  38. @ oh my friend, you don’t know what redistribution tax brackets are. I lived in Europe 45% of my salary went to taxes. This is about everyone contributing their fair share and basic economic shows that is done by simple progressive taxation. The problem is that we lost some of the higher tax brackets. If they would still exist, all tax brackets could be altered so everyone pays less tax. We should stop trying to skin an undernourished cat and balance the tax system. Using a flat tax will make you pay exactly the same, those richer will pay less and those poorer than you will pay more. That is the curse of being in the middle nothing changes.

However you can still bring in deductions. For a joint income of 201050 usd this flat rate leads to higher taxes because nothing can be deducted. In reality you are blaming the wrong party I am afraid. US wage growth is the guilty one, not the tax rate. Did you know that the average US worker has the same wage in 2019 than in 1973? And that during that period tax rates decreased significantly. But you are a hardcore American pursuing the wrong target as usual. Fortunately, we aren’t all the same. Is that condescending enough for you?
