtoxins in their venom which makes it more toxic but still not capable of delivering 400mg of venom in a single bite like adults. Don't want to be bitten by any venomous snake 😉
1
Joe Bredl father of Rob Bredl the Barefoot Bushman survived the bites of a Inland Taipan without antivenom before the development of CSL Taipan. Rob ( Robbo Robinson) survived the bites of a Inland Taipan without antivenom because he didn't want to take the Taipan monovalent antivenom side effects.
1
George Rosendale survived the bites of a Coastal Taipan without antivenom in 1949 before the development of CSL Taipan antivenom in 1955 .
1
Juvenile pitvipers can control their venom they have smaller venom sacks . Adults are always more dangerous because they are larger and have larger venom sacks! Biologists and medical professionals destroyed that myth years ago.⚕️
1
@bryanwall5616 Inland Taipan ld 50 00.25 mgkg SC is the most " toxic " venomous snake in the world with its presynatic and postsynatic neurotoxic venom capable of delivering 44mg to 119mg in a single bite. They live in remote black soil region of Australia's outback and rarely comes into contact with humans unless they are looking for them. Nobody has ever died from the bites of a Inland Taipan yet thanks to CSL Taipan monovalent-polyvalent Antivenin. Snakes are defensive not aggressive and don't want anything to do with humans.
1
You probably got bit by harmless water snake lol🤣 CRO FAB antivenìn is the only thing that will help⚕️
1
@Wayne Sligar Putting tobacco on a snake bite does nothing to stop the spreading in the bloodstream Cotton mouth venom is Hemo toxic how many vials of çrofab antivenin were you given to treat the bite ?
1
Evolution is fact Paleontologist can give accurate dates going back over three hundred million years ago. Eophis underwoodi was a small four legged snake discovered 165 million years ago but the gene for venom dates back over two hundred million years ago.

In 2006 a 29 year old man from Florida was bitten by a Eastern Coral snake Elapid family of snakes Micrurus fulvius while trying to kill it. He passed away in a wooded area after refusing medical treatment and became the last person to die from a Coral snake bite since the late nineteen sixties when Coral snake antivenin was developed by Wyeth Laboratory and is now recognized by Pfizer Laboratory effective until June expiration date 2024 when it could be extended into the next decade. When Pfizer bought the right to produce Coral snake antivenin from Wyeth Laboratory the shelf life of 5 years was extended by 12 during the transition. Approximately less than 100 people are bitten by Coral snakes annually in the United States. No one has ever died from the Western or Sonoran desert Coral snakes bites. If the hospital doesn't stock the antivenin it can be flown in by Plane or helicopter from the Venom Response Team Miami Dade County Florida.
1
Inland Taipan ld 50 00.25 mgkg SC with its presynatic and postsynatic neurotoxic venom capable of delivering 44mg to 119mg in a single bite is 15 times more toxic than the venom of the Black Mamba ld 50 0.341 mgkg SC with its neurotoxic and cardiovascular toxins.
1
Coral Snakes have front fixed fangs just like all the other Elapids.
1
Eastern Diamondback and Western Diamondback rattlesnakes can inject approximately 1000mg of hemotoxic venom in a single bite with 1 inch fangs and a bite force of 150psi which makes them more dangerous than the Mojave rattlesnake ld 50 0.18 mgkg SC,Tiger rattlesnake ld 50 0.21 mgkg SC and the Canebrake/Timber rattlesnake Crotalas horridus which have traces of neurotoxic and myotoxic venom. The deadliest venomous snake is the one that bites you ! Or the last 😂.
1
Antivenom/Antivenin is expensive to make perhaps you don't know how extractions takes to make one vial of it and then sold to pharmaceutical companies who then have to inject horses or sheep to create the antibodies to complete the process of making the Antivenom/Antivenin. There's only around 7 Serpentariums in the US that men risks their lives almost daily extracting various venomous snakes for medical purposes for treating Thrombosis,High blood pressure,Pain medication and for Cancer research medicine for breast cancer. High risk jobs which saves human lives. Only 1 person I'm 50 million die from snake bites in the US annually.
1
Crofab antivenom for all North Americans pitvipers Copperheads,Cottonmouths and Rattlesnake bites is sold to hospitals at a discount price of $ 3500 per vial which results in hospital charges of $12500 per vial for patients being treated for snake bites. North American Coral Snake ( eqine ) Pfizer laboratory is more expensive to make due to the rarity of Coral snake bites.
1
@larrywilliams9139 I live in NC where Blue Cross Blue Shield covers Copperhead envenomations . On average if venom is injected 6 vials of Crofab antivenom is given to the patients. NC leads the nation in snake bites mostly from Copperheads which have the lowest venom toxicity of all the other pitvipers in the US. Only around 5 people die annually in the US from snake bites. Deer kill around 200 people annually in the US mostly from SUV's driving at a high rate of speed on 2 lane roads.
1
@MyWildBackyard There are 100 venomous snakes in Australia but only 12 are considered deadly with neurotoxins, cytotoxins and cardiotoxins. Only a .03 percent chance of dying from snake bite in Australia with antivenin and medical treatment medications that is provided by Medicare insurance for all citizens in Australia.
1
Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert Coral snakes have neurotoxins and bites are treated with North American Coral snake (Equine )- Pfizer Laboratory antivenin who purchased the product from Wyeth Laboratory that developed the Coral snake antivenin in the late sixties. Only one person has died since the development of antivenin from a Micrurus fulvius Eastern Coral snake Elapid family and nobody has ever died from the bite of the Western or Sonoran desert Coral snakes.
1
You can't use insects repellent when handling reptiles and amphibians for research. Herpelology 101
1
Only a. 03 percent chance of dying with medical treatment in Australia from snake bites with CSL monovalent and polyvalent antivenìn. Australian snakes have evolved with neurotoxins so they basically have to apply a pressure bandage and seek medical attention asap. Only a. 02 percent chance of dying in the US with medical treatment from snake bite which most of the snakes are pitvipers with hemotoxic venom that causes hemorrhaging, tissue damage and necrosis. Crofab antivenin is used when treating the bites of all North American pit vipers and Micrurus Pfizer Laboratory antivenin is used when treating North America's only elapid species the Coral snake which has neurotoxic venom.
1
Only one person has died from a Cottonmouth bite since 1971 . 38 years old in Missouri and he didn't get medical attention ASAP. Crofab antivenom is available for all North American pitvipers Cottonmouths,Copperheads and Rattlesnake bites.
1
Akistrodon pisivorous AKA Cottonmouths or Watermoccasins chase after fish not people unless they look and smell like fish. No snakes chase humans it's a myth.
1
Commonly found in freshwater streams in the mountains but can be found in Rowan County Grant's Creek They make excellent catfish bait lol.👾
1
There has only been one documented sighting of a timber rattlesnake in Rockingham North Carolina that was 7 - 28 - 21. Report any sightings of rattlesnakes to the North Carolina wildlife commission to have it verified. Carolina herp atlas also have the sightings for verification. North Carolina all rattlesnakes are protected.
1
@ImafukinGayFish Fer de Lance LD 50 1.9-11.2mgkg sc capable of delivering 100 to 310mg of venom in a single bite is responsible for the most fatalities from snake bites in South and Central America . Their venom is more toxic than the Bushmaster that lives in the remote forest where antivenin isn't available and getting to a hospital with antivenin in time isn't likely to happen which leads to their higher mortality count .
1
Shelby Stanga on the history Channel may have developed immunity from cottonmouth bites since he has lived with them all his life. Or its possible that the snake has only given him a dry bite meaning that no venom was injected into his bloodstream.
1
Five people are listed on the North American snake bite registry that have died from copperhead bites since 2004. Oliver chum Baker 52 years old was bitten by a copperhead in 2019 and died was the last fatality listed after he was bitten multiple times by a copperhead and air lifted to a hospital in Huntsville Alabama where he died of Anaphylaxis resulting in a fatal heart attack.
1
Coral snakes have neurotoxins " venom " not poison with front fixed fangs like all Elapids Taipans,Mambas,Kraits and Cobras and don't have to chew to inject " venom " but they will hold on moving their heads side to side so it's important to get them off asap.
1
Video proof or it doesn't happen. Orry Martin the Texas Snake Hunter chased by a Cottonmouth YouTube ! 😂
1
Oliver chum Baker 52 years old of Alabama passed away may 27th 2019 from a Copperhead bite that he received on May 25th ! Baby snakes are never as venomous as adults adults have larger venom glands ! The story of them being more dantgerous and not being able To control their venom is just a myth! During the month of July 2022 in North Carolina at wake medical Raleigh North Carolina 37 people were bitten by copperheads on average each patient received 8 vials of crofab antivenin.⚕️ 5 people died from the bites of copper heads between 2019 and 2004 Information provided by North American Snake bite registry and wake medical Raleigh North Carolina. Edit T in dangerous lol.😂
1
Horses and donkeys kill more people in Australia than any other types of wildlife including Snakes,Aracnids and Sharks.
1
4 to 5mg of neurotoxins is a lethal dose of venom. A large Micrurus fulvius Eastern Coral snake Elapid family is capable of delivering 20 mg of venom in a single bite. 60% of Coral snakes envenomations are dry bites meaning no one has been injected into the bloodstream from fangs. North American Coral snake ( Equine ) Pfizer Laboratory antivenin is used when treating all Coral snakes Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert Coral snakes effective until June expiration date 2024 when it could be extended into the next decade due to the fact that Coral snakes rarely bite humans.
1
Defanging a venomous snake results in the snake dying since they rely on their venom to kill the prey that they eat to stay alive. A venomoid is a snake that has both venom glands and the fangs removed and is not recommended by any herpetologist who cares about the snake. Snakes have evolved to have 2 sets of fangs one in use the other as a replacement if broken or when the snake sheds them many times in their life.
1
Look for the eye stripe resembles a Zoro mask that all Cottonmouths have. Behaviors of Cottonmouths include displaying the white interior of their mouth known as gaping, vibrating their tails and emitting a foul smelly musk when threatened by predators and persons who are trying to capture or kill them.
1
Eastern Diamondback rattlesnakes live from southeastern NC to eastern Louisiana long leaf pine forest , barrier islands and coastal plains. The Western Diamondback rattlesnake is found in Texas.
1
Pfizer Laboratory Micrurus antivenin for all species of North American Coral snakes purchased from Wyeth Laboratory in 2009 has been available for any hospitals to stock on request or have it flown in by Plane or helicopter . This is medical misinformation by telling the public no antivenin I personally have left a half dozen comments telling him about it .
1
They release venom from front fixed fangs just like all other elapids Cobras, Mambas, Taipans and Kraits. North American Coral snake antivenin Pfizer Laboratory is available for any hospitals who want to stock it .
1
World Record 74in.11lb.1990 captured in the Great dismal swamp North Carolina and Virginia border.
1
That's just a myth lol😂
1
Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake capable of delivering 1000 mg of hemotoxic venom in a single bite with 1 inch fangs and a bite force of 150 psi is the most dangerous snake in North America.
1
Venom is injected into the bloodstream no matter where the snake bites unless you have a dry bite meaning that no venom was injected into the bloodstream. 5 people have died from the bites of copperheads since 2004 it depends on if the person has a severe allergic reaction to the venom causing Anaphylaxis.
1
LD50 numbers are based on test on mice not humans. 5 people have died since 2004 from copperhead bites.⚕️
1
@ericsbraun The most dangerous snake in the United States is the Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake largest rattlesnake species with a bite force of 150psi and capable of delivering 1000mg of hemotoxic venom in a single bite. The Timber/Canebrake rattlesnake is responsible for the most fatalities from snake bites in the United States since the late nineteen sixties but a lot of deaths from the Timber rattlesnakes bite occurred in religious ceremonies and people who are bitten refuse medical treatment and antivenin from the bite . Coral snakes have neurotoxins that damage the Central nervous system but only have been responsible for 2 fatalities since the late nineteen sixties when Wyeth Laboratory North American Coral snake antivenin was developed for all species of Coral snakes Eastern, Western and Sonoran desert Coral snakes now manufactured by Pfizer Laboratory Micursus antivenin for all species of North American Coral snakes since 2009. No one has ever died from the bite of the Western or Sonoran Desert Coral snake !
